  So I moved recently all my photos on a new portable hard drive.  On this, there is 3706 files (RAW, JPG and TIFF).  I have imported just them and import shows 3204, basically a difference of 500 photos.  Have you tried checking and unchecking suspected duplicates and a number of other things.  Everyone knows about this problem?  Suggestions?  Thank you!

  Could that be JPG files are not to be seen and or no distinct way to RAW image files. There is an option in LR preferences to treat JPGs as separate files. Check this option and see if you get now all images in the import dialog.

  I met a troubling problem when you import data tables in InDesign from Excel. This is the standard binder with named tabs. The value-"1.0" will not import into InDesign. he refuses. If manually, I go in the Excel file and change the cell containing the value of 'Number' to 'Text' it will be important, but it's not scalable or possible when monthly reports comes through and dozens of tables are automatically transmitted to.

  Is this a know bug? I can't find details online.

  I also tested on InDesign CS6 and Windows as well. I am answering it/update in order to help someone else having the same problem.

  I continued troubleshooting Excel files and determined using the .xlsx extension are the main culprit.

  All the data of fine imports during registration as .xls (97-2004)

  HY, I have a problem with the getDefinitionByName(). I am trying to create an instance of 'Question' (as a class) but I get the "ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable is not defined." error. In fact, I get this error with each class, I have try except for the swc files and classes that do not need import: int, number, String, etc.

• do not remember the imported photos in Lightroom

  I have this strange thing started happening a few days ago

  When you import into LR, (64 bit of windows 10 CC2015.3) directly from an SD card inserted in a bed in the card slot, the application does not remember photos that I already imported.  I have 200 photos, import a number of them, say 40.  Make sure that I clicked on "new photos", but all THE photos appear. At first I thought that the camera musemum shots when he wrote, but is not the issue. I close LR and restarted the computer. This happens on 2 different cards, 2 different cameras.

• Import and copy from one catalog to another has some problems-help please

  Hi people,

  I have two catologs on two different disks. I imported a number of raw images from one to another using the copy. He did also copy xmp files, but most of the images do not appear to have been developed. I did something wrong? Is this a new stage so these images acknowledge the work accomplished since the xmp file?

  Second, the virtual copies have been copied not more as well. They are in the first catalog, but not when I imported and copied.

  Help please while I can still understand what images I imported because they are in every sense, and maybe I need to recreate my steps.

  You import or catalog? You need to do the latter.

  

  If you are importing a catalog, remove the images that you have brought to and use the above menu option.

• Sony camera and the memory card

  I imported a number of photos of my Sony Cyber Shot DSC RX 100 to my Windows 7 photo gallery. Somewhere in the process, I shot some of them. I imported directly from my memory card. Now when I try to view pictures in my camera, it says "cannot display" - the error message also said on another "unable to turn" screen. Does anyone have any ideas about what happened and I can recover these photos in original size on my card?

  Looks like you did with the camera connected to the computer and Windows to change the format (turn).  I don't think you can export these back to the camera.  With the large capacity memory cards, I suggest you not to change the pictures on the memory card and keep for a while before deleting.

  Suggestion:

  Do not connect your camera to your computer.  Buy a memory card reader - they are inexpensive.  In fact, most modern computers have a built-in SD card reader.   Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it in the drive.  Connect the player to your computer and treat it like any other thumb drive USB.  The card reader is small and fits easily in your case of the camera, much better that the cables and such.

  Much faster, without fussing over the drivers, no battery worries.  This also means that you don't have to install anything on any computer to be able to copy your photos.  It also lets you remove the lightening fast compared to in the camera memory card.  Most of the software that comes with cameras is terrible.

• Lightroom questions?

  Hi all, would appreciate any input. My Lightroom seems to be falling apart! Just got in return for a photo shoot big and downloaded some 3000 images from around 6 SD cards. The questions are:

  • Significant time lag in loading library mode.
  • Pictures impossible to render in library mode. (Loading... the wheel of death! Followed by: "There was an error with this picture").
  • Rendering a lot of time developing mode for a number of photos.
  • Failure to develop photos in develop mode
  • Slow to send to photoshop and then a problem with the backup of photoshop. (Extremely slow to save Photoshop).
  • Failure to publish on Flikr - "cannot update this collection... document is empty.

  Set up:

  Photos on external hard drive: LaCie (free 1 TB)

  Mac OSX 10.7.5. (2011 model)

  Lightroom 5 (2014 license version). some 24 000 pictures.

  Photoshop CC 2014. (Both were compatible so far, although I've mainly used Lightroom).

  Action taken:

  • Update software for Mac and Lightroom.

  Check the available disk space on the Macintosh hard drive.

  Check the health of the external and internal drives.

  Use another external drive, a new one formatted for Mac (Mac OS extended (journaled)), and to create a catalogue of test and import X number of images to him.

  (1) we create a FLA that contains a bunch of components and graphics on the stage, with all that in the library of the export for DURATION value sharing project with unique names. We title the exported swf lib.swf.

  (2) we create a new FLA project and import a number of these files in the library in our new library.

  (3) I do a right-click on one of them and go to its properties and that it is checked Import for run-time sharing, but the URL is empty.

  (4) I enter lib.swf URL and click OK.

  (5) when I click with the right button on it and distributed to its properties, I see that once more it is checked as an import for the sharing of life, but the URL is empty.

  Sometimes I can compile even despite this, but usually I'm running an error in compilation where Flash tells me that there is no definition available for one of my Articles of imported library.

  I had the same problem and found that if I set an absolute path or relative in the properties of the symbol, Runtime Shared Library, URL field, then the URL of the import has been postponed in the other document and everything worked properly.
