ENVY20-d030: Sound issues

Updates have been posted on my computer I think Sept. 14. sense then, I hear of my headphones and speakers at the same time. I tried several different corrective actions but in vain. Can someone help me fix this?

Hello @BEL1900,

Thanks for the reply.

It looks like a problem with the IDT audio drivers. I couldn't find a version of audio codec IDT for Windows 10. So I did some research on a Microsoft support forum and I found this solution:

  • Access the device driver software manager - right click on IDT high definition audio CODEC - updated.
  • Choose "Browse my computer for driver software" - choose "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
  • Select "High Definition Audio Device" (not IDT high def...)  This is important) and click Next. You get a warning message but answer 'yes '.
  • Once windows have updated driver software, try to play the audio again and check.

Let me know if it works for you. Good luck!

See you soon

A week ago, after I downloaded Win 8.1, I received a notice about the HP updates.  I did the updates, but the next morning, the computer does not start and the ports or the CD player also would not work.  I tried F10 and F12 but got nothing.  I do not remember the specific message there was, but it would not move from the initial start-up phase.  I took it to a repair shop and they told me that the BIOS has been altered, as well as areas of the hard disk; the 4 MB of ram card was also burned (we had a lot of lightning, so I don't know if that had nothing to do with this and no more than technicians).  The MOBO extracted fine.  I replaced the hard drive and let the 2 MB of ram.  Everything seemed fine.

Yesterday, I tried to replace the features and specifications of the factory.  I was last updated drivers and rebooted the computer to complete the installation of the system, but the computer wouldn't even start.  HP turns on but it then immediately goes to an error message "no boot disk was detected or the drive failed.  F10 and F12 nothing else that the CD player and the USB ports seem to be ok.  I remember that the updates was a BIOS.  When you perform this update there was a message to be formatted a sector of the hard disk (sector F) but has no so I cancelled it.

Data sheet (current): Envy20 d030 Touch Smart All-In-one

    Windows 8.1

    64 bit

    2 MB of Ram

    1 TB harddrive

I hope this is enough information for someone to help me.  My questions are; That's happened?  How can I solve this problem?  If I order a HP recovery package that will, as much as there is a new hard drive in the machine.

I'm very frustrated about that.  Not only by problems and my loss of use of my computer, but also costs I hired.  I have had many computers and I'm pretty tech savvy but nothing like this has ever happened to me before.

    Thank you

    Pat - D

    Hello again Pat-D,

The recovery disks will be won't on which hard drive you have installed. Your computer comes with a 1 to SATA HDD with a rotation speed of 7200 RPM. If you have another hard drive in there and recognize your computer, you should be good to go.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • MacBook Pro/Windows 7 driver sound issues

I own a macbook pro, one of the new models of unibody 15 inches and since the installation of Windows 7, I was not able to properly use the microphone (on Windows) and sound acted pretty strange.

The OS x included with my computer installation cd is supposed to install the necessary drivers on the windows side, and it seems to have done that, for the most part, except that I couldn't use the microphone in a multitude of applications. The control panel "sound" recognizes the microphone and shows that the microphone is receive sounds. The small green level bar next to "microphone" move when I make noise, yet no application appears withdraws all the sounds.

After a little research, I gathered that the soundcard in these is actually a Realtek HD card and not a card Cirrus Logic, which is what I had drivers. So I tracked the Realtek driver, I thought I needed, uninstalled the Cirrus Logic driver and installed realtek one. However, this realtek driver does not seem to do anything, because the driver is now just listed as high definition Audio Device, which is the standard windows driver.

Other issues I had with the cirrus logic driver - once I plug the headphones, I can't sound on speakers of the laptop again unless I have restart windows. In addition, if iTunes plays the sound in all other programs in the past and not coming back unless I restart the program.

I guess I need to know if A) I am not mistaken on the Realtek is the right driver, B) cirrus driver is in fact correct and there is another solution for the microphone and other problems or C) there is no hope.

    Thanks in advance.

So it seems that my problem now is that the realtek driver does not work. I downloaded the executable version of the driver first and installed, but when windows restarts, the sound icon at the bottom right has a red cross on it and after a quick diagnosis, he told me there was a problem with the driver. So I downloaded the file .zip of the drivers, uninstalled the 'old' and extracted the new and after a reboot, same thing. Red X.

If I let windows solves the problem, restart, I am back to the driver high definition Audio Device windows and I have no sound from my speakers, that my helmet. And still no microphone function.

  • Weird sound issue on the Satellite P25-S507

For awhile, my sound went on and off. Sometimes I'll start my computer up, and the sound does not illuminate. Sometimes I play a movie or a song, and then the sound will be distorted or just turns off. Can someone help me to fix my sound problem?
    Jcards72510

    Hello

I think that you need to reinstall the audio driver. If this does not help, there may be a hardware problem with the speakers.

Another possibility may be a software that was installed when the problem occurred.

    Hello!

It's not easy to say what the problem is.
First of all, I would like to make a Winamp update if don t have the latest version.
It could also be that it is not compatible with Winamp.

The second problem I would like to defragment the HARD drive.
And you have this problem with all players or special offers?

  • Lenovo G500 no sound issue

Yesterday, Windows updated through Windows updates and I hear no sound from speakers or my helmet. I downloaded and installed the audio driver of Lenovo site and everything was fixed, until I turned off my PC. When I turned it back on, there is no sound again, but re-installing the driver fixed the problem even once. What I have to do this everytime, or is there something more permanent?

Try to uninstall the software (drivers and all software packages), then go to Device Manager and uninstall the sound card. Restart the computer and reinstall the software and drivers. See if who lives across a reboot.

Just got this system 2 days ago. Apparently there is no sound associated with this monitor.  I'll have to buy speakers? I did have a system of office for many years. Where would I plug in speakers? I looked at the back of the monitor. Don't see any type of connection. Please help me!

    Hello:

Yes, you need to buy a set of speakers for computers and they plug into the back of PC Tower, not the monitor.

Here is the link to the section of the motherboard of your PC and the ports are marked as to where things hook up to.

You would connect the speaker plug in port number # 8.

  • Latitude D830 IDT Sound issues

Okay, I give up!  Is there a solution to get the sound on my (now mandatory) D830 with an IDT High Def Audio?  Thank you if someone has an answer.

    MarkGanderton
    I am running XP SP3 I think.

If you know for sure that you are running XP, the operating system doesn't have a native audio driver for audio HD (type in the D830) so you need to install the Sigmatel audio driver, but it will not be installed unless the chipset driver was installed. Then download and install these in this order, with restarts after each:

    1. Dell Notebook System Software

    2. drive chipset Mobile Intelr

    3. driver Sigmatel audio, R171789

If you still have a problem after that, run the audio Dell 32-bit diagnostic tests to verify the audio hardware failure. The tests are probably more on your hard drive, but you can run from the CD-ROM of resources provided with the computer.

  • The bloody sound issue with XP (DV7-2000 series)

OK, if someone has managed to get IDT Audio Codec 100% functional under Windows XP?

    100%, I mean:
    -work the three speakers
    -headhones jack sound
-cut the touch button turns on properly

It's the box of dirty work, or nothing but box works...

sp41398 - is the best driver to date (subwoofer does not work, always red button mute). The fate of two speakers and headphones.
sp43935 - the last driver I could lay my hands on. Subwoofer only doesn't work, no sound from headphone jacks. The mute button is OK.

The problem is obviously not in the drivers (*.sys, *.dll) themselves, but in the registry settings. Maybe the INF files are also well screwed upward. I tried to install sp43935 and returned to some settings in the registry as sp41398. I managed to make the speakers work with the subwoofer (with kind of a sound distortion at high volume levels, however). So I just replaced all the files *.inf sp43935 with sp41398 of the *.inf files and installed the drivers updated the. They acted exactly as sp41398 drivers, although the file *.sys and *.dll from across sp43935 most recent.

Then? Any thoghts? Maybe someone has already solved the problem?

I finally managed to mod the driver for Windows XP, so that it works almost perfectly.

Indicator LED works properly, its fate of headphones, Speaker Subwoofer seems to work and no hack stupid devcon is required.

The only problem now is that the IDT Control Panel works correctly. Well, already it did not work at all.

If there are still users with Windows XP out there who want a better driver, let me know and I'll upload the driver somewhere.

    Hi Alec_1,

You have already tried a reader of alternative media such as VLC media player? In my opinion he of the best player freeware, you can have because it playes all audio and video files. You can download the reader here:

Have you tried updating the audio driver? You can download the latest driver from Toshiba's official website. :)

  • Problems with Vista + Ventrilo, World of WarCraft Sound issues

Hi and Hello, I'm a greedy player world of Warcraft I also do a lot of WoW RAID... It is a Must to use Ventrilo here is the problem

OK when I Ventrilo and headphones connected and when I have World of Warcraft upward and when people start talkin they burst, break and stutter, but when I reduce Wow I can hear them perfectly 100% but when wow is up she usually bad breeze takes several seconds b4, I can actually what they're tryin to say... people tell me it's Vista others tell me that it's a software problem or hardware, I'm so lost and how the hell do I fix this so I can hear everything and all without any interference or decompose?

Well, this can be caused by more than one thing.  It may be that World of Warcraft focuses on your audio hardware.  You can try to reduce the audio settings in WoW to see if this makes the use of Ventrilo better.  It may also be a driver problem.  I would check to make sure that you have the latest drivers for your audio device.  What kind of material is in the coffeemaker you all this running on?  If it is not powerful enough you can often get audio glitches.  WoW itself could have priority on the processor, so that other tasks get less time CPU.  When you reduce WoW, is no longer a priority that is why you can hear everyone Ok.  Usually if your audio hardware is powerful enough or your processor is fast enough, you can do both.

  • Major sound issues in Captivate 4

    Hi all

I have audio problems in Captivate 4:

Please keep in mind that I used Captivate because it was Robodemo and the problems I encountered were not a problem in any previous Version of Captivate.

My OS is Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit

SigmaTel Soundchip in my laptop of Dell Precision

With the help of the Plantronics DSP-400 USB headset

    Adobe Captivate 4.0.1.1658

    (1) when you try to audio recording, calibration and recording does not work; even if my helmet is displayed.

So I download and install Audactiy based on the recommendations here. It works well and has no problem recognizing my helmet and my audio recording. SO I create my audio file and save the WAV and MP3 Versions of my audio file Audactiy.

    (2) when I try to import the Audio files (WAV and MP3) I get "unable to decode / import the selected wav/mp3 file" as error message.

So I guess that Audactiy creates bad exports. OF course they play fine in Windows Media Player. I am trying to import the files WAV Windows and the same mistakes. I get several different MP3 I used for the background in Captivate 3 and still not go.

Someone at - it give me advice on how to proceed. I spent the last 3 hours, research and knowledge Basebut Forums have failed to find a cure.
