  Hello, I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit with SP2 and recently met a problem trying to get windows updates. I spent days reading post and the windows support and community application solves nothing doesn't. I receive the error 80246008 so they were trying to get updates. I followed of many positions and patches with a limited degree of success recommended. I have windows update to activate and my COM + service is on and working but my smart information transfer Service does not appear in my register and the list of services. I saw the patches for other versions of windows, but not for Vista, maybe I'm just blind? Any help would be greatly appreciated even if your just pointing me in the right direction. On another note, I can't get MSE update of virus definitions, related question, I guess?   However, the key of the full version allows to download the installer of Windows 8 and create a Windows 8 boot disk to install a full version of the operating system.

  According to your description, you have reinstalled the hard drive on your machine and want to install Windows 8 by creating a bootable. Thus, you will always have the above error message while downloading executable files for Windows 8.

  There are two options you can try to install Windows 8 on your system:
