Error in New Zealand DST blackBerry Smartphones

We see a problem where the meeting created on the Blackberry is 1 hour out in the Outlook calendar.  This seems to be due to a defective DST 2007 patch, but if so, others should see the problem.  If you have seen this behavior and you have a solution, please help.

A little history: in 2007, the New Zealand changed the dates of beginning and end of summer time.  This year, daylight saving time ends on 5 April.  Prior to 2007, DST would have finished the third Sunday of March (yesterday).

Yesterday, March 15, 2009, from the Blackberry calendar entries worked well.

Today, March 16, 2009 (and after pre-2007 DST end date), when people enter calendar of events of the Blackberry device, they events show an hour later in the Outlook calendar.  The clock on the handhelds shows the exact time, with the time zone GMT + 12.

Example of problem:

BlackBerry to create new appointments on the calendar at 10:00.  Reconcile.  Calendar Outlook takes appointments and shows like 11:00.  BlackBerry continues to reflect 10:00.  Move appointments in Outlook at 09:00.  BlackBerry updates the appointment from 09:00.  Move the appointment of Blackberry at 10:00.  Outlook updates and reflects the 11:00.

A bit of our environment:

We run Outlook 2007, Exchange 2003, BES 4.1.6.10 and have a variety of Blackberry devices in use (always check if all are affected by the problem).  All handheld computers have the DST 2007 patch installed and checked (versions prior to 4.2.1.x).  All desktop computers, servers, etc. are NTP synchronized and are put in + 12GMT (Auckland), with checked auto-DST. BlackBerry devices are all together with "Blackberry" as a source of time and value + 12GMT (Auckland).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem here in New York. I have SP1 of Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003 and 2007. As you say, entry created calendar from Blackberry (version with the DST patch 4.1 or 4.2) shows an hour later in Outlook. Entry created in Outlook appears correctly on the Blackberry.

I spoke with RIM and in my case, she suggested using Exchange 2003 service pack 2 because the version of cdo.dll on my BES is behind compared to my Exchange. I asked if I could just copy the cdo.dll for exchange on BES and she said it could work. So I plan just to back up my server first, then try the trick of copy/paste/undo/save cdo.dll and hope for the best.

If this does not work, I can finish the installation of the service pack 2 but I prefer not as long as it is more invasive.

    Hello

From a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:

Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • New curve of blackBerry Smartphones

OK, my wife just got a new little used 8300. We have put the sim card and everything worked fine. with the exception of the email. We did call today and tell att we wanted as a BB data plan. When I go to the Setup Wizard, he asks me if I want to put up with BES or skip the step... I came here and tried to put in place and he said that I need to sign up for the phone. I followed the steps. Do you know how long it takes for registration? or if theres something else I should do? Thanks in advance

Before using the BlackBerry service, call your carrier and you subscribe to BlackBerry data plan. Once you have it you must use the icon Settings Email integration email ID. (Installation Wizard) your help to set your mail icon helps you integrated with corporate e-mail system.

  • Failure of a new software for blackBerry Smartphones

    (1) have years of back of the files with the files from the address book

New desktop software 2) said all the books addresses in each backup and some other files are read-only and will not download.

    (3) have used an earlier version the software to restore phones and from these files before address books.

    (4) central AM personal support says all files in each back upward and are grey must be corrupt, even you some have been used before.

    (5) they have never dimmed with the old software.  Only with the new software and only parts of the file.

    6) available (s) to send supports files to watch.  They were not interested.

Obviously not possible that only parts of each file in the years of backup was corrupt.  they were not recently accessed.

Unfortunately, the support staff convinced me to uninstall the old version before installing the new version have so not.

Does anyone have a solution?  Obviously, support of the RIM is not or will not.  Some say that they do have an older version of the software to send.

Someone at - he of the older versions of Office software?

    Someone at - it suggestions?

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

This is a resource for older versions of office software:

Understand that official support (to whom this site is NOT a part of) is actually not allowed to provide access to older versions. Actually, I disagree with this restriction on them, but my disagreement with this policy does nothing to change it. So, unfortunately, they simply did as they are asked to do in the rules they must follow. Fortunately, here on this site, we are not quite so limited!

If you need a process truly "own startover", here's one:

You can also study the PC-based applications that can extract data from these backup files (there are several other free who, I am told, work very well). What you declare is quite strange, and if it was me I would be worried about suspicions of corruption... it never hurts to have multiple sources of the same backup (for example, the BBB/IPD file and the contents extracted).

    Good luck!

  • My new Curve 9360 blackBerry smartphones won't let me open my profile option?

Hi, I'm new to these two forums and blackberry in general so I cry for a little help from someone who is a little more advanced than me!

I recently bought a Blackberry Curve 9360 and have since put it up to my tastes - well.

But recently, I've changed the sound profile to silent, I was in a meeting and now the blackberry won't let me open the profiles option at all (by that I mean real option in the main menu which allows you to select which sound profile to use [the option 'Sound and alert profiles']) and nor it will allow me to open it by clicking on the small speaker located on the search bar.

A friend showed me how to use "keep it Q" to change it, but every time I do this, it changes from Silent on vibrate only and nothing else...

So I was wondering if someone could help me out and explain how this menu option to get back so I can put the unit on the "Normal" profile (or there may be another shortcut to do?) or maybe an explanation as to why he stopped me to enter all of a sudden - the blackberry is less than a week!

    Kind regards

    Tom.

  • New to the blackBerry Smartphones Blackberry and LOVE my Storm! Now, how can I get the best party?

OK, I am new to Blackberry and devices in general.   I had a Palm, but never really used.   Now, I have a Blackberry, I really want to learn how to get the most out of it.

I want to get more organized with my calendar and schedule.   I want to keep a list of things to do.  I want that all my contacts easily manageable.

In my Palm, she had a beautiful desktop app where I could add Notes, or memos or items to my calendar and then synchronize when it would move anywhere in my Palm.

The B; ackberry Desktop application does not seem to have that same out of the box user friendilyness.    So my question, what program to use, how total, all this together to get the most out of my Blackberry?

    Outlook?   Google Calendar?  Another program?

    Thanks for any suggestions!

    Jamie

The most transparent way is synchronization with Outlook, via the Desktop Manager.

Step 1 install Blackberry Desktop Manager Manager of
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/

    Step 2
Connect blackberry to your PC via a USB cable and let the blackberry device driver install. During the device driver installation is complete, it will warn 'material installed successfully' in your windows taskbar.

    Step 3
Run the Blackberry Desktop software and choose the option SYNCHRONIZE.

    Step 4
Now choose CONFIGURE and you can select the CONTACTS, CALENDAR, NOTES, and databases TASKS by clicking on the boxes next to each. After you select each item, it will ask you which application you want to synchronize with, there are OPPORTUNITIES for all.

    Step 5
Now click OK on all windows until you are on the main blackberry Desktop Manager screen. Click SYNCHRONIZE. Make sure that the SYNCHRONIZE ORGANIZER DATA checkbox is checked. Now, click SYNCHRONIZE NOW to start the synchronization.

  • New schedule of blackBerry Smartphones PB 2.0

I have lilke the new calendar look and feel. It is also easier to handle.

However... All entries in my cal are still in my 'old' cal (upgraded) and they do not appear in the new cal.

Is it possible to transfer my 'old' cal entries to the new?

If this isn't the case, then this is a gaping hole!

I assume by "old calendar" you mean your BlackBerry calendar via the bridge? At the moment there is no way directly import from phone to the tablet. You must synchronize with something like Google Calendar, which will then sync the entries down to your tablet. You can download a google to m.google.com/sync sync and install on your phone. It syncs your calendar on your gmail account, and then you can add this account to your tablet.

  • Error in Documents To Go blackBerry Smartphones

I have DocsToGo (1,005) premium loaded on my VZW (OS 4.5.0.77) curve. SheetToGo and SlideshowToGo work very well. Whenever I try to open or create a file in WordToGo, I get the following error messages:

The WordToGo application attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your COMPUTING strategy.

Denied permission to your files. Please configure the permissions of your application in an appropriate manner.

I don't have a COMPUTER policy on my handheld (run BIS only). DataViz is no help, because they tell me to contact RIM. I have checked all kinds of BB forums, but have yet to find an answer to this particular problem. Can someone please? Thank you.

My problem is solved! In fact, I got the answer from another forum (God bless the BlackBerry community).

I already had all the permissions for connections, Interactions and user data to "allow". The only thing left to do was to reset the firewall will prompt you for the Word To Go module only. For anyone else having these issues, the following describes these steps:

Options of > Security Options > application permissions > Documents To Go > Menu key > change permissions > highlight "Word To Go" module > Menu key > change permissions > reset Firewall prompt

Thanks for all the help, Xandrex. I appreciate it.

  • New number of blackBerry Smartphones

Hi, I have a Bold 9700 on Vodafone UK, under contract with a full blackberry data plan. I need to get a new number (which will involve a new contract, I guess) to use with the same advice! Is it difficult and that I should do for my device works?

There is a lot of grief... you will get the new number/contract and have the BIS data plan added to the account. Once break you into the new SIM card in the device, you should be good to go - as long as the BIS plan has been activated on the plan and placed in service in the SIM card.

The SIM swap 'should' deactivate the PIN code on the old number/account and the transfer to the new account.

If you're NOT, a telephone call to Voda to check that your 9700 device has been removed and not in use on the old account - and has been added to the new account, is all that is needed.
