  • HP Envy 14 HEADSET MICROPHONE DOES NOT WORK

Hi, I have a HP Envy 14-1111 nr laptop computer with Windows 7 and I always had problems with working microphones. I plug in my headphones and put plugs in the appropriate ports, including through taking Mic in port with a picture of a headset/microphone. I also put the audio plug on the correct port.

The audio still works fine I can hear things properly from the helmet. But the microphone NEVER WORKS. I made sure the microphone is on and I put the headset microphone as the default recording device, and made sure it's not muted and even tried like 3 different types of helmets, but it still does not work.

My computer recognizes my headset has a microphone when I plug it, because the independent headset appears on my recording devices. But any point the noise I into the microphone, my computer does not recognize him. Basically, it is saying that it cannot detect all the sounds of the mic.

It's incredibly frustrating because I spent money on different microphones, but now I think it's the fault of my computer. Is there something wrong with the microphone/headphone jack? What can I do to fix this?

    Thank you.

Solution: the HP Envy laptop is not a microphone jack, it has a "headphone" which is designed to work with smartphones.

In order to use a headset with microphone with this computer, you need a conversion cable so that you can convert your helmet at the exit of the smartphone. I just ordered it on amazon, it should be here soon.

  • HP Envy 13-d008na: HP Envy 13 - Microphone is not sensitive

    Hi all

After successfully someone solve my first problem with this laptop (involving a defective sensor), I have now decided to address the issue of second and hopefully last, that I had.

My microphone is not sensitive at all - but it works and I'm sure it's a driver problem too. Let me explain.

The microphone has always been quiet. One of the first things I did when I got this laptop last month was Skype, friends, and they said that I sounded very far. I tried a test call to Skype service and when speaking normally could hardly hear my voice. I did some troubleshooting and even with the sensitivity of the microphone up to 100% and boost up to 30dB, I was still with realism unhearable.

It has gotten to the point where I tried to uninstall the drivers, and I discovered that my audio drivers caused the mic for suddenly works perfectly - however resettlement caused reproduce the error uninstalling.

I reinstalled the drivers because I guess the Bang and Olufsen (Realtek) drivers are needed for the audio output of high quality or something else - but I was wondering if there is a difficulty which would allow me to use the microphone with these drivers installed instead of having to uninstall it, whenever I want to use the microphone?

Note: the microphone works, but is not very sensitive and I can just be heard even when I'm shouting in my screen!

    Thank you

    Great work Kelvin2!

I also made sure "Microphone Array" has been defined as peripheral default save too - and with your help it now seems to work brilliantly! That said, this problem has a record of rear entry, but I hope it's fixed

I recently ordered this ssd sata m2 of amazon, but I'm not sure its compatible with my system - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TGIW1XG?psc=1 & redirect = true & ref_ = oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00.

Its a Samsung 850 500 GB M.2 3.5 inch SSD Form Factor 80nm.  Can I use in a configuration to double for my laptop with the current 5400 RPM 1 TB HARD drive already in the system?  Or do I have to use one or the other?  Or can I select a smaller SSD storage for a double configuration?  I have to talk to a technician and he said my system does not support a 128 GB ssd and it did not indicate if it is a double or a single disk configuration.  In my view, it is difficult to imaging a new desire to 2015 with an i7 Quad Core skylake 6700HQ processor supports only a meagre 128 GB SSD.  Any ideas on what my system can support?

I can verify that it works very well. I had HP technology insist that I could use only one hard disk and a maximum capacity of 128 GB. The technicians don't know squat. I use now a configuration double with the operating system and my programs on my 850 m2 sata evo III 500 GB SSD and my data (videos, music and photos) files on the preinstalled 5400 RPM 1 TB HARD drive.

  • IDT Audio Codec time Sound speakers but not with headphones on ENVY DV7 series laptop

I bought my laptop not more than two months ago. Its perfectly played through my helmet literally the day before yesterday.

Only two changes have occurred since then, first of all I accidentally plugged my headphones into the external microphone jack, then I updated the 'Music' for Windows 8 PC application.

After my sound stopped working. I restored my PC to a restore point dated before its no longer works in my helmet, however resonates once again that in my speakers (when my headphones are disconnected). When I plug my headphones, sound no longer plays in my speakers but no sound from my headphones either.

How can I get audio to play through my headphones?

Product name and number: Envy of HP dv7 Notebook PC C2h74UAR #ABA

    Operating system: 64-bit Windows 8

    Error message: None

Changes: 1) update "music" app for Windows 8

    (2) accidentally plugged in headphones and external microphone jack

    Hello

    Try the following.

First of all, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

    Chipset Driver - Windows 8

    When reinstalling, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

IDT Audio Installer - Windows 8.

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio with headphones.

    Kind regards
