  I'm having some problems with this laptop and try and work, what to do, I need help with the following:

  Please could someone help me, I recently bought an EQUIUM L40-10 X and it came with windows vista so I erased everything on and put windows xp pro sp2 + and everything works and is installed its similar 100 x faster now and I found all the drivers of the toshibas website, but here's the problem when I press the fn key and F6 & F7 nothing going on the change of brightness dosent! even when I pull the power cord of the light intensity remains at 100% and my battery lasts like 1 hour:(s'il vous plaît ce que quelqu'un sais si theres quelque part je pouvais obtenir une version plus récente de l'utilitaire hotkey?)   I use F1 to start my Equium L40 every time I tun turn it on. It will then start ok but he forgot the time and date, as soon as I update time / date, the computer works perfectly I can access all my email etc accounts without having to put anything.

  The problem started after the replacement of the battery because of that being almost completely dead. I noticed that the computer will not work on AC only without mounted battey but is still charging the battery ok. (if the adapter is ok)

  I love the computer and do not really want to buy a new, but it is very frustrating and tedious when I turn it on.

  Maybe there is a battery backup I can change to fix the problem?

  I have an old Equium L40 that I haven't used in a while.

  Now when I plug the power adapter into the power green led just blinks constantly.
  I checked the blink codes, but I can't find one for mine. It simply turns green for a second then off.
  Then green for a second then off the coast and that constantly.

  I tried to remove the battery for a few minutes and then hold the power button for a minute, but I just get the same result. The adapter is one that came with the laptop and as far as I can tell works very well.

  Other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

  The normal recommendation for the CMOS (RTC) battery is to leave the laptop connected to the power supply at least 12 hours when the main battery is fully charged.
