Error at startup of a new machine virtual of PowerCLI

Hi guys,.

Stupid mistake here, but he has licked me.  I'm sure that it worked before, I am attemping to create multiple virtual machines simultaneously:

New-vm - vmhost labvm06. Domain.com - RunAsync-name TESTSVR4-model PatchW2012TMP - Datastore Lab-CH-pool - rental PatchLab | Start-VM

New-vm - vmhost labvm06. Domain.com - RunAsync - name COBTESTSVR1 - model PatchW2K3R2TMP Datastore Lab-CH-Pool - OSCustomizationspec-COBPatchW2K3R2-PatchLab location | Start-VM

Virtual machines are deployed successfully, however, they don't start and I get an error every time:

Start-VM: the input object cannot be bound to all the settings for the command

because the command does not have the entry or entry in pipeline and its

Properties do not match any parameters that accept entries of pipeline.

Where is my mistake?

With RunAsync - Are you sure that you aren't trying to boot the virtual machine before the end of deployment?

Hi, I had problems with the creation of a new machine virtual (Server 2008 R2).  After the initial creation, I turn on - then starts immediately to the network.  I tried to change the boot order in the BIOS and even removed the NIC via Virtual Machine properties.  I built VMs repeatedly using this method.  I use an ISO DVD that I know, I created works.  I select "connect to E:\. "that is my DVD drive on my laptop and have restarted (loses connection every time the DVD player).  I even changed the type of E1000 VMXNET3 network adapter - makes no difference.

I feel good and truiy perplexed!

    Any ideas?

You can connect the ISO remote only when the virtual machine is running.

I suggest you set a delay (or get into the BIOS), in the property of the VM, press ESC during POST to enter the Boot Menu, select CD but wait to confirm.

Connect the ISO and now start to begin.

  • new machine virtual material v4

    Hi guys,.

I was playing with the new cmd-let VM and didn't see an option to choose which version of HW to create the virtual machine as.

Can you create a virtual machine with v4 in powercli HW?

    see you soon

    DC

No, there is no option to select the HW version in the New - VM cmdlet.

The simplest method is to use the cmdlet New - VM on an ESX/ESXi server where the default HW version is still 4.

An older version of ESX/ESXi in other words.

If you have only servers ESX/ESXi 4.x, you could create a new virtual machine with older versions HW using the method CreateVM_Task in the SDK. But you explictely will specify the HW version!

It is a minimal script (there are numerous other properties in VirtualMachineConfigSpec).

    $folder = Get-Datacenter | Get-Folder | Get-View
    $vmPool = Get-ResourcePool | Get-View

    $vmSpec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualmachineConfigSpec
    $vmSpec.Name = "Test-HW4"
    $vmSpec.Files = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineFileInfo
    $vmSPec.Files.vmPathName = "[datastorename] Test-HW4/Test-HW4.vmx"
    $vmSpec.Version = "vmx-04"

    $folder.CreateVM($vmSpec,$vmPool.MoRef,$null)

  • -Problem of activation Microsoft Office on new machine virtual Windows Vista

I use a MacBook Pro on which I have just updated the Parallels Desktop virtual machine software.  This software has removed the earlier version (doesn't give me a notice, unfortunately, so my Office software deleted it from the virtual machine image).  Now, when I try to run office software in the virtual machine running Vista, I get a notice I need to activate the software.  When I try to activate online, I get a message that I've already activated all copies that I am allowed.  When I try to activate by phone, I'm going to "activate by phone" in the activation wizard, press the 'next' button, but then the activation wizard stops without giving me the phone number.  Help!

  • Error when installing SSO 5.5 on the new Machine

    I tried to install VMware vCenter Single Sign-On VMware-VIMSetup-all 5.5.0 - 5.5.0 - 1312299.iso, and like others, I have a problem. I want to install on a VM Windows Server Datacenter 2008 R2 SP1 64 bit new.

The first time I ran the installer, I display Single Sign-On prerequisite vCenter and realized that my network on the new machine settings were a bit off. So I canceled the installation program, fixed my network, started the Setup program again and this time I got the message "DNS resolution is effective."

Then I continued my way. I select "vCenter Single Sign-On for your first server vCenter Server", it starts to install, the State can "configure SSO components... "and then it shows" restoration of action: ", then"vCenter Single Sign-On the Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error. "All attempts to install later resulted in the same thing.

I've seen some solutions proposed elsewhere, and I've tried:

    • Rename C:\ProgramData\VMware\CIS to CIS.old
    • Run (VMware-VIMSetup-all-5.5.0-1312299.iso)\Single Sign-On\prerequisites\VMware-python.msi (tried right click menu: repair and also uninstall then install))
    • In 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc. \VMware Infrastructure', there is no SSOServer

I have attached vim-sso-msi and vminst.log of %TEMP%. I also found a vminst.log of a directory longer % TEMP %; I joined who as vminst - Temp.log too, in the case where it is useful.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can try, or any other information that might help?

So I think that I just found out the real reason, it was a failure. In the above-mentioned documentation, they say that; "" "^-are not valid characters in a password. But they missed a character: space. I was using a space character in my password.

I tried on the setup of a bunch of times. When one of the invalid characters above is used, Setup will continue anyway. And then launching a 1326 in this another log file that I mentioned. Using a space does the same thing. And it's not as if they are not checking the password at all. If you do not meet the complexity requirements in their documentation, then you get this notice:

I don't know why they accept invalid characters in the installation program. And I don't know why they missed listing the space character as a character not valid in their documentation. It is an ASCII character, after all (0x20).

I tried a few other passwords a long time ago, but I think that was before found this documentation, so I used one of the other characters that are not valid. Or maybe I used another invalid character who is undocumented. If the space is not documented as an invalid character, so who knows how many other invalid characters are?

And so I say to all those who believe that they have the same problem I did:

First of all, make sure that it is the same problem. Check that you have found an error code 1326 in the other file vminst.log, located in a directory above %TEMP%. If you can't find a 1326, then you probably have a different problem.

Then, try other passwords. Do not use the documented invalid characters. And keep in mind that there may be other invalid characters without papers.

The password doesn't have to be the same as the password for the local Windows administrator account. Just, it cannot contain invalid characters without papers.

strange situation has arisen, using this server in a home test lab and pulling other guys working with in virtual machines.

When I copy on a machine of their environment (vmware fusion, workstation or server) machines autostart exit from startup. When it's happened the other day the thought the installation was borked so I did a "default reset" in the console and then set it back up again and it would be autoboot. then we copied a machine more via applications and restarted... machines did not start again. so I went out another 2 GB usb, reloaded esxi5 for that one key and machine works very well. Initially this AM copy a small other nix VM and after a reboot, nothing would be autostart AGAIN. This new machine was not yet established to start at all.

looking at the tab EVENTS in vsphere client after freshboot show only firewall services from and this host agent started... im you see not all errors to indicate something failing.

machines are permanently set on startup. I can manually start their fine after start as well. I'm sure that if I reset by default and reset the network then add to stocks again it works ok, but its really annoying that whenever we get a new in this place. at work, we are always migrate off 4.1 and have never had this problem when migrating virtual machines (although its shared warehouses on, NFS, etc. is not move real data and its created everything in esxi not one of his cousins)

I can't seem to find anything online about this, all refer to the autboot of gui, you can see the attached/embeded photo seems to be the value ok.

  • HP PhotoSmart Essential error at startup

    Hello

Until the other day I had any problems when I start my computer.  A few days when I started the computer I got a pop up titled 'HPPhotosmartEssential' box and it said "Please wait while Windows configures essential HPPhotosmart" and a few seconds later another popup box titled "HPPhotosmartEssential" the following information - "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your personlel provider or support package ".

I have more the OfficeJet J4680 printer installation CD but I don't have the software to download so I opened it upwards and it was installed in the temp folder.  of which I went to start and typed folder and opens this file and follow these steps...

    Open the file "Setup."

Open the folder "Scan". Right click on the "scan" (windows installation package) file and click 'fix '. If no error message appears, once again, right-click on the file and select "install".

Return to the folder and open "bpd_scan" installation folder. Right click on the file 'bpd_scan' (windows installation package) and click 'fix '. If no error message appears, once again, right-click on the file and select "install".

When I clicked on repair I received a new window bpd_scan error message that says: Module C:\Program HP Imaging\bin\hpqebpd2.dll failed to register. HRESULT-2147220473. Please contact support staff. I clicked on OK & following the next step

Return to the folder and open "destinations" installation folder. Repeat the process above and that the repairs happened well.

I restarted the pc but the problem persists.  (I deleted the shortcut of this file that was located in start > programs > startup - I deleted the shortcut of this file (called HP Digital Imaging Monitor).)

I also opened a command prompt (run as administrator) and type in regsvr32 hpqebpd2.dll and who stated DLLRegister Server in hpqebpd2dll.

I restarted the pc, but when I click on the file to open it (even if I do a right click and run as administrator) I still get 2 contextual window boxes.  And when I click OK or cancel the boxes still jump upwards of 3 or 4 times until it stops.

I noticed that when I clicked to run / open this file it will appear in the lower right but I always get these boxes popup several times.

Nothing had changed from one day to the next on the pc so I don't know why the problem occurred suddenly.  I ran several scans online for viruses and malware, as well as a boot scan, but nothing was found.   I have run ccleaner and noticed that he has found a missing DLL to C:\PROGRAM HP IMAGING\bin\HpqSRmon.exe

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with all current updates and is an officejet j4680 printer all-in-one.

Others want a complete uninstall of the software to uninstall Panel or revo control printer and then reinstall the software I don't know what I can do to possibly solve the problem.   The printer software is version 14.

Other possible suggestions or solutions would be very appreciated.

    TIA

I'm glad you responded! I wanted to share with you all what I have solved my problem last night after having carefully followed the steps that I mentioned above. This way I can now explain the steps in a little easier way. When I started to experience this error on startup, I thought it was related to my network because it happened also when I turned the printer on and outside. I have to press OK, Cancel, etc. what felt like 50 times before my error message disappeared. I know it's a different file, but the symptoms are exactly the same, since an uninstall did not resolve the question or fixing things in Device Manager. It seems that the link you have provided very simple steps to a L3 uninstall. The great binding, but I found a simple way for the common user. Here are the steps that I took last night and my computer worked never better:

    1. I did a normal uninstall first. Don't forget if you have a USB cable, wait that uninstalling invite you to remove the cord but also before Setup tell you plug it back in. The complete uninstall took almost 25 minutes.

At the end of the uninstall, you will get a prompt to click 'Finish', however I didn't click it. I've been waiting to restart my computer after I ran the disk cleanup utility in all programs > Accessories > system tools > disk cleanup.  This process took almost an hour.

2 after disk cleanup was complete, I restarted the computer by clicking on the button 'Finish' the HP software that was always on my desk.

    3. after the restart, I followed the link to CCleaner and would like to mention to people not too savvy to be careful by pressing the green button 'Download now' more than once computer. It seems that there are a handful of commercial products that look like they tried to trick you into downloading the software.

    4. once the download is complete, CCleaner has opened and seemed much easier to use than I thought. I chose the tab register on the left, "scanned for any question," then selected difficulty scan after you have backed up files to remove (the software asked me if I wanted to save that I did). Sometimes you can scan up to three times until all problems have been corrected. As easy as it sounds, I still highly recommend reading so much about this product before installing it (see previous posts). This process was done very quickly, so I decided to use the file cleaner as well. Who did take a long time - about 30 minutes.

    5. this time, I rebooted by computer by stopping completely and then back on with the power button. I always liked this method instead of select "restart" your computer.

    6. I have confirmed my operating system on my computer will start and by doing a right click on 'My Computer' and selecting Properties at the bottom of the box grey just to make sure that I do not install the HP bad software. Then everything just re-installed the software at www.hp.com/support by typing the name of my printer tab support and drivers. The whole installation process took 20 minutes and even got an error at the beginning of my extraction process which stated "the Extraction failed. File is corrupted. "My heart is Serra for a bit, but after having clicked on the button"Download"once again, I have had absolutely no problems my network printer installation.

    7. I would like to add, during the installation process, you will see a screen that says 'Click here to customize' and I deselected product Participation, HP Update and some other useless tools, but I kept the driver, the solution, HP Imaging Device Center (which is what was causing my problem) and HP Photosmart Essentials since this is what was causing the problem. I had no problem after that.

    8. Finally, I did a reboot to ensure that all boot errors went away and the computer booted faster than ever with no error. Final test of all the features worked great. I was excited to try these steps on my own last night so that I could provide a way to rephrase things for all those too afraid of getting deep into their computer files. I hope as the method to keep it simple you will also feel because that please don't forget, using third-party software comes with its own risks. Let me know if this does not work, and then we can speak of an uninstall of L3/L4.

Both software & printer worked very well for a long time.  To reinstall the software (yet) as 8500 disappeared from ground Ctr.  Removed all HP using HP uninstall disk, and then click Add/Remove programs.  Restarted the modem and printer.  Install and the latest version of the downloaded software went well.  8500 wireless recognized installation is complete, test page print wireless.  At the exit did not restart. Tried to ground Ctr and above got the error at startup.  I rebooted.  The same problem.  Then, I removed all and tried again with the same result.  HP printers are great - the software I used (in addition to time & different HP printers) makes me absolutely crazy!

Hey Sherich - Id suggest giving the utility Install of Windows 7 to try first and then the doctor of printing & scanning HP. They can be found here: Hp Diagnostic utility's

Let me know if or the other of these tools are able to solve the problem. Otherwise post returns with all new details or error messages, and we can go from there.
