SimplePass works no-ENVY HP dv7-7202tx Notebook

Hi - I have updated my PC Windows 8.1 times back and had no problem with simplepass initially. I then suddenly could not drag my finger and sign in.

I read through some of the conversations are realize others has had a problem too and saw some suggestions to resolve and follow up and was able to download an updated driver and it worked fine until last week when even once it has stopped working.

I am disappointed that HP has NOT solved which I think should have been done long back because people are complained about beginning of 2013 (or before).

I am at a loss to know what do it because, I depended on using this for a lot of my web sites etc. (keep my password in place course), but now I can't use my finger print recognition to make and need to type my master password every time.

I bought this computer for ease of managing my security but HP made me lose confidence in their products, given the battle I faced.

I'm worried about installing any software updated as indicates it a solution because I'm not sure it will solve the problem without deleting my files from data password etc.

The HP team can advise you and if possible contact me directly for this problem.

I chose to discuss this pubically because I think that HP is lying on I think it's a problem they have NOT delt with more proactive in reaching out to the loyal customers like me.

Thank you

Hi @noelhensman ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP ENVY dv7-7202tx

Laptop and having problems with the software HP SimplePass Identity Protection could not initialize correctly. I read all the patches in the post previous that you me bound. Thanks for all the information, it is very useful to know what you've already tried.

First thing I would check enable biometric support in this document.

If this does not help, I would say to uninstall HP SimplePass and reinstalled the latest version for Windows 8.1.

Hope it suits it.

Thank you.

  • HP SimplePass works do not [Windows 8.1]

    Hey,.

I have the edition of hearts HP Envy dv6t-7200.

It came with Windows 8 and the SimplePass worked very well.

Recently, I reinstalled the OS with Windows 8.1 64bits.

I installed the HP SimplePass software and the driver of validity (in the Device Manager I see validity sensors under biometric devices), update to the latest version.

I installed every driver I found on the site of HP support, including the version of the bios.

I checked, and my bios supports biometric devices.

There should not be any interference with the driver software because it is a new copy with just downloaded hp drivers and some software (office, vlc, chrome, etc).

Also, I'm up-to-date with all Windows updates available.

    What happens is:

I open HP SimplePass, it displays a message "looks like you are having some problems. Do you want to retry? »

When I click on Yes and choose a finger, returns the message.

Also, when I try to add a fingerprint in connection options in WIndows, it is also said that year error has occurred.

    Help!

    Hi @Po0oZaQ

I see you are having a problem your HP SimplePass since installing Windows 8.1. Part of the problem is that there is no drivers for Windows 8.1 for your model. Here is the latest version of the Software HP SimplePass Identity Protection and the fingerprint sensor fingerprint validity for Windows 8.1. I recommend you to uninstall what you have and then try this version.

    @hplap2014

If you use the same notebook, then try the links above. If this is not the case please let me know what your product number and I'll see if there are drivers Windows 8.1.

    Checked

Adapter CA / CC -works great

    BATTERY - does not load

IT worked well had no warning on the battery (after a few days after the above mentioned problem I realized the battery does not charge)

    Interpreted Power Reset

RAM (Memmory modules) -replaced New One (4 GB)

It is based on the sequence of flashing of LED Memmory module errors. Reseating the modules memmory (2 GB + 2 GB) doesn't seem to work so I replaced it with a new (4 GB).

I hope that this has nothing to do with the battery. This does not solve the problem.

Appreciated if someone could help. Thanks in advance

    Hello

Unfortunately the "blink" codes are not always an accurate indication of the actual error, so this may be one hardware failure of another component on the motherboard.

    Try the following.

Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery.  Follow the procedure begins on Page 52 of your Interview Guide & Service to remove the battery from the RTC.

Press and hold power for 30 seconds and then leave the laptop for 15 minutes.

Exchange your module memory 4 GB in the other available slot.  Reinsert the RTC battery, replace the cover, plug the power adapter ( Let the main battery at the moment ) and try to start the laptop.

    Any change?

    Kind regards

  • A hard drive SATA 3.0 GB will work on my HP Pavilion dv9500 Notebook?

My C: drive is dead. Fortunately, it was a 500 GB replacement drive, and I kept the old 160 GB disk that came with the unit. I reinstalled the old drive C: and after some hassles (and 55 Microsoft Updates) it works OK, although slowly.

NewEgg offers a 750 GB drive at 7200 RPM for $109.95 (free delivery). Should be bigger and faster, but it's a SATA 3.0 GB. Now peri drive is a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500 GB SATA and it worked fine until it didn't. But I don't know if "3.0 GB" is a speed, a boast or maybe a new spec that does not work on my HP Pavilion dv9500 notebook for 3 years.

    Any information will be appreciated!

    Hello

Do not expect a bump of a SATA 3.0 hard drive speed. Disk transfer rates will be limited by the current SATA interface speed in the DV9500. Linear track density (bits per channel) is another factor with a flow of transfer rate.  I used a SATA 3 SSD in my DV9700t and he has added a significant performance improvement.

Bottom line: a SATA II drive can perform as well in your laptop.  If you want more speed, then install a device of solid state (SSD).

You could try a HDD diagnosis to ensure that you do encounter hardware problems.

  • HP ENVY dv7-7338ea Notebook PC Driver Support after recovery

    Hello

My laptop was starting to slow down so I did a reinstall of windows and wiped my own SSD (I replaced the drive with an SSD HARD original earlier).

For this reason, I don't have a backup partition containing my drivers.

My fingerprint sensor has stopped working.  He said: an error everytime I try to use it even if my fingerprint has been saved in my user as a sign in option accounts.

Where can I get the driver for this?

Also, I now no longer have HP Recovery Manager who had all the drivers.  Where can I download this?

PS. I downloaded all the drivers on the HP site associated with my laptop notebook drivers here

These are the only two things that no longer work, and it would be useful to sort.

    See you soon

You can not download the HP Recovery Manager, because it is only available on the installation of original HP and HP recovery media. Please use the support of HP recovery, you created earlier to return the computer to a factory State. If you create your HP recovery media when you first set up your computer, please contact the official support of HP in your region / country, via the HP portal to support all over the world, to see if the HP recovery support is available for your computer.

Please post of Device Manager "Hardware ID" (text only) for all remaining missing or unknown devices, as shown in the example below.

On March 23, 2015 I finally switched from DSL to Time Warner Cable and the technician who came with us to install it settle on 5 GHz and it worked very well.  However, our iPhones and iPad would not connect at 5 GHz, so in went into their chat room and of the technician TWC changed something on my laptop, then the two seems to work fine so far here.  Then the next day I couldn't connect the my other devices to 5 GHz and everything worked fine again.  Starting yesterday afternoon, only the 2.4 GHz shows on my PC screen and automatically connected to it, but the 5 GHZ does not at all appear.  I spent an hour on the phone with a TWC technician who check the router several times trying it to make it work on my PC but it still does not even show up.  Our other devices are always connected to the range of 5 GHz so the technician specific TWC that my HP laptop does not have a 5 GHz adapter.  That is my question.  Is my laptop has a 5 GHz network card?

    Thank you
