  • Folders in "all programs".

On the page "Programs" of all programs available, there are many items that files.  It is that they have more than one program.  I want to be able to create such files.  In particular, so that I can group programs as I would like together - such as Microsoft did with accessories, and has submenus.
It's very nice.  Now, I want to be able to do.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi moxo,.

There is no way to customize the start menu, all programs list. But there are a lot of third-party program that could help you in the task.

I suggest that you use your favorite search engine to find such a program.

Important: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • For CS6, is there an easier way to redirect all my files and folders for all programs?

Hey people adobe, Im wondering, I know you can configure each preference individually, but I want to redirect all caught space, storage of brushes and etc for all my programs in an another disc as volume change c / e /. Is there a way to do this with a program to make it easier? I don't want to accidentally delete files that are not all adobe programs.

The reason is I don't want anything else then store programs on the SSD, and theoretically, I want the other disk, so it can run faster.

There is no global option for this.

  • Folder icon in all programs on the start menu

I tried to change the icons of the folders in all programs on the start menu. But after that, it has been restored. Nothing is left.

Hoping that windows can automatically display the icons of the programs installed on these files.

    Hello

I understand that you want to change the icons of folders in the files shows all programs menu.

You can change the icons of folders which are displayed in the file Explorer, but these changes will not be reflected in the access to the start menu.

However, you can use some 3rd 3rd party apps that can help you to do the same.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • How can I recover the files and programs before a system restore? my document folders are all empty and my programs will not open!

How can I recover the files and programs before a system restore?  my document folders are all empty and my programs will not open!

I know they are there and hidden somewhere, but this restoration took my settings of the computer to 2004! We lost all our data, our software that we use to operate our company at home, our quickbooks that has all our financial data, family photos, videos, Outlook will work not so no e-mail, all turned in time and 6 years ' worth of documents have disappeared.

What happeneded was that I was trying to upgrade to quickbooks software when I got an error, I cancelled out of the facility, then restarted and that's when I got an error hal.dll something? I thought about a system restore would allow me to go back in time to just before when the error occurred, but he basically took my computer back to factory settings, so all the programs that I installed and paid hundreds of dollars for the past six years has disappeared, Microsoft Office and very expensive construction estimating software that we wil have to pay once AGAIN for If I can't get this program working properly.

    I am a fool! I can't believe what's happening.

Someone at - it instructions on how I can retrieve either the programs and data that I need specifically or how to go and seek shade from the files I read online on and restore my computer for about 12 hours ago?

    Thank you all!

Looks like you did a system rather than a system restore recovery.  If you have inserted a disc supplied with your machine and booted from it, you probably erased the disc and installed the original operating system provided with your computer.  Usually, a step in this recovery is to do a full format or quick of your drive.  If you did a full format, your data is permanently lost.  With a quick format, your data may still be there, somewhere but inaccessible by normal means.  Applications must generally be installed, in order to recover the files probably will not help unless you have the original installation media.  Your other data files (images, videos, financial data) may be salvageable, but at this point, it would be advisable to take your computer or your disk to a business/professional who is experienced with data disc recovery.  It will be cheap and there is no guarantee.

Impatient, remember investigate you a backup strategy for your computer and critical data.  Hard drives can go wrong with little or no warning.

  • "All programs" list empty

Yesterday, I noticed that when I click on "All programs" in the Start Menu, there are all the programs listed. I can still access all of C:\Program Files, so I know that I've accidentally deleted all the programs. Is it possible to restore them to "all programs"? Attached is a link to my "All programs" list look like now.

    Hi LisaEB,

    1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

It seems that if you have something close to 70 or more shortcuts/folders in the all users folders & Start Menu/user combined program, the list of all programs will eventually be empty or empty. Check the number of recent programs that can be displayed in the Start Menu.

    Method 1:

    a. click Windows orb to open the Start Menu.

    b. right-click on all programs, and then select open.

    c. double-click the folder programs. There should be a list of folders.

    d. create a new folder.

    e. Select a bunch of files in the folder programs and drag the folders to the new folder.

    f. restart your computer and check if the programs are shown when you click on start > all programs.

g repeat the above steps until the list is displayed in all programs.

    Method 2:

You can also try the following steps and check if it helps...

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following windows Help article.

    Back up the registry

    a. Click Start and type regedit.exe.

    b. Select regedit in the search list.

    c. now, navigate to the following keys:-
    HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

    d. the value of Start Menu to "%USERPROFILE%\Start Menu".

    e. go to HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders.

    f. common value Start Menu to "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu.

    g. close the registry editor and restart the machine.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Start in > all programs displays of empty program files

Hi - I hope someone can help me. I searched and found others who have had the same problem but no one has released a fix to work for her.

I got a virus last week that hid all the icons on my desktop and in my Start menu in my C: drive. I deleted the virus and was able to restore my desktop icons, drive C: and Menu master boot successfully, but I still have a problem. When I click on "All programs", my program files appear, but they are all empty. Programs are always installed, but for some reason, they do not appear when I click on the folder in the start menu > all programs. I can't do a restore system - the virus deleted my restore points as well. Is there a way I can rebuild my Start menu without having to do a reinstall full? I tried to create a new user profile, but the problem exists in the new profile as well.

I can run programs if I type in the correct .exe file in the search at the bottom of my Start menu bar (for example, iexplore.exe), but if I just type the name of the program, search does not find it. When I click on start > all programs, it seems normal at first, but if I click on a folder (such as Microsoft Office), it just says: (empty) under the name of the folder.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. I checked that there is no virus on my computer by running MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware in safe mode, run the Avira rescue disk.

Folder options are checked to show hidden files and folders, so that's not all.

    Thank you!

If you place the cursor over the menu start all the entry of programs then right click & select open and then again to select open all users, shortcuts appear in the files that open upwards [i.e. just are we discussing their appearance in the menu programs all]?

If the shortcuts are here [I'm just a little hesitant about the meaning of what you have written before], then you might just get away with running the System File Checker.

I always agree with well Dissed - that the virus could hide here all the time since the last attack.  If all goes well, there is a good guide to the procedures for removal of malicious software by SpiritX in How to remove spyware from the computer , it will prevent a determine of this infection.

Good luck with this annoying problem.

  • Is there a risk to delete all empty folders

I'm a "degunking" from my computer.  I have removed several unwanted files and delete empty folders.  I would like to make a mass delition of empty folders and I wonder if there is a danger in this procedure.  The program I have to delete these folders tells me that it is y 989 on my system.

I think you're about you for nothing.  These empty folders can be temporary custodians for a variety of applications that may not be able to recreate them when necessary.

  • After Windows Recovery virus, all programs, folders, and documents are hidden

Hey there. I think I just cleaned my old machine to windows XP from a virus apparently known as Windows Recovery using software Malwarebytes' Anti Malware. I have two questions:
    1. How can I be sure that I deleted everything about the virus?
    2. the virus seems to have converted all my documents, files and programs to the State that is 'hidden '. Here is what happened: at his first connection after removing all the stuff found virus, all items in my office were missing from the office, and no program was included in the area of all programs on the start menu. I did a few fishermen and found that all of my programs and documents are in fact still on the computer, but they just seem to be have a "hidden" attribute So I changed my settings folder options to "show the hidden files and folders" and now I see all my old files on my desktop and files, but they are all gray. If I right click on any file or folder, then click Properties, it still shows that specific file as 'hidden '. This attribute at this level then really UN-hides compensation file. How can I apply this to all files and folders instead of each individually?

In addition, I still don't see any programs in the field of all programs on the start menu. I must go to c:\Program Files and navigate so (unless I have a shortcut on the desktop or the start menu). No idea how to get my programs listed in the programs area all over again?

    Hi Lea4Stas,

Try the method of register: listed @ http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com/forum/windows-xp/37769-unable-unhide-see-hidden-folders.html

You must copy under settings (in) - in Notepad and click Save as "restore.reg" in quotes.

Don't know what my kids did to our Windows XP laptop, but all the icons disappeared and when you click on all programs more say they are empty. I was wondering how I can return my games included with Windows for example.  I went on the Panel & clicked on add components, Accessories & utilities.  All I went to games on the internet.  No spiders, hearts, free cell, etc.

After running registry cleaning software, I lost the ability to see all my programs when I click on "All programs"... property is (empty)... same problem when I click on "Favorites"... resulting (blank)... suggestions?

It would be good to know how the system restore has failed.

Any registry cleaner worthy of the name should back up the registry or at least to save the made changes so that you could "undo" them.  Try to run to the top and look for an option "Cancel".

Another possible option would be to create a new user on your system.  When a new user is created, the default desktop items are regenerated and this could be a way to get back them.

Other than that, you may have to re-create your icons to find programs in the folder c:\Program Files\ and recreate the shortcuts on your desktop and start menu.

The register is an essential part of Windows and should not be messed with except if you know enough to back up the registry before you do anything about him, and restore the registry when things go wrong.

I have restarted my computer several times. I did an analysis of checker (SFC) to file system. I ran a registry by Uniblue Fixer; I tried antivirus scans and analyses ad-aware; nothing seems to work. And P.S. I can't just restore because I never ran a backup before, so there is nothing to restore.
