enabling AHCI in Sony Vaio
I am currently using Sony Vaio, the series E-VPCEH25EN.
320 GB, 2 GB of RAM, NVidia DeForce 512, i3 Dual core processor... and the BIOS is Insyde H2O 3.2.
Please help me how to change the BIOS to AHCI settings, because I tried, but there is no option tab in advance of the BIOS.
Please help me...
Mac OS officially can only be used with Mac hardware. Using any other material is not officially supported.
The Sony has been bundled with Windows 7 pre-installed, it is unlikely to have a working SATA (AHCI) mode with the formal recovery Sony system.

My laptop Sony VAIO with Vista will not connect and stay connected to my wireless internet. All other laptops in the House are perfectly. Internet disconnects, says local only, then reconnects constantly making internet hard work.
Hi Tinkerbellfancolorado,
- When is this last work fine?
- Do you receive an error message or error codes?
- Recent changes on the computer?
There could be several causes for this problem.
Try starting with these methods.
Method 1
Step 1
- Open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, and then click diagnose and repair.
- Make sure that all cables are connected (for example, make sure that your modem is connected to a working jack or cable phone connection, either directly or through a router).
- Reset your modem and router. Remove the power cord from the modem or router, wait at least 10 seconds, then plug in the modem and/or router back.
Step 2
Another reason may be windows disable your network adapter to save power. Turn off the power saving option in the properties of the network (wired network only cards) card:
- Open network connections by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking network and Internet, click network and sharing Center, and then clicking manage network connections.
- Right-click on the connection and then click Properties. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
- On the Networking tab, click Configure.
- On the power management tab, clear the allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option, and then click OK.

Method 2
Temporarily disable the firewall, and check the status.
NOTE: To re-enable the firewall after check you the status. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your /firewall antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

THIS PROBLEM IS WHEN CONNECT BLUETOOTH TO YOUR COMPUTER KEYBOARD, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR KEYBOARD, BUT IT IS FEATURES RATHER USELESS INCORPORATED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE COMPUTER.IF YOU HAVE A DELL, LENOVO OR ANY OTHER BRAND, YOUR SOLUTION CAN BE OF THE USELESS "" QUICKSET. "." EXE"PROCESS.WELL, after days of looking for a specific response from VAIO, finally I came with a solution for VAIO users whose computer is equipped with a receiver to blue tooth ATHEROS.
1 - type "regedit" in Start-Run menu to open your registry database.2 - navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ATHEROS\VistaAddOn\KBNotify3. - the value of '0 '.Close regedit, restart your computer and you're done.Be careful not to change anything else in your registry, unless you know what you're doing.FIND THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION TOOK ME SEVERAL HOURS, SHAME ON MICROSOFT AND SONY, IT IS THE MOST STUPIDEST USELESS FILM THAT I HAVE EVER MET.If your bluetooth receiver isn't ATHEROS, simply look for the brand name of your receiver instead of 'ATHEROS' and look for a similar register, it may look like 'BTTray', 'BTNotify' or similar.Good luck -
Sony Vaio in operating system not found?
I have a laptop Sony Vaio, model SVE14AJ16L number and I got a new drive hard since the hold had ceased to function. I didn't need all the files on the old drive, so I just jumped out. I installed the new drive, but then did not work the Assist button. I googled this and I couldn't find a solution. I need to install Vaio care, but cannot find the Vaio care for my model number. I needed to install Windows 8, but for some reason it wouldn't detect the DVD or USB. I made the USB drive bootable using rufus and I downloaded an ISO and intended to put the serial number on the bottom of my laptop. It looks like all that operating system not found. I can't go into the BIOS, because that's what the assist button, and it does not detect. The towers of DVD and USB activity led blinked his eyes, but nothing. I don't know what is happening. Even when I took out the hard drive and put in the DVD/USB, it seems still operating system not found. I can't find the model number on this site.
TL; DR
Installed a new drive, HELP does not, does not detect a bootable USB/DVD, appears only as an operating system not found. I made bootable USB/DVD and tested on other computers. Please help, thanks.
Basically, I don't have your system to test, so I'm just guiding you the general procedures.
First of all, FORGET the ASSIST button. To explain the question "why?" would take a lot of time and goals here is to install new windows in your new drive.
Secondly, I highly recommend you have all the necessary drivers for your equipment before your proceed with the windows installation 8 or 8.1. I own VPCSB28GG and Windows 8.1, several functions DO not work properly as it does in Windows 7. So, unless you have a deep knowledge on the computer, do not go for windows 8.1 yet or at least try to install windows 8.1 on a different drive for a test run.
Thirdly, I strongly recommend allows you to install Windows 7 USB stick / 8 / 8.1 since the DVD player is not a reliable source from USB. Microsoft also provides tools to help people installing Windows 7 / USB 8.x. Please google it.
As the symptoms that you have described, I recommend the steps as follows:
1. go in the BIOS / settings (by pressing F2 during POST) UEFI. Under start options, your system may use a different name, but in principle it is similar to this: '1 ST Boot Device' "2nd Boot Device" "3rd Boot Device"... and so on. The value '1 ST Boot Device' your desire, such as CD-ROM bootable media, DVD-ROM, external USB/HDD. In my case, it is an external device because I use USB boot Windows 7 / 8.x installation. The "2nd Boot Device" in the HARD drive internal value. Drive HARD internal is your disk newly installed (or current).
2. run the windows installation wizard. During the installation of Windows, your computer may restart several times. However, AFTER THE FIRST USE, you must go to the BIOS / UEFI with once again. The value '1 ST Boot Device' internal HARD drive. If you forget this step, you will encounter a loop of Windows installation. So, I suggest to pay attention pls. After that Windows Setup is complete, you can install drivers for your system. Find it in Support to the Sony Web site. You will need to download the Windows 7 drivers for Windows 8 as Intel Management Engine, components Sony blah blah blah. Please keep in mind, Vaio Care cannot make you suggest.
3. in the installation of Windows, you won't find your HARD drive to destination of installation. In this case, go to the BIOS / UEFI setting, replace your SATA AHCI by compatible IDE or SATA port configuration. You can later change back to AHCI AFTER installing your SATA driver.

Hello
Method 1.
Connect the device, run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter and check if that helps.
To open the Troubleshoot utility equipment follow the given link:

You need to contact Sony support to get the disc because it contains software of camcorder. You should also check the camcorder manual as it contains instructions to enable the USB setting in the camera for it to get detected in Windows 7 computer.
