Hello
I tried to copy and open an Excel file from a floppy disk 3,5 '' diskette in Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3.
I get the following error message: "error copying file or folder: can not copy the MEASUREMENTS: cannot read the source file or disk.»What is the problem with this Excel file? This file is corrupt?
A lot of help is appreciated.
Thank you
Sincerely,
EganYes, the file is probably corrupted. Diskettes - now an obsolete middle - are fragile and often unusable. You can try the disk in the computer of a friend to see if it is readable. If this is the case, copy the file on hard drive of the friend and from there to a USB key. If the disk is not readable in the friend's computer, throw it away. Error copying file or folder: cannot read the source file or disk.
My problem occurs when you try to copy on the same computer I am on (or to a remote drive). I get one of these messages in the dialog "error copying file or folder.
box:
Impossible to copy 'Filename': data error (cyclic redundancy check).
Impossible to copy 'Filename': cannot read the source file or disk.Hey Norton victim,
(a) what is your operating system?(b) what program file you are not able to copy?
As the files are copied, Windows verifies that the data that has been copied are the same as the source files. The cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error occurs when the copied data does not match the original. This could be down to a mistake of the DVD, the disc goes wrong and has failed to 'read' the file properly or the file was placed on a bad sector on your hard drive. (Could be just down to a scratch or some marks on the dvd, maybe clean it if necessary and try again).I would run a check disk (CHKDSK) against the drive to rule that, although lacking - you have another dvd player to try the disc again? If so, try the dvd in another drive, or even a completely different machine to try to pin-point the problem. At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:Chkdsk /rNote: If bad sectors are detected when running check disk utility and attempt recovery of bad sectors is verified during the verification of the drive for errors, data in the bad sector can be lost as they tried to recover bad sectors.

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:
-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file. You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

I use XP Pro SP 3 and I'm having a problem with moving the files from one folder to another, no matter where the folder or files. If I try to move a file, it crashes and it cannot be opened or used. If I move a folder, then crashes all the contents of the folder, and I can't even open the folder, it tells me access is denied, this nothing else. If I try to delete the file, then I get a prompt to error telling me that the file or folder is not accessible, and that access is denied and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If I try to move the files corrupt in another folder, this time I get the message "Unable to move or replace" the file in question and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If it is a document as a text file, then I can open the file and there is a prompt indicating that access is denied. I can then use the text document and save something, but if I close the document and then try to reopen it, all the changes are lost.
It is not this problem if I move the files to an external device or disk drive.
I am running as an administrator.
Right now, if I need to move a file, I copy it to its destination, which is possible and then delete the original file. With the help of a release program was the only way I could delete these files, which could no longer be used.Hello Closrapexa, welcome.
1. do you have this problem started recently?I recommend trying the system restore to bring the system back to a State before the problem started. Try this:1. click on START2. click on "all programs".3. click on "Accessories".4. click on "system tools."5. click on "system restore."6 follow the prompts shown to restore your system to a date before the problem started. Although the system restore does not target the personal data, it is recommended that you back up all data such as music, photos and documents in case something is not bad.Let us know what happensThank you!Ryan Thieman

try to share files and folders between my laptop and my pc... When I try to access partitions shared between them = I got this msg: "you don't have permission to access the file or folder you are trying to access. Contact your network administrator to request access"can u help?
Hello
Follow these steps:
Step 1: Make this file and printer sharing is enabled, computers.
Follow the steps listed in the link below to check the parameters and the essential elements to share files over the network:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/file-sharing-essentialsAlso check if network discovery is enabled, the computer. Steps to follow:
i. click on Start, click on Control Panel.
II. Select network and sharing Center
III. Select change advanced sharing settings
(IV) in respect of network discovery, select Enable network discovery
Step 2: check the sharing permission on the shared folder.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/share-files-with-someoneStep 3: you can also try to disable your firewall program and security and then try to access to the shared folder. Make sure that you activate it if this step does not help.
Note: Antivirus/Firewall software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks. In addition, see these articles:

Unlock the file and folder attribute does not work in LV 2012
Hello
I use unlock attribute to unlock a file (defined in the specification to build installer-> settings of the Source file-> file and folder attributes). This Setup program installs the application in Program Files (Win7 x 64) and when the application is started it creates a file in the folder "unlocked". I've used it several times with LV 2011, but it does not work with LV 2012 (the folder is not unlocked)? An example for LV 2012 (without installation) is fixed, the same example works if I build with LV 2011.
I received an email from support TODAY:
"As we have it, I analyzed the behavior you described ' unlock folders and files not working not. '"
The error could be reproduced. It was also successfully detected and documented.
The development team is working on this and the next update may have already solved this problem. »I hope that this will soon be :-).
