• If you mount an encrypted disk image, the entire image is decrypted?

  I keep sensitive files on an encrypted disk image.  If I mount the disk image is any image decrypted or does OS X that decrypt the files that you open, on the fly?  I ask because I'm afraid that a hacker could access my computer remotely and poking it in the disk image if all is decrypted when it is mounted.  Any thoughts?

  Retina 13 MacBook Pro mid-2014

  Yosemite 10.10.5 OSX

  I had created a 4.5 GB partition encrypted using disk utility

  Need more space, then went again in with the dismounted drive and 'Resized' disk utility it 10 GB. Can I mount it and entered the partition tab.

  I drag the corner down to fill the space and click on apply. He crossed the movements without error, but it was not actually the partition to resize.

• sparsebundle disk image not mounting

  I've recently upgraded to Mac OS Sierra and now I can not mount an image of disk sparsebundle.

  I enter the password, and then nothing happens.

  I tried the same image on a Mac running Leopard and it opens fine.

  I tried a few other sparsebundle some and other encrypted disk images not. Some are open very well, but others do not.

  So, it doesn't seem to be a problem of sparsebundle encrypted disk image.

  Any suggestions?

  After investigation a little more the problem is Sophos AV

  Turn it off and the disk mount fine images.

  You can encrypt the files, there is no such thing as an encypted folder.
  API to encrypt/decrypt the byte [] to a file using the Cryptography is the correct way, Yes.

• SecureAccess iXpand for mac

  I tried to install the software on my Mac, but unfortunately it does not work. It just says that it cannot be installed on this drive. Any thoughts?

  Ok. I realized, with the help of a guy in the chat.  There are missing steps of documentation on installing the SecureAccess application.  In fact, none of the documents on the iXpand disc contains something on the installation of the application on a Mac secureaccess.  Here's the gist of it.  The application must be installed on the iXpand drive itself, not the hard drive of Macintosh.

  Their instructions on access to files secure on your Mac computer * start * with (to paraphrase) "launch the SecureAccess... app and click Next.  Well, all first, it does not say that this app * be * located in the root directory of the drive iXpand and second, it completely ignores the part on the installer to package the application running and selecting the drive of iXpand as the destination of the installation.  I don't think it's necessarily intuitive installation location of the application on the disc itself.  In retrospect, it makes sense, but I am a computer scientist, and * I * have not intuitively than initially.  So I think that a novice user can get stuck there, thinking the app not install.  Why not have these details in the documentation?

  In addition, another deficiency of the documentation is that they claim that the only way to fix a disc unknown iXpand iPad uses an iOS device 8 or a Windows computer (neither of which I have, BTW).  Being a computer scientist, I had wanted to install my own disk encrypted disk - image ran into some issues - and was reformat the drive using Apple Extended (journaled), which caused the player to not be recognized by the iPad iXpand app.  Fine.  I messed up.  (In fact, I discovered, the .dmg format file is not usable on the iPad.)  But according to the documentation, I've screwed - stuck with a USB dongle which does not work on my iPad!  Well, the documentation is imperfect, because you can solve this problem on a Mac computer.  You need to run disk utility and reformat the drive using the MS-DOS FAT format.  Alto!  It worked.  Please update SanDisk documentation to reflect this correction.

  I put a bunch of files in the vault of my computer in their own directory structure.  I was shocked to discover that to access these files on the iPad, I had to * move * them out of my directory structure (and decrypt) and put their secure the disk iXpand.  So my only option to re - secure files was to put them in the secure safe * root * directory!  I couldn't put them in the directory, they came!

  Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the ability to maintain secure files and exchange them at the back of the computer to the iPad.  It is the only method to my knowledge without going through the internet, so it is useful.  But this interface has, in my opinion, a certain way to go.

  And don't get started me on the interface of the mac app...

• Theme 25 linear gradients not supported in IE9 CSS?

  Recently, I posted a question (see Theme 25 change number of color in IE) with changes taken custom color theme 25 css 4_2.css still working in FF and Chrome, but not IE9 kept the original blue colors. Colors make correctly in IE10 and IE8 and it seems that the question is degraded linear CSS are not supported in IE9.

  Is it possible that I can get the custom colors to render in IE9? I hope that Oracle has rolled out this theme with the anticipation that customers will have to make changes to the colors. I have a hope to get a response from the Oracle, but would welcome all responses.

  Problem solved, and now works in IE9, 8, 7 and ff & chrome. Focusing on the header of the solution was in the base64 encrypted background-image: url('data:image...) During the decryption of the code there are references to #4276 b 5 & 5a92d9 #. I changed my colors and it works now. The complete code is:

• 25 color change question in Internet Explorer theme

  I changed the 4_2.css to theme 25 so that the header is # 671 17 color and the navigation bar is color #333333 to match our color scheme of institutions. This makes perfectly in Firefox and Chrome, but IE 9 shows this under the standard blue colors. I narrowed down it to what follows in the definition of the page header template:

• Cannot open encrypted on Time Machine disk image

  I have an encrypted file protected by password in my Macbook Pro.  The folder name is "Enc.dmg" and is kept in the main Applications folder. If I remove the Time Machine backup before a dmg file, it seems theoretically to save.  But when I later enter Time Machine go to Applications and click on the Enc.dmg file, it opens; It is not mount the disk image and invite me to enter the password.  Instead, a non-functional information is displayed.  The box contains unnecessary information. He tells me it's a dmg file.

  If ever, my computer crashes or is lost or stolen and I can't access my file encrypted on Time Machine, I'll be in big trouble.  Is it possible to actually make a dmg properly function in mode Time Machine?

  You restore the file before trying to open it? It should not open in Time Machine.
