Hello

Restart your computer and boot into safe mode.
Here's how:
Restart
Tap F8 when it restarts
Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode
Press enter
When you are in safe mode, try to observe your computer if the problem persists. If zero, then you would just do a system restore
Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore
Select a date where there is no problem yet. Start the restore and let it finish.
If the problem occurs in safe mode, do get it fixed because it is a hardware problem.

Looks like you are using a laptop and brushing / hit the small cushion that replaces the mouse.  Check the settings for this "pointing device" as the sensitivity can usually be turned down or even turned off the coast while the keyboard is used.  If your driver does not have this facility, there are free programs available that can do the same job.  Bing is your friend.

    Two week old HP Pavilion h8 - 1380t, core i7-3820: 3.60 GHz, 14 GB of memory 1600, Win7 Pro 64-bit.

Keyboard & mouse extremely accurate up until yesterday. KB & mouse connect with internal wireless, not the Receiver USB receiver. Keyboard started erratic behavior: simple typo produced several repetitions of key or other random character; keyboard is unresponsive to the strike and tab; When you type two words, leaving aside the characters, you know that you have entered. Mouse sometimes slow to react and temporarily freezes for several seconds. First, I replaced the batteries, but did not hold the buttons connect for 5 to 10 seconds. I did re - synchronize both today and as I type this, the keyboard and mouse seem to behave normally.  I have been installing new software constantly for two weeks and no doubt have you installed something yesterday. Re-syching may have solved the problem. I'll reply to this post at the end of the day. No idea why the keyboard & mouse would lose sych in the first place?

Hi..., in view of the foregoing, the first step might be to do a restore of the system to the restore point created before the updates were installed. First temporarily disable "' automatic updates in Control Panel" "System and security" - Tour Auto update or disable. Then do the restore and see if the mouse/keyboard etc. to behave normally again.

(This may be a driver on the issue and updates may have caused a problem because the driver has not been updated. You must visit the service for the manufacturer of your pc see if this should do).

Let us know the results of the restoration and we will take it from there... If necessary to reinstall updates one at a time to see if can be isolated.

After my last post, I looked back to the system restore and found more old restore points.  I didn't know that only the most recent have been posted.  Until after the Restore, the keyboard and mouse seem to work very well.

I also uninstalled McAfee and installed a new version, if it had an impact that I don't know.  I have however noticed that the mail program works substantially faster than before, so there is certainly a difference.

In any case, I hope that the problem is solved.  I think that your idea of uninstallng the two devices sounds good so I'll keep in mind.  In the meantime thank you for your interest and your help.

  • MPB 13 early 2015: keyboard, trackpad stopped working

    Hello

I am currently (not quite happy) owner of a Macbook Pro 13 "retina, early 2015, I bought about a year ago.

After a few months of use, the keyboard and the trackpad started to behave erratically:

    • Sometimes the trackpad may stop working.
    • At other times, it is the keyboard that wouldn't work.
    • But most of the time, the keyboard and the trackpad would be lacking.

    A few observations:

    • The question would appear only when I start the computer, or when he wake up from its sleep.
    • When the keyboard and the trackpad has decided to work, they have worked perfectly until I put the computer to sleep or shut it down.
    • Trackpad and keyboard work as expected.
    • Initially, the problem would appear only from time to time, but then he began to be more frequent to the point where the keyboard and the trackpad would never work.
    • During the first week little encounter the problem, plug an external USB device, such as a USB drive, managed to move things to the top and the keyboard/trackpad would raise from the dead. Alas, once the problem became permanent, nothing seems to fix.

What I have tried or verified:

    • I did tried to reset the SMC, NVRAM nothing helps.
    • Boot in single-user mode or failsafe don't change anything.
    • I did check for misbehaving kernel extensions and found nothing. All extensions of kernel in use are Apple.
    • The problem is not related to the installation of third-party software - the set of installed applications is quite small and rarely changes.
    • Hardware diagnosis do not have any problem report.

The problem became really annoying that I had to tote around an external keyboard and the trackpad - sentence a satisfactory 'solution '.

I ended up going in an Apple store, where I was recommended to send my machine for repair in a 'Premium' authorized Apple service center. This service center could not find the question

    (Apparently hit answer by accident)

This service center could not find the problem, and they ended up replacing all of the top folder (including the keyboard and the trackpad). It was less than three months ago.

Initially, it worked flawlessly... until a few weeks ago, when he started to raise its ugly head again. Just from time to time at first, but now, I'm at square one, with a keyboard and trackpad completely non functional.

    A few interesting notes:

    • Again, I have reset the SMC (using the internal keyboard) without success. I want the SHIFT, control option keys and press the power button. Light on the magsafe plug changes color for some time, which indicates that the MSC has been reset indeed. In other words, the system correctly detected that user have pressed the shift, command, and option keys.
    • I then tried to reset the NVRAM. But not the operation fails. Once the computer is on, it seems that the keys are not yet detected. Same thing if I try to boot in single user mode or failsafe. I can only do it by using an external keyboard now. Starting in integrated security mode shows me some cute photos asking me to activate my bluetooth keyboard and trackpad.

    Let's take a look at system.log.

When the macbook, boots or wakes up from his sleep and find the interface for device series, we are greeted with a message similar to:

    21/05/16 22:49:27, 000 kernel [0]: Apple keyboard internal / Trackpad::start successful start

These are the days of beau. However my logs are now filled with messages from the AppleHSSPIController. As I write this from another laptop, I can't paste the log messages

  • Portege R830 - Trackpad/keyboard problem

HI - hope someone can help because I have only a few strands of hair left out!

In the last two weeks, a problem has developed with the trackpad - and maybe my keyboard. Here are some of the symptoms

    1. the cursor on the screen suddenly freezes. If I leave the laptop and work back, and it's not.

    2. If I tap on the keyboard (can simply press the keys or I could be typing in a document) and the cursor may freeze again. During this event the little 'mouse/trackpad' power icon flashes briefly on the screen. If I hit another key (literally anywhere on the keyboard) a number of times (not the model number) the icon can cycle and the slider moves and then freeze again.

It's as if each key on the keyboard is somehow the role of the FnF9 key.

Unfortunately I took the laptop on a business trip recently and this time after initialization the laptop - the cursor was frozen and no amount of pressure button thoughtful or random didn't get going. It is a working battery. That scared the hell out of me.

If I plug in a USB keyboard and mouse and then pressing the keys on this keyboard does not cause the cursor to freeze. But he can do anyway - as described in 1. above.

The F9 key will unlock the cursor (I guess re - turn on the trackpad) - but it won't be long before cycle back again.

I did not drop the phone. There is nothing physically wrong with her. The battery holds its charge and it starts successfully. I did no change of material during the month.

The only button on the keyboard that is not working is the mouse/trackpad power button just above the space bar. It feels a bit depressed - but I think that is how it has always been. Juggle it makes no difference to this bizarre and erratic behavior. But perhaps this is relevant.

    When I tried.

    Reinstall the trackpad driver (Synaptics).

    Reinstall the PVAT (value package).

I even tried to re-imaging of HARD drive to one of these days - and the other just after that I bought the laptop in 2012. Which should have solved if it was a software/driver problem - but it didn't.

One thing I did not, is venturing into the BIOS. Maybe there is something in them?

In Device Manager that everything is listed - no warning at all. There seems to be be no IRQ conflict.

This could be a hardware problem? I read that the keyboards on R830 are quite likely to damage/stoppage of work. A the United Kingdom popular auction site has sellers who claim to have sold more than 40! That's a lot of R830s who have had new keyboards.

I also know that a replacement is a pain, so I hope that's not it.

Someone at - it suggestions? It makes me crazy.

I google extensively and can't come up with anything either. There are the usual raft of people trying to find how to activate the trackpad or disable - but none seem to be struggling with the laptop made for them.

    Help!

    Hello

According to the description of your problem, it seems that the touchpad is disabled automatically.
As you have already mentioned, the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F9 key combination function

Since you have also some keyboard problems, my theory is that there is a problem of keyboard that may be responsible for the touchpad ON / OFF question.

What do you think of this theory?

I put t think there is a software problem because as you already reset the system to the point in time at the beginning (factory settings?). This is why I think that the conflict of software cannot be the reason for this.

  • Questions of Tecra R940 - keyboard and touchpad

TECRA R940: I had problems with my touch pad and the keyboard of the laptop.

The button disables itself allows erratically (usually when entering) and several keys on the keyboard either does not work or does not work (pushing allows it to key ALT keys T and T cannot be typed and pushing key 5 05 typed results).

The catalyst for these issues seems to be related to the automatic updates of Windows. I noticed these problems started after a Windows Automatic Update 12/19/2014 titled "Critical update".

Now, when I uninstall the updated Microsoft Windows security, keyboard problems are fixed (with the exception of the key, which does not work for some reason any).

However, the touch pad problem remains, so using a wireless mouse is now a must.

Should I uninstall and reinstall a new driver for the keyboard and touch pad?

    Hello

The keyboard driver cannot be updated or installed as it s already part of the Windows System.
But from my point of view of a few you need to test the functionality of the keyboard using the external USB keyboard.

In case the external USB keyboard would work correctly, the problem isn't related to the update of the system, but the functioning of the internal keyboard that would require replacement of keyboard.

The touchpad driver should be available on the Toshiba UE driver page. You will find the Alps Electric as well as the driver for the Synaptics touchpad.
