Equium L20 - USB 2.0 drivers

Right, done a fresh install of XP on my girlfriends laptop. I've got every update unique Windows available - including all service packs. I also installed every single driver and the patch on the Toshiba site. I literally ran out of drivers to install (before someone directs me to the page pilots!).

Then... uh, there seems to be no way to get USB 2.0 working for this laptop? I searched through all the docs from Toshiba & manuals on this laptop, but nowhere he'll tell me what chipset is installed (which could bring me to the USB 2 drivers), or where the USB 2.0 drivers.

Then... Someone knows:

the chipset of the laptop?
the manufacturer of the USB 2.0 controller?
or just a beautiful link to the download that I need?

I ran a little research through this forum and it seems that I m not the only one with this problem (all items are listed as unresolved?)

Thanks in advance...

Hello

Please don't be crazy about me, but you're the next who cannot understand that there is no USB 2.0 drivers and that you will not find it anywhere. If you check the document instructions facilities with a full list of things that need to be installed did you find the USB 2.0 drivers.

I don't know what problem you have, but for the installation of the OS use Windows XP Home with SP2 integrated only. After doing this install all the stuff following this order of installations. When you install the right chipset driver all USB ports should work. Any substance is available on the Toshiba download page.

INTEL CHIPSET.

  • Equium L20 - Download Driver Toshiba problems

I had to install a new installation of Windows XP Edition family. Problems with HARD drive and I have no backup discs. No problems with installation. All the Windows updates installed.

The question that I find now has loading drivers. In the Device Manager I have three drivers with Code 28 (no drivers installed).

    1. video controller
    2. Ethernet controller
    3. s M Bus

Using the Toshiba Equium L20 downloads drivers I can't install the Intel Chipset which I think will allow other devices to have installed the drivers. The Intel Chipset driver starts to download then gives a message to view the reading gave me on how to install the drivers via a different medium (they say floopy) but I can use CD disc or USB key. Problem is that the jargon is well above my head.

I can access the internet with a wired connection, but impossible to use the wireless device (i.e. controller driver Ethernet not installed). All of the other driversdownloaded and work via downloads driver Toshiba.

Can someone tell me how I can get the Chipset Intel driver to install, in secular terms?

In General, all pilots should be available on [Page Driver Toshiba | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp]

    > S M Bus

    1 graphics card driver
    2 driver Lan
3 chipset (it should be chipset)

  • Equium L20-197 to control the Volume

    HI peeps,

I have a problem with my laptop Equium L20-197 of comrades. When it boots into windows, you get a warning message indicating the canoe access volume control. There is no volume control icon in the taskbar, and I also noticed that in the properties of the sound device and Audio, it says that there is no audio device.

In the Manager devices, section controller audio, video, and game audio codec, audio drivers, legacy video capture, devices, legacy multimedia control devices and video codecs all say they work properly.

I tried the fix windows help for no volume control which is to extend the control files of the disk volume to your Windows Setup incase windows, the file is damaged or missing.
I tried a fresh install of windows.
None of these helped with the same warning as the result every time.

It is true that the audio chip on the motherboard is dead or is there maybe another solution to the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in adavance peeps :)

You said you tried to reinstall fresh Windows operating system.
So can ask now; have you used the Toshiba Recovery CD or did you use the original MS XP CD?

I would have preferred using the Toshiba Recovery CD because all the necessary drivers, tools, and utilities are already preinstalled
You can use the recovery CD to reset the phone to factory settings!
The configuration should work without any serious problem!

In my opinion, it's an easy way to set up the laptop. The whole process would take about 10 minutes.

  • Equium L20: What software do I need to put on speakers?

I recently had to reinstall windows on my Equium L20, and every time I turn it on there is a lot of software, I need for example for speakers and stuff that isn't already on here. It seems stupid, but I inherited this computer from someone else and I don't have any CD, so I would really appreciate someone to tell me what software is needed, what CD it is on (if I can ask the person who has always if they have it), or if there is an additional way to get this software?

The only disks I have are the recovery disc and the additional software that's WinDVD about that.

    Help!

    Hello

If you have installed the operating system from the original CD of Microsoft so it of necessary to install all the drivers of Toshiba. As lorelei has suggested to please visit the Toshiba page driver to download compatible drivers.
Please note that you should install the Toshiba stuff in the right order. Does it mean that s:
    1.) chipset utility
    Common modules 2.)
    Graphic driver 3).
    Audio driver 4.)
    5.), etc.

    Hello

I recently had to re - install Windows XP on my Toshiba Equium L20-197 PSL2ZE. The installation went much until I came to connect to the internet using the built-in wireless lan card. It seems that the driver is not installed for it.

  • Equium L20-197 - wireless connection problems

Have an old Toshiba laptop Equium L20 - 197, running windows XP Home Edition.

It contains an Atheros AR5005G wireless network adapter.

The problem I have is that it will connect to my BT home hub (and says that the connection is excellent), but does not connect to any Web site.

I added a USB 802.11 wireless adapter g to see if I can get a connection there, and it works very well (even if it is interesting only by using the wireless utility Ralink that comes with it - when I tried with the automatic Windows Wireless Configuration, I had the same problem as before - no internet connection - switched back to the Ralink utility and it works fien again).

Internal wireless adapter worked fine, but now do not - any suggestion welcome.

    Thank you very much

    Rob

PS I went to Device Manager and check the updates of pilot, but he told me that he found nothing better than the used version of the driver!

    Hello

There may be some conflicts between internal WLan card and the new external 802.11 g Wireless USB adapter.

If not, you should check the configuration of the Atheros AR5005G wireless network adapter.
In the Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab, you can change the WLAN standard 802. 11 (A B G) on the same which is used by the router.

If the router uses 802.11 G can change this in the Wlan settings too!
Also check the channel. I put the channel on my router and the wireless network card to 11.

You can also try to connect to the router without using a WLan encryption. Of course, this should be done only for the test.

Las, but not the least, update the driver WLan:

  • For Equium L20 factory reset

Recently I went to run a new anti-virus program that I had downloaded, but it said I didn't have enough room to run it. I went to the list of add or remove programs and essentially removed everything that I have ever used, or he said had not been used since 2005.

It seems I accidentally deleted something quite important, and now my internet is not working, my laptop is seen probems marketing, and its just be generally slow and not make it as its meant to do.

I managed to back up everything that I can do a factory reset. the thing is that I bought my laptop used, because I could not afford a new at the time, so I don't have a recovery disk.

My laptop is an Equium L20 - can anyone help?

    > Other ideas?
You can try to contact the nearest authorized service provider. Maybe they can help you.

But to be honest, you need to recovery media. You can use the CD of Microsoft facilities for the installation of the OS. All the drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba supports the page.

  • Equium L20 - cannot complete the recovery procedure - disk error

    Hello

I have a laptop Equium L20 and whats happened is, during a recovery of product, he gets to 25% then emits an error at me and stops working.

Now when I turn on the laptop, I get the Toshiba screen, then nothing.
I was informed that my drive is probably broken and I now no operating system but I am a complete computer novice so don't know how it is.

I took the laptop to PC world a few years ago and they run a recovery of product but I did not my drive, so I want to know is, is it possible to run recovery without the disc?
(seems to me just don't forget the sound by pressing a few buttons)

    If so, how?
And if not what someone have any suggestions as to how I can restore the computer?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    > during a recovery of product, sometimes about 25% then emits an error at me and stops working.

As you mentioned, possibly recovery disk is defective, broken, or similar, this could be the reason why the CD/DVD drive is not able to read the disc and the installation breaks upward.

You cannot get this phone without the recovery disk! It is an old series laptop and it does not support the HARD drive recovery process, as do other mobile most recent.

If you have only two ways to install the Windows operating system; you need to use the Toshiba recovery disc (which seems to be broken) or you can install the operating system by using the Microsoft Windows XP disk.

If install you the operating system using the disk of MS original then you need to install the drivers of Toshiba which are placed on the European driver Toshiba page (look in the archives).

PS: maybe you could try to burn (copy) the recovery disk using another computer.
In some cases of the different drives are able to read scratched discs.
If you want to be successful and if you want to be able to copy the recovery disk, you can then use the new disk in order to restore the operating system on your computer satellite phone.

  • Strange problem using cloned hard drive - Equium L20

I recently cloned the 40 GB Toshiba hard drive in my Equium L20. Boot from the new drive everything starts fine, but for some reason, I can't the LAN or wireless to work!

For example, to view the settings on the wireless generally show a window with 3 tabs, one for services, one for authentication and one for the firewall (I am running XP here). But on the new disc hard, I see two tabs, the Authentication tab is missing. Looking at the Device Manager on the original hard drive - I have two devices as expected, LAN and Wireless, but on the cloned drive here? loads, including loads of trend Miniport drivers too.

It's like something has not just copied, and I don't know where to start!

    Hello

I m not an expert on this subject.
But who knows? Maybe you have cloned the drive properly!
It really seems like you did something wrong.

How do you clone HARD drive?

In my case, I only create an image of a partition C. This partition has been saved as an image .gho file.
I can always use this file and can restore my C partition on each new HARD disk that is installed in my notebook.
    and everything works smoothly!

  • Equium L20-198: need a updated ATi display driver

    Hello

I bought a laptop Equium L20 and being graphics, I notices that there is a serious problem with the features of opengl/directx in terms of vertex shaders.

I create my own 3d applications and I found that shader/pixel pixel programs compile and run quickly on the hardware, but when you compile the vertex shader, they run only on the software that revolves around about 7 fps...

I can't update the driver on the net, at ATi or here at Toshiba... will you be updated video drivers soon? as it is a big problem for me and maybe a big problem for all those people out there whose games, applications dependent on vertex programs...

    Thank you

    Kevin

    Hey Kevin,

I can't help with the complexities of the development of graphics, but you can find drivers for ATI's Omega of some use.

  • I can't install the driver of graphics card on my Equium L20

I recently changed my standard Home Edition comes with my computer windows laptop equium L20 to a Professional Edition that I bought from a third party.

I installed all the drivers except the graphics card. He says this device cannot start. (Code 10). I tried many things to get this working but I couldn't.

    Help, please!

Where did you download the graphics driver?

You must use the drivers published on the page of the Toshiba driver!
Don t use any form site manufacturer s graphics card drivers! These drivers are not compatible and you will not be able to install on the Toshiba laptop.

Please also follow the installation guide lines which are published on the Toshiba driver page in the document "installation instructions"!

  • Equium L20-198: keyboard forgets to put the letters here and there

My laptop Toshiba Equium L20-198 plays up. The keyboard sometimes seems to be a bit lazy and forgets to put the letters here and here. It seems to be worse when you type faster; is this a driver problem? If yes where can I update keyboard drivers?

There seems to be none on the toshiba site. If it is not a driver issue - what is the problem?

    Any ideas anyone?

Don t think that this issue was caused by a defective keyboard driver.
I read some of the comments in this forum on similar keyboard problems on different laptops and especially BIOS update has solved a similar question.
I recommend to check and compare the version of the BIOS of your laptop computer with the version on the Toshiba page.
If it s a newer version then try to update the BIOS, but be careful!
Don't forget to use the good BIOS and the proper procedure because wrong BIOS can damage the motherboard.

And even if it is a wireless switch (and it works IE turns the light on). I have no software or the details of the installed wireless (standard) whatever it is!

Thanks to anyone who repiles in advance as this is driving me crazy!

    Hello

Do you have what OS installed on your Equium L20?

Normally, you can download all the drivers on the Toshiba site. Did you check that?
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

I had a similar error message if I tried to install a new driver from chipset, but it worked if I installed the driver in the Device Manager with the Advanced installation order.
