• Updates to 646 - Windows error code "met and unknown error windows.

  I tried to install Windows updates several times and I get the following error message:

  Error code 646-"windows encountered and unknown error."

  I deleted all the elements necessary to make more disk space etc.  I uninstalled a few programs I don't don't need or use.   I did not have the option "accept or deny" license for installation.  Do not know what is happening.

  I was warned by Windows Update I got Microsoft Office 6 "Major updates" dealing with security to download and install.  I am running Vista Home Premium operating system.

  6 updates are listed here:

  You can also try to re - install Office. That might solve your problems, or that we will know if the ir problem from Windows or if there is a problem with Office

  If you know the updates that must be installed, you can manually enter the KB update in the search bar the link to download the update manually.

  If this leaves you too unhappy then made me know Service packs installed for Vista on the computer.
