I understand that you want to know how to use Simplepass. As you did not provide your exact model I'm not sure if yours is the fingerprint reader or not so I'll give you both.

HP all-in - One PC - configuration of the HP SimplePass software when there is no fingerprint reader.

I posted this problem from someone else who had the same problem 6 days ago and there still must be a response from HP. The OP has posted his problem a few days previously. Someone took my message about the same problem as the solution to the problem when it was not. Someone else offered a solution to the problem to uninstall specific updates. This solution does not work.
When you try to install the update for Simplepass, I get the following error
Dialog box AppHelp cancelled preventing the application start error - C:\swsetup\sp71729\x64\HP SimplePass.msi
The other forum thread is http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/Installation-Failure/td-p/51984...
I hope that this post receives an answer from HP!
Number of product HP Pavilion Notebook PC [personal information deleted] all known Windows 10 updates have been installed.
Ladies and gentlemen, a solution has been found - kinda sorta maybe.
I went to chat with Joyce. She was asked to take the remote access to my computer. I hesitated because I heard of many horror stories of "technicians" to take control of a computer remotely, but I agree.
It redownloaded the file and installed. However, when the error message came, she did not click on the ok button. Instead, the box has closed. She waited about 30 seconds and viloa, the file has been successfully installed.
Now I don't know if the box instead of clicking on the ok button of closing had something to do with fixing the problem, in fact I seriously doubt. I suspect that an update or another, either Microsoft or HP had more to do with the real difficulty instead of how the error message has been closed. As they say, timing is everything.
However, after you restart the computer, I noticed that in my Start menu, all text was almost invisable when I would click the all Apps. As time passes, it becomes a light gray, then darker and finally white. It comes and goes, not always white, but not always completely invisable. Yet once again, I suspect this has more to do with updates that whatever she did.
BUT here's the part maybe kinda sorta. When I brought this text matter to her attention, she was asked to take the remote again I delivered. Without asking permission, immediately, she went in my Startup tab in the Manager of tasks and begun disabling and activation of the things that I know for an absolute FACT had nothing to do with why the start menu text changed color. Then went to msconfig through the run menu and changed a few things in the service menu. Then it restarted the computer, WITHOUT ANY CARE FOR me! Now, when the computer has been rebooted first of all, I returned to firefox back to chat with her. HP cat re-opened immediately in its own window, leaving the opening screen of firefox with the button restore session in a separate window. When it restarted the computer, I never had the chance to restore my session and I actually lost all tabs through three windows of firefox. I literally lost 5-6 hours work College that I had done previous. Lost as in never went. I tried to rename the previous.js file, but it was too late. All of the tabs, all work has disappeared.
Morale of the store, if you let someone else take control of your computer, make sure that all THE necessary work is recorded first. I lost hours of work I can never go back and will have to start over again. Something like that should NEVER HAPPEN.
Hope that the solution works for those of you are having problems, and I hope that most problems are not created. I know this well, it will be the last time that someone remote access my computer. They can text me what to do in the future!

Problems with HP Simplepass 2011 - HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook Windows 7 64 bit
HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook Windows 7 64 bit
I have this laptop about two years. I had have to rely on the factory affecting several times on circumstances independent-(donjon de Norton Utilities supprimant les registres essentiels). But, recently, I restored to factory setting and updated my Norton Internet Security to the latest version and everything was fine until my fingersensor stop Saw several hours after. He reads is no longer my fingerprint. I am prompted by the software to enter my password by typing only and not in the typing and scanning. Right now my quick launch is based on numbers from 0 to 9. Can someone guide me to recover my software working properly?
You can try to uninstall the driver and the software for Simplepass, then re - install, refer to this guide

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: hp simplepass 2012, do not configure Windows 10
I recently installed the Windows 10 operating system, as many have, and I'm having a problem with SimplePass 2012.
The reader will not be 'new' prints to access my account. (I made a new admin ACCT, after having the issue "Critical Error" with the W10 start menu.)
I tried reinstalling the SP 2012 program to fix any problem of corruption, and the stalls of the reinstall at the stage of "Please wait while Windows configures HP SP 2012."
Any thoughts?
The oldest program of series 6 HP SimplePass not was not written to run on Windows 10 although I heard that it will offer service on the new operating system Windows 10 indeed.
I hope you have at some point in the past remembered to export your Webcards. If it is necessary to remove and then install the SimplePass program, you will need this backup on importation of your Web sites / passwords again in the SimplePass database.
I can offer the following:
===============================================
HP SimplePass upgrade instructions
Read the first page: Dragon Document guidelines
Topic title:
Procedure - updated / (install HP SimplePass Re)
===============================================
General considerations:
- Windows updates must be installed and up-to-date before installing HP SimplePass and / or repair operations
- You can create a Restore Point in order to protect your 'place in the sand '.
- If you have not previously exported your Webcards: you may lose your Webcards (Web site passwords). Assuming you get the program to work, but still manage to lose the existing database, this means that you will have to perhaps start and reset (back) all of your websites and passwords. Proceed at your own risk.
- There are two sets of HP SimplePass:
- AuthenTec series 6 HP SimplePass and Softex series 8 HP SimplePass
- The two series are not compatible with each other
- You cannot migrate from series to series (or back)
- You can "pass" series
======================================================
Driver is first!
The pilot of validity must be (re) installed first, i.e. before the SimplePass program is installed, repaired or otherwise manipulated. It's hardware - fingerprint reader and his driver - be ready when other programs 'come on board'.
Looking for a Driver for sensor of validity at least for Windows 8.1 - better Windows 10. If site supports your computer Web page of the driver does not provide a driver, there may be in the document, you can use a compatible driver.
See the titled subject: Bits and drivers
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HP SimplePass is planned
Next: once you have installed / reinstalled your valid driver and restarted the computer, decide what methods will offer the best chance to get the HP SimplePass working on your computer program.
NOTE: success may require more of an essay or a combination of methods. the program is old and different environments.
- Repair your program's existing HP SimplePass (database) in programs and features
- Download the latest version of the 6 series HP SimplePass and overload manually (installation) program on top of your database (program)
- Remove the program HP SimplePass existing in the system > Reboot > download and install the last programme of the series 6 HP SimplePass > if available, import your file, .tsd (Webcard backup)
Finally:
- Switch to series 8 HP SimplePass for Windows 10. Note that you must reset it, i.e. to create all your passwords site Web from scratch. You cannot 'import' your 6 HP SimplePass in series 8 HP SimplePass series password database. Don't forget: the two series are different programs.

I upgraded to win 10. Everything worked very well. But Simplepass did not work. And after some time dissappeared wireless connectivity. So I drove back. Please advice where I'll get the Simplepass driver to win 10. And why my internet works more brutally.

My HP SimplePass fingerprint reader does not work after the upgrade to Windows 10. Is there a fix for this yet?
I thought about it. The upgrade to Windows apparently damaged 10 HP SimplePass software. Once I uninstalled and reloaded the program, everything started working.

SimplePass works no-ENVY HP dv7-7202tx Notebook
Hi - I have updated my PC Windows 8.1 times back and had no problem with simplepass initially. I then suddenly could not drag my finger and sign in.
I read through some of the conversations are realize others has had a problem too and saw some suggestions to resolve and follow up and was able to download an updated driver and it worked fine until last week when even once it has stopped working.
I am disappointed that HP has NOT solved which I think should have been done long back because people are complained about beginning of 2013 (or before).
I am at a loss to know what do it because, I depended on using this for a lot of my web sites etc. (keep my password in place course), but now I can't use my finger print recognition to make and need to type my master password every time.
I bought this computer for ease of managing my security but HP made me lose confidence in their products, given the battle I faced.
I'm worried about installing any software updated as indicates it a solution because I'm not sure it will solve the problem without deleting my files from data password etc.
The HP team can advise you and if possible contact me directly for this problem.
I chose to discuss this pubically because I think that HP is lying on I think it's a problem they have NOT delt with more proactive in reaching out to the loyal customers like me.
Thank you
Await your response
Hi @noelhensman ,
Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP ENVY dv7-7202tx
Laptop and having problems with the software HP SimplePass Identity Protection could not initialize correctly. I read all the patches in the post previous that you me bound. Thanks for all the information, it is very useful to know what you've already tried.
First thing I would check enable biometric support in this document.
If this does not help, I would say to uninstall HP SimplePass and reinstalled the latest version for Windows 8.1.
Hope it suits it.
Thank you.

HP probook 450 g2: hp simplepass does not
I bought a brand new hp probook 450 g2 pc laptop last week.and than th pass simple version 6 nuts also, I installed his does not not the sensor I does not please hep to solve this problem
darshmorgan wrote:
so why insert it a finger print sensor to these business notebooks.is there any option to enable that works because this note book only for personal use
In response to your questions:
- Laptops of professional quality are equipped with sensors of finger prints for the same reason that consumers rank models offer the feature - biometrics are a method very popular to connect to your computer without having to type a password.
SimplePass software runs on quality consumer laptops.
- Security of client software runs on the professional quality laptops.
Both programs offer some of the same functions.
Options
Install and run the Client Security
OR
If you run Windows 10
and
If you only want / need to connect to the computer with your fingerprint
then
You can set a PIN code and then activate the fingerprint reader to log that ships with the operating system Windows 10
Start / Windows key > settings > accounts > Sign-In Options > PIN
Help:
Add or remove fingerprints - 10 Windows logon
OR
If you do not want to install / use the Client Security software on your computer
and
you do not want to be able to connect to (most) sites without having to type a password,
then
You can buy a password management program
If you want, you can combine security software and password into a single service manager.

Envy dv7: SimplePass Windows 10 Finger Scanner does not
I installed Windows 10 months. I recently installed a "critical" update After the installation of the system, my icon 'start' at the bottom left of my screen don't work anymore. My SimplePass is no longer turned on or worked.
I did a system restore on the eve of the critical update. I still can't use SimplePass.
Is this a known bug? Any suggestions?

Opening statement:
Hello, I had my HP Pavilion Notebook M6 for about 7 months now (got it in December). One of my favorite things to this topic is that it includes a fingerprint scanner pre-installed that I can use to connect to Windows (I have Windows 7 64-bit) or connect to the Web sites I visit frequently (for example: yahoo, google, reddit). The only web browser that I tried that works with it is Firefox (never tried IE because I don't like the interface). Unfortunately, I am a fool and I installed a beta version of Firefox 22 because I read something interesting about it on Reddit. So now, I can't have you connect to sites with my mark more. If possible, could someone tell me how to solve this problem on Firefox or how to get my scanner to work on Chrome?
(Not quite sure what should be here so I'll just give as much information as possible)
Details of the device:
Validity sensors (WBF) (PID = 0018)
HP Simplepass Info:
BioLayer.dll - 6.0.100.257
DataManager.dll - 6.0.100.257
TokenMachine.dll - 6.0.100.257
Version of the driver - 4.3.304.0Information of Firefox:
I don't really know what version of Firefox, I used to run before I downloaded the beta version. The most recent Firefox download, that I had in my files was 17.0.1 07/12/12, but I'm sure that I had updated it more recently than that. I tried to install Firefox 21 and I also tried to use the 17.0.1 installation I've had, but none of them worked.
Other info:
I used to have an icon of HP Simplepass on my address bar of Firefox and when I was on a site where I could use my fingerprint to log in I will be invited with a pop up bar under my toolbar bookmarks asking if I wanted to use my fingerprint to connect and which account I wanted to use.
Final statement:
I am sure that this problem has been solved before and I hate to ask, but I could not understand how to fix it myself or by Googling it. If this is not where I should ask about this, please forgive me and redirect me to where I should ask.
A bit off-topic:
I'm also a bit I was wondering if I could use my scanner to log the games I own (like League of Legends). I don't think I can do it with HP Simplepass however.
Hello!
Thanks for posting in the HP support forum!
The new beta version of Firefox you have installed does not support HP SimplePass and have it turned off.
Please, uninstall any beta version of Firefox or no final version and then back to the stable channel (reinstall the final version - as of today, it should be 21).
Then, reinstall the HP SimplePass (first aid configuratuon, uninstall it then reinstall it)
on Windows 8-> http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03653209
on Windows 7-> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02518653
Restore the configuration, and then try again.
Please, let me know if it works.

(3) I bought for games like pes 16 wwe2k16... they used to run smoothly, but now they are starting to run very slowly after 3 or 4 minutes of play...
I HOPE I'LL GET A SOLUTION... IM VERY TENSE AT THE MOMENT

Impossible to stop HP Simplepass with IE to prompt the user to remember my Web sites
I am running Windows Pro 8.1 on a laptop of ENVY using IExplorer v11.
I use Simplepass (fingerprint recognition) to connect to Windows and that works very well.
I'm diasable Simplepass saving my sites that I use LastPass, but can not disable Simplepass in Internet Explorer.
I disabled the parameters "Connect to my sites" and 'Reminds all my sites automatically' and 'Start up my LaunchSite '.
But Simplepass keeps prompting me to register each site.
I don't have this problem with Chrome, but I need to use IE
I found this solution. Its a work around, but so far works
HP simplepass is used connect me and that's all... LASTPASS manages connections to my Web site.

simplepass lost secret question
I have a HP Envy 15 Notebook PC model: 15z-j100 with Windows 8.1. I forgot the master password AND THE SECRET question answer of. I tried to use the HP Recovery Manager nothing helps. I also downloaded and installed the version 8.00.57 without success. Whenever I'm trying to get into the app continues to ask the main stem. The kicker is... I have yet to add any password to Simplepass. How can I recover it?
Hi PC-beginner,
Thank you for your response.
If it's just the SimplePass sofware, I would try uninstalling and reinstaling it. Here is a link to the page of software and the driver where you can download the SimplePass software to reinstall. HP ENVY 15z-j100 CTO Notebook PC drivers.

SimplePass says password of windows login you entered does not match
I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC model
Product number: A3E83AV
I tried everthing to make this work, Simplepass remembered of my websites, but does not accept
my windows password.
The bios has been updated and have tried different combinations of the validity and Simplepass software sensor driver.
The laptop is running Windows 7 64 bit. I turned the biometrics and disable the windows password.
I use Internet Explorer 10
IM using driver validity 4.3.301 and Simplepass 6.0.100.272
Back someone at - it a real solution for this problem. I went through all the discussion forums and none of them helped.
I upgraded SimplePass version 8.00.57 and my windows login WORKS, it works also for websites but if you connect to a Web site with wrong password and ask simplepass if in memory it will be rember the password wrong. So a little advice: remove simplepass Web site and log back in to the site and ask simplepass to remember the password.
When registering at a website for ex-athletes there is a small delay for simplepass meet and connect.
When I check the biometric devices, ther no listed? I maybe the cause by checking biometric devices turn off before installing simplepass. I followed your instructions stated.
Overall I am satisfied with this work and appreciate your efforts.
