  I Don t think the biosupdate is the reason for the reduced screen. It does not sound like a software thing, but rather a hardware malfunction.

  Is your normal screen during startup? If so, I'd say just remove your existing display drivers and install the new. But if it s like you described then it must be a hardware problem and the machine should be checked by a technician or at least a service partner.

  Would be better if your bring your machine to an ASP for a checkup of material.

  I m having a problem with my Toshiba M200 laptop, it shows no text display or clear blue/green screen or different models with the connected 10W. But it does not work with the battery. Afer complete the system startup and normal screen if I connect the power 10W then works perfctly ok. The same procedure should be followed evertime I use my laptop.

But I solved this problem by: - antivirus uninstall - uninstall the card NETWORK Marvell driver - reboot - disable NETWORK card in the BIOS - turn off PC - turn on the NETWORK adapter in the BIOS - install the downloaded in another PC Marvell NIC driver - antivirus install now the NETWORK card works again!   I recently switched to a new win 7 Home Premium SP1 (64) my old XP computer which worked well with my printer.  The printer does not work with the new OS and the computer.  Even if the computer indicates that the device is functioning normally, the printer will not accept print orders.  Not even the printer print test.  There is no error reports but the system behaves as if the usb is not connected, even though it is.   There were no changes in connectivity before or after installing new software (or trying) trying to get the new computer set up.

  I just found it and tried the wizard of the printer which also implies that the usb is not connected even though it is.

  The compatibility options have done nothing to help.

  EUREKA!  At the risk of party too early, it seems that I am able to print with my new computer (HP).  Fixed after almost endless hours trying to get my printer to work despite many internet messages saying it could not be done and other giving solutions that didn't work.

  Windows Vista on my DELL laptop at home does not work with my new NETGEAR modem wireless broadband 3 G.  The modem appears in the list of networks, I just errors like: unable to connect, cannot diagnose,... Both devices work perfectly well together when connected by cable but not wireless.  Interestingly, my laptop work, also a DELL but runing Windows XP, works very well with the NETGEAR modem.

  Vista / Netgear wired - work
  Vista / Netgear wireless - does not work
  XP / Netgear wireless - work

  I went through the NETGEAR troubleshooting guide, doing everything from changing the types of security to manually enter the MAC address of the laptop.  I ran to the ground with the NETGEAR support engineers, and they said check with Microsoft.  I am convinced that it has something to do with Vista.  Any ideas?

• U2412M does not work with DVI

  Previously worked perfectly with the following:

  Computer (Windows 7) supplied with monitor connected to monitor with original DVI cable

  Laptop Dell Inspiron 5547 (Windows 8.1) with a HDMI output connected to monitor via an HDMI to DVI I bought from Dell.

  Two computers worked with the VGA cable supplied with the monitor.  Now the VGA is intermittent.  I tested the cable with another computer and there is no problem.

  NOTE: I've never had the monitor connected to 2 computers, while they were on or while the monitor is turned on.

  Now, the monitor doesn't not with DVI - video display. The laptop cannot detect the monitor under control panel > display > screen resolution. It only detects the built-in monitor.  I can't check this on the desktop because there is no video display.

  I also bought a display port > HDMI adapter but read messages explaining the need for a converter, so I'll ignore for now it does not work with DP since I may have the wrong card.

  I followed the instructions to reset and diagnostics to the screen, which makes no difference. The problem is not at all, not only a bad display.

  Is still of Dell do not repair out of warranty monitors? I bought the monitor directly from Dell and I find it rather hard to believe that there is no way to repair $ 300 monitor that is only 3 years old.
