Equium A60: white screen on WMP when watching DVDs

When you try to watch a dvd, I get white on windows media player screen, when I use InterActual Player I get the error message saying "unable to initialize your dvd for playback decoder" have tried a number of things to resolve but no joy!

Can someone help me please!

Hello

This error can occur if you do not have a DVD decoder installed. The InterActual program includes no DVD decoder files, so you must have a DVD of work already installed program so that he can use. If you are normally able to watch DVDs on your computer, then you have a DVD decoder.
But it seems that Windows Media Player does not include a DVD decoder.

Why don t you use the WinDVD to watch DVDs? This software is usually able to play the DVD

  • Of crashes/blue Equium A60 laptop screen when the LAN cable is in?

    Hi all
I have a laptop Toshiba Equium A60 which now extends for less than a year.
    I am running WinXp Sp2

Yesterday, my laptop started to plant flashing a blue screen (not the time to see what he says that the computer reboots too quickly).

I found that only apparently failed when the network cable is connected for example if I start the laptop, it will be put in service as usual, but when it starts to communicate with the network/router (I see glancing at blue screens in the lower Task Bar to the right), it crashes. I tried another port on the router but no luck.

Is my network card: Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC

It works well in Safe mode and doesn't crash.

I updated the driver but and it's always the same.

I then decided to restore my laptop to factory/day via the Toshiba Recovery DVD.

When it worked fine all day restored (had internet access via the network) until I clicked on: set up a home network or small business in the control panel. He crashed again in the same way. Now it will crash repeatedly like above.

This could be a problem with my cable?
    Help, please... Any ideas?

    Thank you for the charges,
    Shay

    Hello

If the network connection works fine, it is not necessary to set it up again. I guess there are conflicts and the unit freezes. In my opinion there is no problem with the hardware or with your cable with the network settings.

  • Equium A60 - blue screen at startup

Hi... problem with Equium A60. Running on Windows XP SP2, when I start the computer I see the windows xp logo and then all of a sudden it is blue screen and try to restart. What could be wrong? Any sugessions...

    Thank you

Try to start in safe mode. To do this turn on the unit and start pressing F8 immediately, in the advanced options menu, select Safe mode. Log on as administrator. When safe mode has loaded right click on my computer-properties online-online advanced settings-online Startup Recovery & -online the system failure => to uncheck the box that says automatically restart => click OK.

Then stop and restart normally. Now when it bluescreens, you should be able to see the complete error message. You can have a STOP error with a lot of 0s in it. Write it down. Type the STOP in the Google code or support.microsoft.com and see what happens or post it back here, chances are that in this regard, there is a knockout. unless it's a hardware problem.

I have a Toshiba Equium A60-692. I have updated to XP SP2 and now get up a blue screen at startup with the message that ATI driver ati2dvg is entered in a continuous loop. The Microsoft error report says it is because of incompatible drivers, but I have the latest driver from Toshiba.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Can anyone help? A couple of times in recent weeks my Satellite 3000 X 11 itself has turned off. However, it then displays a white screen when I turn it on and 3 beeps followed by 3 beeps of x x. The power led & battery lights on and the hard drive flashes once - fan does not work - it happened to someone else? Or can someone suggust cause and remedy? Thank you
    Tim

    HI Edward,.

Beep codes are indications that the unit doesn't have his POST processing. The exact cause can only be diagnosed by a qualified Toshiba service agent.

In regards to your hard drive, will find it this located below your optical drive that must be removed first. Remove the screw (F5) the appliance and slide the optical drive before that. You will then be able to access the hard disk.

    Kind regards

  • After turning Equium A60 on screen is black

My equium A60 is turn on and the light for the power is on, but the screen is black and the start of the laptop is not.

Believe me; It's not easy to say what could be the problem on your laptop.
First of all, I recommend to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter from the laptop. Wait several times (15-20 min) and then reconnect all the parts.
Then you could try to start the laptop.
If it won't work, I assume that there is a hardware failure. But to say what s bad a detailed test is necessary.

  • Satellite A60 - white screen Freeze on Boot up

    Hello

My laptop Satellite A60-106 has developed a problem starting up upward. It just hangs on a white to the startup screen until I see all the graphics. It seems that it can access the CD/DVD drive, but any attempt to start with a recovery disk fails in the same white screen and it freezes. I tried the advice from manufacturers that power with the F12 key and another suggestion on the
CD hold down the C key while powering brings the same result.

Nothing other than the white screen. I tried F8 to see if I can get into safe mode but it will not exceed the original deaf of readers and then silence. I can't imagine a way to get it to allow me to pass. I'm sure you can however? I'd be happy to format and reload but if I can't access the drive so how can I do this?

I wanted to increase the RAM, but all the suggestions in the book of the hand do not relate to the layout of my laptop. The small Access window on the bottom of the laptop will not provide sufficient access to the RAM? Poking around the RAM could have induced this white screen lock?

    Thank you
    Charlie

    Hello, Charlie

To be honest you have serious problem and I really don't believe that you can solve alone. It is not easy to say with certainty why white screen occurs at startup to the top. In my opinion there are several reasons responsible for this.
    -Display (electronic LCD screen, cable)
-as far as I know white screen occurs if FL dimmer makes background light but there is no signal display can be defects on the motherboard and there is no video signal

The best thing you can do is to contact the authorized service provider. They check your laptop. They have special tools and there is no problem to know why this happen.

    Good bye

    not better?

  • Equium A100: white screen

Help! My laptop has a totally white screen and I can't get a display. I think it has something to do with my kids! I read the user manual, but am completely blocked. Can someone advise? The caps lock is on and I can't get rid of it either.
    Thank you

    Hello

I guess that your children have changed something. Maybe it s not a malfunction of the equipment.
What you can do is to connect the external monitor to the laptop.
Check if you can see something on the external monitor. You can also try to change the display device with the FN + F5 key combination.

    Help, please!

    Hello

You won't need the codex if you use programs specifically designed for watching DVDs.
The WinDVD or PowerDVD software is a good choice.

  • Equium A60: Blue screen problem

I have a series of A60 Equium (PSA667E), refurbished. There is a blue apearing screen sometimes when I start sending me an error message. I tried to update my BIOS, like the Web site noted. But a message tells me that I have no need, because its already set to level. So, I have the correct BIOS but my problem blue screen persist. What I can do...

    Hi Eduardo,

Can you give a little more information about the error message on blue screen? These usually occur because the operating system has encountered an error serious and can not continue, but without the details of the screen, it is not possible to advise you what to do next.

  • Equium A60: random screen blackouts

    Hey guys & girls,

I recently bought a P4 A60 satellite at Christmas and since then I ve had a small number of growing problems and I was wondering if anyone knows the same thing?

It only worsened recently when windows XP home wouldn t start so I had to use Norton ghost to transfer my work off the laptop computer via a network of my home machine.

After inspecting the safe mode boot log, the computer seems to keep the gel and then restart on an ati.sys driver, but before that I ve had a lot of problems with my screen so I m wondering if it can in fact be hardware related?

symptoms: random screen blackouts (having to close the lid and reopen it to do to turn around).
Unexpected windows failure when loading the ATI drivers to the windows startup.
When I went to use the Toshiba Recovery DVD the screen turns off and he won t come back.

    Help, please

    [Edited by: admin August 6 05 08:12]

    Hello Tom

On this path, it is not easy to say why all this is happening, but after the recovery procedure, everything should be ok again. If there is no success after the recovery procedure you should contact the Service partner. The device has a valid warranty and all costs will be covered.

I guess the recovery procedure is known to you. Honestly I n t understood exactly what you hear with the screen turning off the coast guard and he won t come back. Can you explain to me exactly what happens if you want to retrieve the unit?

  • Equium A300D - white screen

    Hello

    I hope someone can help,
Does not start my Equium A300D - screen is completely empty.

Power and all the lights are light up normally and stay on
Caps lock light flashes once - then nothing
Hard drive blinks once - then nothing
    Fans spin inside
He can't get to the BIOS screen - nothing comes up at all.

I tried another hard drive (don't know why, because he doesn't get to the BIOS screen!)

    tried with or without battery
tried to press several keys (F2, etc.) at startup to the top
tried with an external monitor - nothing
It opens and disconnected the BIOS battery (only for 10 minutes should however - I leave longer?)

Suggestions - machine is under warranty?

    R.

    Hello

First of all, I recommend this paper in your case:
[What steps must be followed if your Toshiba laptop does not start? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=21]

If it doesn t work it appears to be a malfunction of the equipment. It could be mainboard or problem with CPU who knows and it s hard o say in this matter. A mobile technician can check this and give you a detailed answer.

In addition, you can find a list of all providers on the official page of Toshiba.
