Error #16824: Incorrect Version on the automatic update attempt...

Hi all

OBJECTIVE:

So, here's my problem, I try to auto-update an older software version X v1.0.7 AIR 2.0 SDK Runtime to a new version X v1.0.8 AIR Runtime SDK 2.5.

CONFIGURATION =

Old software X is version 1.0.7 using runtime SDK 2.0. App.XML, as follows:

" < application xmlns =" http://ns.Adobe.com/air/application/2.0 ">

< version > 1.0.7 < / version >

This software X is the case, say to upgrade to version 1.0.8 that suppose to use the AIR 2.5 runtime.

IM using a with tags update.xml file:

" < day xmlns =" http://ns.Adobe.com/air/framework/update/description/1.0 ">
< version > 1.0.8 < / version >

The computer is Mac OS X 10.6.6. running the latest AIR RUNTIME 2.5

The new version of the old X, version 1.0.8 software uses an app.xml as follows:

" < application xmlns =" http://ns.Adobe.com/air/application/2.5 ">
< versionNumber > 1.0.8 < / versionNumber >
< publisherID > #my hidden publisherID # < / publisherID >

The X v1.0.8 software uses the publisherID tag then the software would be recognized as the same software.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

When I run the old software X v1.0.7, it attempts to update and triggers the error 16824. This error is supposed to mean that my version of the new software does not match the version defined in the update.xml file but for me, it's not true... so what's the problem? Can anyone help?

Hello

I just posted on your other thread, but I'll repost for others who might follow along here.  With the release of 2.5, it is a new step required when you update from a version 2.0 or earlier.  Information can be found in this tech doc:

AIR 2 release or earlier to update AIR 2.5 applications infrastructure

Please let me know if you encounter any problems.

  • Microsoft Management Console error: this function is not supported on this system. Also noticed that the automatic updates did not install it and returned error 80070005.

Original title: Microsoft Management Console this feature only is not supported on this system

I am running Vista 32 bit Business since an administrator account.

Recently, I noticed that the automatic updates did not install it and returned error 80070005.   After investigation, I found that I could not open mmc at all and always get the message "this function no is not supported on this system.  No major changes have been made to the configuration to trigger it and I can't watch the event log because it is in the MMC.
I have studied this question in line and tool the following actions, which none worked:
carried out a complete antivirus scan (I use Commodo internet security)
    created another account administrator
    has run SFC (no problem)
has run the registry cleaner (no problem)
has run msconfig.exe and disabled all the startup process
updated windows right click and run as administrator
Started in safe mode and tried all above
After that, I don't know where to go... it doesn't seem to be a download for Windows vista to reinstall mmc.
I have about 50 updates critical, sitting in my windows update that can not install because of this problem.  Can anyone help?

    Hello Helpmehelpme,

First, I would check since it is professional Vista was that computer on a field of work or it was already on an area of work? There may be group policies that are in place that prevent to run MMC.

When did start to happening? Is there anything new on the system which has been introduced into the environment (software, hardware)?

  • Download Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 but the automatic updates do not work.

Hello. Thanks in advance for your help here.

I am at a loss to know what to do.

Recently, I downloaded Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007, which seems to be very well. The problem is the automatic updates do not work. After searching online, I did the start > run > Winver and he says I have Service Pack 3. Then I went to control panel in Add/Remove Programs, and even if it is listed, there is no indication that it is actually installed.

I remember a year or there are problems with SP3, when I tried to upgrade to IE8 so "I THINK" I removed it. Probably shouldn't have done that!  But IE8 has worked fine once I removed it. Microsoft says that we will no longer receive automatic updates to SP2 in June and so we have to upgrade to SP3.  Well, I just don't know what I have on my computer at this point!

Anyway, now I get these failed messages on the updates for the Office:

The 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Update for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB967642)
Update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB951944)
Update of security for Microsoft Office 2007 (KB951550)

So I thought I'd download the SP2.  But I did not know if Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 actually means I have SP2 installed or not.  And I got in such a mess last year I don't want to take any chances again.

I'm sorry that it is a message that is too long. I tried to print screens to attach more information, but that did not work. Let me know what you need.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    Diane

I found more information. Looking in my history of update for automatic updates, all 4 of these updates failed have the same error Code which is: 0 x 80070663.  I don't know if this info helps solve this problem or not, but that's it.

    Hello

    a. you are able to download and install updates in Windows other than Microsoft Office?

If you have SP3 listed in the Windows Version (winver) which ensures that you have Windows XP SP3 installed.

Let us download the updates manually and install them, here are the links to download.

  • A lot of problems since I ran the automatic updates

I had a problem with the automatic updates: all updates to update installed, but for one of them. This is what happened:

The microsoft security update. Error NET framework 1.1 SPI (my computer is a windows XP version 2002 service pack 3, there was also this (KB2698023) with the error.)

Then, the next time I turned on my computer it says error 0 x 643,.

Then error hpqthb08. exe, NET framework, and then application

    KGshare application error,

I decided to uninstall some things in my add/remove program and then run the automatic updates again and he said that I got none, none.  I was surprised and very confused,

AND now, by turning on my computer it says error oxc0150002.

I guess I had a full blown virus now right?  Can someone help me. I can't wait to take my computer to get my computer fixed. My computer has Norton 360 antivirus on it, before this one, I got the Norton one security.

I already spent a lot on this old computer. Can someone help me with these problems?

With the clarification you have provided, I think that Davee had the right idea in the second post, for you to take advantage of the tool .NET Framework. Click on the link provided by Davee and read the guide on how to run the tool of.

  • Windows XP does not install the automatic updates.

    Original title: kopieerfout

After several years, my laptop with Windows XP does not install the automatic updates, giving only a mistake:

    "

Kan het bestand niet naar doelmap copying.

    Everything works OK.

    Thanks for your help

    Everything works OK.

It seems that it is not... Why Dutch? You use or have the corresponding language version installed?

    Free translation of message:

"An error occurred during the copy of the file ntoskrnl.exe
Cannot copy file to destination... »

Please note that ntoskrnl.exe is a process in the cycle of the initial startup on your computer program.

Try to load your "last known good configuration".

The issue is also known to be caused by a short circuit in the ground cable into the keyboard cable. Make sure that it is not the cause of your error by replacing the keyboard with another keyboard or just disconnect the keyboard from the computer. You can also look at your function "Add or remove programs" If KB2686509 <> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686509 > is installed.  Install manually if it is not.

If the above doesn't help, try using the Sfc.exe tool - see here > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747

Or run the Chkdsk tool - see here > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

If still no luck, you may need to restore the file ntoskrnl. exe as follows:

1 - insert the Microsoft Windows XP CD. Note: If you have a recovery CD or a restore CD and not a Microsoft Windows XP CD is probably the procedure below does not solve your problem.

2 - restart the computer and that the computer starts, you should see a message press any key to boot from the CD. When you see this message press any key.

    3. - in the Microsoft Windows XP setup menu, press the R key to enter the recovery console.

4 - Select the operating system you want to set and enter the administrator password.

    5 - type expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32

    6. - you will be asked if you want to overwrite the file, type Y and press enter to replace the file.

7 - type exit to restart the computer.

Hope this helps - good luck!

  • The automatic update on Firefox poses a security problem as they say some sites

I just noticed that some sites say that the automatic update of Firefox is a security risk and I was wondering if it was true

No, it isn't. people work to update firefox to make it better and safer. and most recent version allows to block the pulgin in any page and indicates same elem in a secure page. It therefore becomes safer. Security risk may be running plugins such as java, shockwave etc so only run on trusted sites.

  • computer crashed after the automatic update Tuesday night

    Hi, Kevin

My computer crashed after the automatic update Tuesday evening. The message indicates that the demand for window vista (which initially provided with the Lenovo computer, that I bought new in 2007) is not valid. When I rebooted and you press F5, it offers 3 options 'Security Mode', but no return explicitly beforehand updated status.

I'm not familiar with uninstalling and restoring systems. Can you walk me through the process? Can I uninstall or restore when the computer is in mode security (limited capacity)? How a WAIK/Windows PE image downloaded to another computer to help me with the computer that is out?
