Erratic keyboard DM1Z - 2100 CTO cursor

When you type a phrase, the cursor will jump suddenly and erratically to another location previous in the sentence or paragraph and continue typing as if it were in a position to fix.  No rationale or logic; no specific model or specific letters typed don't - it jumps to another part of the sentence or paragraph on its own.  I used the air compressed on the keyboard to clean out of possible contaminants;  nothing has been spilled on the keyboard.   Anyone facing this problem or have an easy solution to fix?

TIA!

  • Help! Replace HARD drive on Pavilion dm1z-2100 CTO

I've had this laptop for a few years and am very happy with it - recently, I decided that I wanted to replace the 320 GB HARD drive with a third party 256GB SSD.  I created the recovery media of six DVD disc via the HP Recovery Manager, replace the laptop hard drives and booted up with the recovery DVD.  The HP Recovery Manager offers 3 options for reformatting and reinstalling the software on the hard disk: System Recovery, Factory Reset and Image Recovery reduces to a minimum.

Try the system recovery and reduced Image Recovery seemed to work, as he cycled through all 6 DVD recovery and then prompted me to restart.  When I did, the two options by train several times, restarting the computer as usual ended with the prompt "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key".  I tried the Recovery Manager factory reset option and it gave me this error message: "this computer's hard drive is smaller than the original shipped the drive.  The recovery process may not continue. »  (!!)

While HP Recovery Manager is concerned, he seems to have no way to reinstall my OS and start upward with my new SSD.  I don't think that there is not a way around it.  Anyone can shed some light?

    Thank you.

    This is not good.

Did you check the file size of the DVD and make sure it was the full 3. XX GB?

Sometimes you get the message the download is finished, but the downloaded file is smaller than the size it should have been.

    If it is fine...

If you have a 4 GB USB flash drive, go to plan b....

    Just follow these instructions...

Download the MS of W7 USB installation tool and read the instructions on the page to use.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

You may also make this mod as I did if the flash tool-error.

Download the bootsect file form http://www.everettsporting.com/bootsect.zip

You will need to go into Control Panel, select display large icons, go to the icon of folder options, view tab, and select the hidden files and folders option.

Once downloaded, copy the BootSect.exe file in the same folder that contains the file of Windows7-USB-DVD-Download - Tool.exe installed. This file in Windows 7's default installation directory is C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Apps\Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool\

Run the application from the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool as described on the Microsoft Store website. The end result will give you a boot USB flash drive that contains everything you need to install the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

Looks like you are using a laptop and brushing / hit the small cushion that replaces the mouse.  Check the settings for this "pointing device" as the sensitivity can usually be turned down or even turned off the coast while the keyboard is used.  If your driver does not have this facility, there are free programs available that can do the same job.  Bing is your friend.

With this model HP Envy has anyone tried upgrading the card wireless to the 7260HMW of Intel to enable 802.11ac wireless connectivity?

Ain t going to work. This model still has the white list of BIOS that will block the use of any wireless card that isn't: approved by HP; and marked with a part number of HP. I'm sorry.

  • No sounds dm1z-2100 windows XP

I have to stay on XP for now due to operational requirements.  Driver installation messages, etc. have been great and I was able to get about all this work.  The only exception is the audio. I was able to install the UAA Bus for high definition audio driver (which is listed twice in Device Manager), but I can never get the IDT high Definition Audio CODEC to install.  I tried all the drivers that I can find online, and I be getting errors that the installation will be aborted because is not the supported device, device code 10 does not start errors (I see that most of the time), or it says that the device is not present restart.  Is there anything else I can try, or am I just missing something?

I got a driver to work!

First of all, I did everything as described until the driver itself (SAU, etc..)

Then, I started with sp49309 drivers

In the WDM/WinXP/STHDA file. INF, I added the following line:

    ST. DeviceDesc%=STHDA,HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_7605&SUBSYS_103C148B %

In the WDM/WinXP/Sthda.ini file, I added the following line:

    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_111D & DEV_7605 & SUBSYS_103C148B = 92XXM6-F. INI

Then in Device Manager, I right click the driver (I had Audio device with the yellow circle and exclamation point) and selected update driver.

I went to my file sp49309 and selected the STDHDA. INF, and to my amazement, it is installed with no error code.

    I don't have to reboot.

Finally, I went to sounds in the Control Panel, and I can hear sounds!

I have not yet tried something else (or restarted).  Hope this helps someone else.  FYI - choice sp49309 has kind of a guess.  I just looked in the STDHDA. INF file and tried to find codes which have been so close to me (103C148B) as possible and hoped that it would work.

  • erratic keyboard

Caps will start without reason and cap lock light is not on.  Also highlighted will start for no reason (e.g. cannot open just 1 email because everything will highlight and try opening) Furthermore, on web pages.  All the patches?

    Hello

Restart your computer and boot into safe mode.
    Here's how:
    Restart
    Tap F8 when it restarts
Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode
    Press enter
When you are in safe mode, try to observe your computer if the problem persists. If zero, then you would just do a system restore
Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore
Select a date where there is no problem yet. Start the restore and let it finish.
If the problem occurs in safe mode, do get it fixed because it is a hardware problem.

  • Anatel Sony wireless mouse connects erratically with cursor. Battery life is very good. It also seems

Anatel Sony wireless mouse connects erratically with cursor. The battery life is very good. The cursor problem also seems to be making the top and down arrows on my wired keyboard. When the cursor is engaged the arrows will work. When the cursor does not connect correctly the arrows do not work. The surace the mouse is on doesn't seem to be a factor.

  • Cursor jump - is NOT a problem of keyboard!

Windows 8. My mouse jumps at the beginning of almost all fields of text every few seconds. Note that this is not random jumping - the cursor jumps only at the beginning of the field. I say "almost all" because this forum post is the first I've found where it does not. The problem never happens offline programs, the toolbar or login form fields. Only the fields of text in Firefox. Cannot duplicate in Chrome. I was typing stuff in my word processor and then copy and paste to get anything done on my blog or email. Restarted my computer, and then uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. No improvement. I tested and is not remotely to a keyboard problem, such as cursor more jump.

See what is happening in Firefox Safe Mode.

  • erratic wireless keyboard and mouse

    Two week old HP Pavilion h8 - 1380t, core i7-3820: 3.60 GHz, 14 GB of memory 1600, Win7 Pro 64-bit.

Keyboard & mouse extremely accurate up until yesterday. KB & mouse connect with internal wireless, not the Receiver USB receiver. Keyboard started erratic behavior: simple typo produced several repetitions of key or other random character; keyboard is unresponsive to the strike and tab; When you type two words, leaving aside the characters, you know that you have entered. Mouse sometimes slow to react and temporarily freezes for several seconds. First, I replaced the batteries, but did not hold the buttons connect for 5 to 10 seconds. I did re - synchronize both today and as I type this, the keyboard and mouse seem to behave normally.  I have been installing new software constantly for two weeks and no doubt have you installed something yesterday. Re-syching may have solved the problem. I'll reply to this post at the end of the day. No idea why the keyboard & mouse would lose sych in the first place?

My problem with the erratic keyboard & mouse disappeared when I moved the dongle to the USB port on the top rear.

  • When you enter text in a form, that the cursor often jumps before the entered character

    Samsung Galaxy S3 i747m
71 of Firefox and beta (good example, the 7 was presented at the 1, and I had to reposition the cursor)
Swype 1.3.5.x (tried with stock AOSPS keyboard, same result)
The cursor often jumps back from a position when entering text in a web form. This makes entering the numbers and passwords about Impossible. I can reproduce this error regardless of keyboard.

    iamjayakumars which will not help.

We have made several changes to the keyboard input in Firefox 19 and 20. You should be able to find 19 Firefox in the game store as Firefox beta Friday of this week.

  • Cursor jumps to another part of the page or the screen when you type

    Hello

When you type on the keyboard of my laptop cursor will go to a random part of the page or the screen and keep tapping on what I already typed.

I had this problem with a Dell Inspiron, and they provided a patch with has been for the Bios or the touchpad.

Is this a common fault with the Toshiba. I've seen some messages referring to disable the touchpad. However I don't think that this is a solution to the problem and Toshiba should provide a fix.

Does not at any time have my finger on the touchpad while I was seized.

    Hope that answers.

    Huw.

    Hello

As Christopher said use FN + F9 key combination to disable the touchpad. If the problem persists you should contact the Service partner. I'm sure they have more experience with it.

I use two models of laptops different and same happen to me. Not often, but sometimes.

  • TPT2 pointer moves then the bluetooth keyboard is in the range

Starting at TPT2, has just finished Win 8.1, the BIOS updates. Some fan after a few days, only 1 issue so far.

When in range of the keyboard Lenovo BT, the cursor moves at a 45 degree angle down and to the right after pressing the screen with my finger or stylus. A follow-up on the BT keyboard doesn't seem to work at all. Drifting pointer seems to prevent energy savings (stop screen) mode.

I have searched through the forums, disabled BT / wifi cooperation, reduced tenderness, still no love.

    Any other suggestions?

Firgured it pending - uninstalled the Partron TrackPoint driver.

  • Swype keyboard for iOS 9?

Is there a sweep feature or an option available for iOS 9.1 keyboard?

Also, if I need to correct the spelling of a word after you type, I don't see an option to place the cursor between the word and I had to remove the whole word and type it re.

You will need to download an optional keyboard for the Swype keyboard. The link below.

There are two ways to move the cursor.

Hold your finger under the cursor until the magnifying glass appears and then move the slider.

Second, the new IOS 9 is place two fingers on the keyboard and drag the cursor.
