I locked myself out of my computer! I forgot my password help pls!

I had to put a password on my computer because my son kept while I SLEEP...  Now, I've disconnected and don't remember my password...  I don't have a recovery disk and I don't know what to do... Help, please.

Start the computer in safe mode and log on to the built-in account named administrator .  You will need to know the password, if any, for this account.  Once, go to Panel > user accounts and change the password for your regular account.

Then, restart the computer and you connect to your regular account with the new password.  If the computer has a floppy drive, you can make a password reset disk

I forgot my password and can't get into my computer. I am now using the guest account. Help, please! What can I do?

    Hi Janie,

    1. How user account you use on the computer?

If you use a local account, you can use your password as a reminder hint. Check if shift caps lock is enabled. I suggest to use on-screen keyboard and try logging on your local account and check if it helps. Follow these steps.

    1. On the login screen, click on ease of access button on the lower left corner of the screen.

    2. Click on on-screen keyboard (OSK).

    3. Try to enter the password using OSK and check.

  • I locked myself out of my laptop

I moved about 6 weeks ago and you have not used my laptop at the moment.  I got finially service and don't remember my password to get on computer.  I've tried everything.  I took out my old laptop to ask for help.

    Hello

About the laptop that you forgot the password, because, if you use to sign him with an email and password, the Microsoft link in my previous post will allow you to reset the password (as long as you don't forget the associated email) using another PC.

If you use to sign up with a local account, just use another PC to create the reset utility linked in my previous post, and once completed, start Notepad, you are blocked on disk/flash player and follow the instructions to reset the password.

Another solution would be to just reset the machine to its factory condition - the three main ways to do this are detailed in the document at the link below.

If you have another account administrative privileges in your system, then login and go to the command prompt

At the command prompt, type "net user administrator *" without the quotes and press ENTER. It asks for a new password entered in and confirm the same.

Sign in to the account administrator with this password.

If this fails, you can try buying some records available online password reset.

    Hello
I suggest you to see these steps:

    • Press right on your mouse button when your desktop is visible. A menu will appear.
    • Move your mouse to the bottom of the menu and click on the word "Properties".
    • Look at the tabs under the marked blue title bar "display properties". You should be able to see one marked "screen saver". Click the screen saver tab once. You should now see a small monitor.
    • Look for the dropdown next to the marked buttons 'Settings' and 'Preview '. Click on the arrow down on the right side of the menu drop down.
    • Look at the list of available screensavers. The first menu is marked '(none) '. Click on this title. Once you have clicked on the title, the "Apply" button will become operational.
    • Click on the button apply. Close the display properties window and the Control Panel window. You have now properly disabled your screen saver.

  • Lock shift out of synchronization with the 2008 Server RDP session

    Hello

A few of our users have problems with their caps lock being out of sync with their RDP session, that is to say if their keyboard displays light as being off, they type and get capital letters when they press the SHIFT key on their keyboard to stop the caps lock lights up and they then type in lowercase.  I can't find any resolution on the web about what is happening in a 2008 R2 server environment.

    Can anyone help?

  • In Windows Media Player when I try to listen to a CD that I pulled it out of my computer, a new tab opens in Firefox "license cannot be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.

I use Windows Media Player 11 and I have Internet Explorer 8 is installed on XP Pro and when I try to listen to a CD that I pulled it out of my computer, a new tab opens in Firefox (my default browser), with the following message:

The license can not be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.
To download a license, you must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later.
To install the latest version of Internet Explorer, see the Windows Update page.

What do I need any type of license to, to listen to music, I ripped a CD I bought, and furthermore that the browser has to do with what ever automated procedure Microsoft Media Player must perform?

Suspecting that not having IE selected as the default browser might be interfering, I did so (something I'm not impressed about) and instead, was taken through to a Windows Media Technologies page http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/pdrm/en/welcome.asp?challenge=AAEAAZB*vUQ029QDmL5QfLzVnjGCf9din34fu*twoJQKPK0Agme7r3JqmhpZNJIHdVJ3JF20CQEtGSO6im53G7MUAjceYDRQUZXp2ghI5bYyB7kJjpvQoHFJNtNRWAvEXvv!fk7GbENwhn1K0gzMvWstLFBf3Esp9laOTsOCLqO7FqCfeYinJkeEGUevauivoM3NLAJOP4exrtgQX4zeRcujxi7W7AmLGDNRhh2qEgP1WmXh2PkzNZXwSn3QznsTK8!up58P10sX&DRMVer=1.4&embedded=false that provided some information about Licensing and Migrations and offered the opportunity to Download a License.  However, after selecting this button has encountered an error: 438 unknown error occurred when you store your license.

Where are the stored licenses and why this is happening with all the music I have on my computer?

I would appreciate an overview of this and especially a viable solution.  Thanks for your time.

Thank you.  I found my answer and solution to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-xp/help/windows-media-player/11/album-info.  Thanks for your time.
