error in media player 12 with wmdoc.dll worm 12.0.7601.17514 is fake, right 12.0.7600.16667 but wmdoc.dll is missing

Media Player on Windows 7 Ultimate will not launch with error message wmdoc.dll worm 12.0.7601.17514 is fake, right wmdoc.dll 12.0.7600.16667 but it lacks. The system of Fix - It Microsoft unble correct the error. Thank you! Martin Fiala

The name of the file actually is wmploc.dll, and the following solution works in most cases:

a. reboot your system.
b. open cmd.exe as an administrator by selecting Start Programs/Accessories.
c. right-click on command prompt and choose Run as administrator.
d. type in
Unregmp2.exe /UpdateWMPVersion
e. press on enter and check.

Original title: WMP "can't play wav or midi.

Using WMP 11 on Windows XP SP3.

Windows Media Player has somehow forgotten how to play wav or midi files. Doubleclicking either of these file types give an error "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file. " There is a button 'Close' and 'Web Help' which still informs me, "you met the C00D1199 error message... ". ». Following the advice given nothing less than useful.

I can easily play these files with RealPlayer or VLC so I don't think it's a driver problem, and it wasn't a corruption right after installing the other players. WMP seems to work OK when playing music or AVI. And there is no harm to hear a sound (wav or midi) in Windows for various system events. Have already uninstalled/reinstalled WMP without result.

    Thanks for your reply.

I have since determeined the problem comes from an updated codec package I installed a few weeks ago. These codecs were from Shark007 which I believe is a Microsoft MVP. Use the codecs from this site for a number of years without any problems so I did not initially suspect it was the source of the problem. I uninstalled the codec pack and installed K-light package and everything seems to be Ok now. Now, I'll be in contact with the members of this forum.

You can try the options under the view menu to change the available on the computer visualizations. When you play the files in 'Now Playing mode', make a right click anywhere within the interface on Windows Media player and go to visualization. May be that the video file format is not compatible with Windows Media Player.

    Options: -.

1] download and install VLC Player. It's free and supports file formats more than WMP.

2] download and install the codecs

Personally, I prefer VLC Player-if you have that then not need to download and install the codec of any third party.

  • Problems with error Windows Media Player, that Windows Media Player is not installed on the computer.

We have a computer that is running Windows 7 and (I think) Windows Media Player 12.  When I start ==> all programs ==> windows media player, the program starts and it seems to work.  It is a work computer, so no video or audio file is saved.

We have an online seminar that the user wants to participate in, and when we click on the link to get the webinar, an error message appears saying that Windows Media Player is not installed on the computer.

We use Firefox (version reasonably updated, but do not know which) for internet.

I used the "fix it" tool on the website of Microsoft, but that does not solve anything.  He said it sets some configuration settings.  I thought that maybe uninstall and reinstall it can work, but I can't understand completely uninstall because it isn't in my list of programs in the control panel.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

    Nolan

    (Moved to programs)

Uninstall and reinstall could be done by searching for and opening the option "turn on or off Windows features", but I don't think it will help.

Instead, what you need is a Windows Media Player plugin for your browser (Firefox).

But before you spend effort on it, I would test to see if it's really the solution.  Try to join your webinar with Internet Explorer (where the WMP plugin is built).  If it works, you can be reasonably sure to know how to make it work with Firefox.

Is it a problem of Windows 7, media player problem or what?
    VERY FRUSTRATED

    Hello

Do you get specific error messages?

I suggest you try the following steps:

Method 1: Run the tool fixit from the below mentioned link.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic/

Method 2: re-save the files associated with Windows Media Player. To do this, follow the steps below.

    a. Click Start in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    b. at the command prompt type regsvr32 wmp.dll , and then press ENTER.

Type regsvr32jscript.dll , and then press enter

Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll , and then press enter

Restart the computer and check if the problem is resolved.

Method 3: The System File Checker (SFC) utility allows administrators to perform an analysis of all protected resources to make sure they are the correct version. Whether SFC should find all incorrect versions in one of these protected resources, SFC will be replaced by the correct versions.

You can still run a SFC scan on the windows vista computer. To run a scan suite SFC as follows:
