    I replaced the hard drive in the Satellite A205 and used the Toshiba Recovery and disc drivers/Application to re - install the drivers and Windows Vista.

    Is there a conflict with the new hard drive?

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

    It might be possible that there is a conflict with the new HARD drive.
    Try to start Windows Vista is SafeMode (F8-> safe mode)
    Is this possible?

    You can also try to repair the system.
    F8-> fix my computer

    While trying to reinstall Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 of the reinstall DVD after you have installed a hard drive again, I got this message: error message "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error" after starting the system on Windows 7 Recovery. Tried F10, SHIFT F10 and nothing happened. Then I tried a suggestion of virtual Agent to press F8 to get to advance Boot Options, but this option does not appear! Help!

    For Dell cptrs, you will need to press F12 to access the unique Boot Order Menu(= a temporary setting), little after the Dell logo appears on the desktop. U hv only 5 seconds to do, b4 the cptr will automatically initialize to top with the internal HARD disk.

    ....... F12 is usually used to start the cptr since the DVD player or a plugged in USB-flash drive with a Win 7 install or recovery media.

    To permanently change the boot order, you must similarly press F2 to access the full Boot configuration Menu. The default boot device is the internal HARD drive, but this can be changed to DVD player, USB, disk, network drive, etc. F2 is usually used to start the cptr of an external hard drive(= USB HDD) that contains a bootable Linux operating system.

    The message you are getting means that there is some corrupt system files that could not be fixed.  If you look in the CBS.log file , it should tell you which files.  When you do that, you can try to replace the corrupt files.  However this seems to happen whenever you update it a game then you will need to contact their support for aid as this can be a problem for them.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Toshiba laptop start registry error after manual stop

    original title: Toshiba laptop start registry error after manual stop - HELP!

    Hello, I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista.  Yesterday it froze completely upward and I had to manually close (hold the power button until stop you him) twice.  The second time when I tried to restart the came Toshiba screen, then the screen with the little scroll down bar, and then it went black, waited for a while, then flashes a bluescreen with a written up VERY quickly and cycles back to the Toshiba screen.  This time after the scroll bar it gives me white saying the writing system could not restart, and I want to start normally or startup repair. If I restart it through loading files, trying to fix it and said then he wasn't able to fix it and when I look at the details there something on a registry error.

    I really need to solve this problem quickly and desperately want to save all my files if possible because it's our main Mobile family that has all our digital photos on it and they are not saved. (I know, terrible of us).  Can someone help me?

    Thank you

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Data recovery:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
  • Errors in recovery of all-in-one 23-b320 0xe0ef001e and 0 x 80070057 to install new
    I'm really stuck.  I just got a refurbished all-in-one 23-b320 with Windows 8 pre loaded.  Everything worked fine for the first 4 hours.  I applied all the patches from MS and then started the Windows 8.1 update.  23% completed, the hung process.  After 16 hours of no progress, I turned off the desktop computer.  Enter into recovery mode via the Bios, I expected to be able to recover.  The recovery process has failed.
    My next attempt was to have the recovery discs, I've created since a new b320-23 who was also preloaded with Windows 8, but I had updated to Windows 8. 1. the recovery discs are the Windows 8 of his recovery partition.  I used the Recovery Manager to create the floppy disks and Windows has reported that they have been created successfully and verified.  Yes, I have 2 identical models of the all-in-one - 2 parents and it's easier when they both the same pc.  I thought I could use one for the other difficulty.
    The problem is the recovery discs to throw an error halfway recovery - 0xe0ef001e.
    After looking through the forums, I started with a 8.1 Windows installation disc, entered mode to 'Fix the computer', troubleshooting, command-line and use own diskpart and convert a GPT.  Then I went back on the discs of recovery and got the same error.
    Then I thought that maybe I could install Windows 8.1 charges against this record since I've only wiped out all partitions with the clean command and had put in place a new set of partitions.  Once installed, then perhaps the recovery disks would work.  Well, I can get the Windows 8.1 installation to work either.  When I select the partition to install on, he pointed out that "were leaving the disk selected for installation are not in the recommended order.  I proceed and error - 0 x 80070057.
    I deleted the partitions with diskpart own and then tried to allow installation to.  Same result.  When the windows setup program creates the partitions, it throws the same error on the order of the partition and the same error when I say "still".
    I've seen mention of other partitioning tools but have not been able to use all (like kill disk) because they seem to start in DOS and for some reason I can't seem the all-in-one to start in as simple as back soming.  The only things I was able to boot from (with Secure Boot off) are:
    (1) the recovery disks
    (2) disk Windows Installer of 8.1
    (3) Ubuntu 14.04
    All of these are TPG bootable images.  BIOS do not find anything that is not gpt, so anything with the old MBR does not appear in the list of bootable devices.  I tried several different disks from older systems, and none are recognized.
    Note: I discover that I had not enabled support legacy of boot in the bios to have activated it year am now able to boot DOS.  I'll try some of the other tools suggested as a drive to kill.
    I ran through all the diagnostics BIOS and no error found in one of these tests.
    Any suggestions or is this time now to ship to HP for repair or replace?
    Resolved by reinstalling the HDD to the SATA cable and replace the SATA cable to the motherboard.  The cable for the connection to the motherboard was a little loose in the socket.  Once this has been done and the computer back together, the recovery disks works beautifully and restored the image.
  • Error System Recovery Options while trying to install Windows 7 on your laptop white (without os)
    I bought a Toshiba laptop satellite c55-c-174 with no OS on it. Downloaded Windows 7 from msdnaa and bootable usb drive created with PowerISO. Had a lot of trouble with the usb as a boot recognition, but then I changed the boot order to usb is just after the drive hard (i.e. second). Also in the configuration system changed boot at CSM Boot Mode. And it's system BIOS version 5.10.
    Finally, he started installation, but found no drivers. So I tried Startup Repair option. Didn't fix it, just at the point where I tried to access the repair your computer option again it says error System Recovery Options: this version of system recovery options is not compatible with the version of windows that you want to repair. Try to use a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of windows.
    Someone has the power to deal with this?
    Thanks in advance.
    ISO power not recommended to bootable media.  The prompt for drivers almost always means that the media is bad, because all modern SATA drivers are in the installation media.
    I create flash support using Rufus for UEFI/GPT, then start using only the Key of the BIOS Boot Menu.  Choose the UEFI version to the flash stick, then custom Setup, remove all partitions until the space unallocated click beside the AutoShape and start.
    If you have changed all the UEFI BIOS configuration settings, set them in the UEFI firstly, turn off Secure Boot, CSM disabled, Windows Boot Manager set first to start.  If, in case of doubt poster of photos of back and we will help you sort the parameters correctly.  It would be good also update the UEFI firmware like this can matter.
  • I get 80244o1c error after updated windows update
    I recently used the reformat windows 8 setting, "all remove and reinstall windows.
    I have had no problems or issues with the process until I've decided to use windows update to install the necessary updates.
    Update Windows prompted me to upgrade to the latest version. I then downloaded and installed the update and it told me that windows update will automatically close and open again. After the update I went and go to check updates. I filled the boxes updates, I want to install the first. I have install updated partially because I don't have the best internet speed to download all updates at once. But after installing the updates I get only error 8024401c. I tried to use the Troubleshoot utility and restart the computer when you are finished, but I still get the error. I tried all of the solutions in this link http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_update/windows-update-error-code-8024401c/f8b9dc5f-a512-4e74-b41c-d357ca40f9f7. But still nothing.
    Help, please.
    P.S
    I also tried to reset (delete everything and reinstall windows) several times and the recovery of a option restore point until I started the update from windows update. But still no luck.
    Hi Justin,
    Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.
    I appreciate your troubleshooting steps.
    As you said you get a 8024401C error after installing Windows updates.
    I need some information.
    1. What is the brand and model of your computer?
    2. Do you remember the numbers KB installed updates?
    3. What happened when you performed the reset and restore? Do you have an error code or message?
    I suggest you to please provide us with the number of the last update that you have installed on your computer.
    See the link given below to find the number of the update through view update history. Please refer to the appropriate section (how can I find out what updates have been installed).
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Windows-Update-FAQ
    Try the methods.
    Method 1:
    As you have already tried to reinstall your Windows, I still once suggest to run the system update tool as system update scan tool corrects errors of Windows Update in Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008.
    See the link below for the procedure:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947821
    Method 2:
    You can read the following article and try to reset the Windows Update components and check.
    How to reset the Windows Update components?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058
    Warning: This section, method, or task contains steps that tells you how to change the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.     I get the above error while taking backup RMAN Level0. I am able to connect to the database of the catalogue without any problem.
    I already have this registry database command in RMAN prompt. Now I am able to see backup list but I don't know how that DB asking to sign up for today. Until yesterday, the backups were running fine btu today his application to enter the catalog DB.
    Here we manually to connect the catalogue in this way
    rman target $ /.
    RMAN > catalog connection rmanuser/password @ < globalcatalogDB >
    connected.
    After that if I give this command means...
    RMAN > backup from the list of database;
    I get the error I pasted at the earliest.
    Thanks in advance.
    If you do not have a catalog, you need not to save the database. Rely you only on the target database controlfile. If you use a catalog, you must save the target database, but only once. If you sometimes use a catalog - and sometimes not--the appropriate command is RESYNC (although in many cases RMAN automatically done).
    Hello
    Format the HARD drive and try to restore the system using the disk recovery once more.
    If this does not work, then several reasons could be responsible for this problem.
    (1) the recovery discs are corrupted, or not created properly
    (2) the HARD drive or partition is may be defective
    If reocvery discs are defective, then you can order a new one by clicking here:
  • Partition lost after recovery - Satellite L30
    I had two partitions on my HD (Satellite L30-114).
    I used the Toshiba recovery Cd to restore windows back to my laptop. The CD has not offered me a full mode or an Expert as written here http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ350072001GR01.htm he has just recovered without any input on my side!
    After recovery, Windows does not see my second partition. I used the disk management utility, and it is said there are 17 GB of disk unassigned space (this is my second Partition!).
    Can and how can I restore it?
    TX a lot!
    Hello
    It seems that the L30 comes with a new version of the recovery cd.
    I think that the recovery procedure is a bit different than the old with 2 different recovery modes (standard and expert)
    I know a little new recovery procedure because a friend of mine bought a new Satellite with this recovery CD. He asked me for the installation of the laptop and we checked.
    It seems that you must press the setting button after the language selection.
    If you n t use the button setting for the configuration if the recovery procedure will be remove and erase everything on the HARD drive. I think you didn't configure the settings and therefore all the partitions have been deleted.
    Unfortunately I think that there is not much to do. You the partition has been deleted and it of not possible to bring back the lost data.
  • Windows does not start after recovery
    Hey, satellite 1800 started son to have more and more slow to the point where it took close to an hour to boot in Windows. It got to the stage where it seemed that recovery from the CD was the only road - so we did. Everything had to look successful from the point of view of recovery but the installer of Windows XP displays "Please wait...". "with the normal activity of the disc looking for 20-30 seconds and then hangs - no disk activity, the mouse is not responding. I went through the recovery in "expert" mode and don't see any problems with the recovery process. Issues related to the:
    2. what else can I do diagnosis-wise?
    3 which, basically, the recovery process not / (fact he re - format partitions, could it have left a virus?)
    4. I'm better h/w or s/w diags?
    Bitshifter
    Hi Bitshifter,
    topic of your question 3:
    The recovery process replaces the whole HARD drive or even a partition with an image created by Toshiba. This image contains an operating system, drivers, and a few basic programs. All other data (including viruses) in this partition will be deleted.
    question 4:
    I don't know the cause of your problem, but I think it's a hardware problem, because after recovery, there may be incorrect or missing software.
    Sorry I can't give you more information.
    Good luck!
