  Currently I have Pavilion TouchSmart 11 Notebook with 64-bit Windows 8.1 and series e-all-in-One HP Envy 4500.  I'll upgrade to 10 Windows and amazing that my printer still works with Windows 10 or I have to install a new driver in order for my printer working on the new operating system (Windows, 10).

  I have a HP DV6-6169SL, 10 Windows on a clean install (even you I got exactly the same problem with Windows 8 and 8.1 of Windows AND the Windows 10 after a unpgrade of Windows 8.1), and this (Envy 4500 AIO) printer does not print, constantly popping up a notification that can be translated by "user Intervention required".

  The printer is connect using wireless and it's too far for me to use a cable (and I didn't), then the option 'try with a cable' came out. In addition, a PC running Windows 7 to print without any problems on the same network and with the same parameters. I can also print using Ubuntu without any problem, and I can also use my phone with Android using HP ePrint (incredibly slow, but I think it's because the app is not good enough to stream in a quick way). I can also use HP ePrint to send the document by e-mail (is not a solution but I can't specify most of the settings in this way): it is fair to say that the printer works well, the only problem with the driver for windows.

  I must say that, for now, the only installed cartridge is a black.

  Any help?

  EDIT: I should mention also that I tried to restart the print spooler and I also tried to delete everything in the % temp % without success. I also tried to restart the PC and printer, and just jobs remain in the queue. I also made sure 'use printer offline' is disabled.   I solved the problem. You must manually enter a new standard Ip address for your printer. 10 Windows automatically creates an address that seems to cause the problem.   I bought a new HP ENVY 4500 printer a few days ago and I am having the problem of can't even print a test page from Windows 7 Printer Device Properties with an error message of "Page of Test failed print" and followed the printing result advocatus of "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem. I tried on the two USB connection and wireless WiFi with the same error occurred.

  It seems can be problem of 4500 want a Windows 7 compatibility? as the test of Windows 8 portable printed page!

  An urgent need for help and the only reason to buy this HP Envy 4500 printer because of my old Canon MG2170 broke up with paper serious supply problem, however this new 4500 want impossible even to print a "single page" after struggling for several days!

  I contacted HP support Office and they advised me to contact Microsoft Support to help Windows 7, but the MS support asked me to register for option of premium services for advanced level technical support? I'm helpless and confused in a round and round with a newly purchased HP printer support advice?

  It was very probably administrator rights on the computer, since you had to go around adding to full access to the temp folder. When logged on with administrator rights, you shouldn't do this step.

  The network port in a home environment with a router, usually is TCP/IP.

  So I buy the HP Envy 4500 and I got Office Max, compatibility and get the green light. Although I said that I may have to install updates for Windows 10. Ok. Reasonable. But of course this is a magma down. I try and install the driver but it says another installation is in progress and I need to complete that one before so I can... So I'll install Assistant buzz around all treat stuff with the particular problem but nothing works, because I have a current installation. My guess is that I am still trying to install a driver that can not install but this time prevents me from installing a will. It's so typical.   I understand you're caught in the purgatory of software try to configure your HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-one printer on a Windows 10 PC. I want to help you break out of this loop and finally enjoy your printer in full capacity.

  I recommend you try the following steps:

  Restart your PC.

  Save all files, and restart your PC for a new start.

  Remove temporary files from your PC:

  • Press the Windows key + r
  • Type %temp%, and then press enter
  • Press Ctrl + a to select all files
  • Press Delete
  • Note that some files do not delete - do not worry, this is normal. Simply click ignore that you're prompted.
  • Empty your trash at the end.

  Run the system files check

  • Click here and start a File System Check as directed by Microsoft.

  Download the printer Installation Wizard

  Click here to install the HP printer install wizard (instead of directly using the printer driver). When you run it, this utility will facilitate what I hope it's a smoother and more efficient printer installation. It should recognize the printer to the computer or its direct wireless connectivity usb connection and install the latest driver for Windows 10.

  I'm trying to help a friend who is a senior and has no computer or ISP.  She will receive an iPad tomorrow 3rd generation that is wifi and cellular.  I'm trying to minimize its costs and to believe that she can manage with just cellular data for email little and surfing, she must do to keep in touch with his doctors due to health problems.  She tells me that she wants to be able to print.  With no wifi and no ISP (at least to start) and no way to connect an iPad to a printer with a cable, I searched for a way to print.

  I came across a YouTube video where the guy he says he can print with certain HP printers on your iPad or your iPhone when in a vehicle and away from any wifi.  It calls the function in some printers HP called "direct print".  He referred to HP 5520.  I'm looking at HP 4500 or HP 5530.  I can't find references to "direct print".  Is there another name?  I read in the Forums of Apple that the Envy of printers range are capable of a direct impression of iPhones and iPads.  Is this true?

  Then, before I have buy for my friend, I need to know if it is possible what I want to achieve.  She will be able to print directly to one of these printers (or anyone) by selecting it in the wifi network offers?

  I tried to read the info on the HP website and there are references to send documents to the printer via a kind of HP Server, and even if this can work, it sounds more heavy for her.  She is a total newbie to computer and although I'm not, I have to be able to go home and raise his iPad and running and I want to give him a way to print.

  Hi there and welcome to the forum. The feature you are referring is called "Live wireless" and want 4500 both want 5530 have this feature. When a printer has a wireless direct printing capability means your WiFi (smartphone, Tablet, laptop) compatible devices can connect directly to your printer wireless network without using a wireless router or access point. This sounds like it would work perfectly in the case of your friend who has currently no ISP.   I just bought three HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook & HP Envy 4500 ePrinters for members of the family that I am trying to set up.  (I'm new to cloud computing).  Can I scan documents to PDF at the computer (Chromebook) / E-mail of the printer?  If so, how?  When documents arrive on the computer?  If the scan to e-mail is possible on the devices above, can I store several addresses e-mail ePrint in the printer choose?  Thank you!

  Thanks for shouting it and fast response.    No problem on other issues, it is we are here for.

  1. You will need to manually launch the built-in Web server.  What I've done in the past, it's just mark the ip address of the printer is to click instead of having to manually enter the IP every time. It works best if you set a manual ip address of the printer.  I've included a screenshot.
     1. Click on the "Network" tab in the SAP
     2. Click on 'Network' in the left side menu
     3. Click on 'network address (IP)' in the left side menu
     4. Click 'propose a manual IP address.
     5. Click on "Manual DNS server"
     6. For the server DNS preferred manual please enter 8.8.8.8
     7. For the auxiliary DNS Server Manual please enter 8.8.4.4

  Hello, I have a HP Envy 4500 all in one printer that is only a year and have had many problems with.  Recently, when I turn it on, it displays an error code; 0XB3F4F4F8. I have not found what means this error code. ? I tried to unplug and then turn on to get the Welcome screen, then it said error code and does NOT stop automatically. I have to unplug it to stop it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
