"Error message: Verifing DMI pool Data data ', 'Boot from CD' and Vista will not start.

Vista will not start. Yesterday I had a remote assist of a tech trade SPS who took several Java updates and installed the recommended Java version. Until I left work the day I closed my computer so that he could install the updates from Microsoft. After the updates were finished I he turned and left for the day. When I arrived this morning, I had was a black screen and 2 lines of text following: 'Verifing DMI pool data' and 'Boot from CD' and a cursor flashing beneath them. I downloaded and executed a Western Digital utility that showed no problems with the hard drive, put in on the installation disc repair service is no error. I did a system restore to a point since yesterday morning, and Vista still does not start. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi JohnHorky,

Step 1:

First check and make sure that all physical connections on the computer are correct.

Step 2:

Alternatively, you can try to run a Checkdisk and check.

a. Insert the installation disc.

b. restart your computer.

c. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt

f. at a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER

Chkdsk /f /r X: (drive letter)

Note: When you run the checkdisk, there are risks of data loss you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

g. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

h. close all applications and restart the computer.

Note: When you run the disk check, there are chances of losing data if you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

Step 3:

Check if the automatic hard drive in the BIOS (Basic Input/output System) is enabled and save settings and check if it works. If it doesn't, contact the manufacturer of the system for more support options.

I also suggest that you install the latest update of the basic system of input/output (BIOS) on the computer by contacting the manufacturer of the computer and check if it helps.

Important: Change to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Hope this information is useful.

  • Boot Camp keyboard and trackpad will not work. They do in Fusion

    Hello

I have a problem with my VM ware / boot camp of activation. I have a Boot Camp partition on my Macbook Pro. I am able to boot the disc using the fusion, but when I try to use Boot Camp coming to the windows activation screen and my keyboard and mouse do not work so I can't press the button to continue. I tried to boot into safe mode on boot camp and the keyboard and mouse are not recognized either. I tried to plug in a keyboard and a USB mouse generic and is not no longer works. I am running XP pro (not OEM version).

Does anyone have any suggestions on a cure?

    Hi tsugua,

This sounds like it may be more than one Apple, or Microsoft problem. However, my recommendation would be to ensure that the leopard drivers have been properly installed. To install the insert drivers your Leopard installation disc and run the setup.exe if is not autorun. So, make sure you run software updates of the Mac OS to ensure you have the latest version of the Bootcamp drivers.

Let me know if this helps.

I tried to put the recovery disk in, but it does nothing I also tried windows made it sit and tried the disk that is supposed to find the r but nothing will work. all of the suggestions.

Recovery mode f11 does not work as well

even in f8 f10 if I push the options it just stops and returns to the menu of this same

I think that it is high time they gave you another to replace this one!

You had such a race of bad luck, it would be more advantageous for them replace then keep "fixing" for you.

Good luck with them and thank you for the reply.

  • Computer will not start normally - boots to the BIOS boot screen

Hi, today I had problems on my computer and it will not start normally upward. This started happening today. When I turn on the monitor, the HP logo appears on a blue screen (as usual), but then, there are a lot of vertical white lines grouped perfectly on the screen (it's never happened before) he started to arrive yesterday. and when I try to start it, there is just a black screen for a long time and sometimes the system recov appears but it takes SO long to finish so I just stopped and went into safe mode and did a quick scans with Malwarebytes, MS Security Essentials and SUPERAntiSpyware, but they are all come clean except SUPER which came with a few things from tracking cookies...

Today, I have scanned a full scan with malwarebytes and it says that there is no infection.

can someone help me? I'm at the library atm! Thank you!

Picture of the blue screen with lines here: http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/8583/post1278441253416372.jpg

also - im wondering how to start with recov disks? I have two drives but only as on slot dvd thing and I know to start upward with her? should I boot with it because the layout is a little down? and I don't have an installation disc windows vista then Yes.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello Winston,

According to the image that you posted, it seems that the blue screen is a blue screen with the HP logo on the subject.

If this is the case, then the machine has not yet reached Windows and is suspended in the machine Power On Self Test.

My recommendation for this scenario is to contact HP about what there is something at the level of the material / process/firmware BIOS which prevents the machine to get it to start Windows Vista.

Let us know what they have to say.

    Best regards

  • Computer stuck on Verifying DMI Pool Data data

try to start on an old IDE HDD and blocked on the verification of dmi pool data each time.  BIOS recognizes both the hard drive and the optical drive.  can boot from CD and I tried chkdsk running, including fixmbr and fixboot, which did not help.  also changed a lot of settings in the bios, trying to find one that works as a "Fail-Safe by default" and "optimal by default".  not sure where to go from here or try some of them again, maybe I've done something in the right order?

Thanks in advance for the help
Edit: as a side note, one of my anti-virus just detected a virus before the computer as forced a reboot out of my control.  It would not start again under windows because of this error

    Hi ChristopherJohnston,

First check and make sure that all physical connections on the computer are correct.

I suggest that you install the latest update of the basic system of input/output (BIOS) on the computer by contacting the manufacturer of the computer and check if it helps.

Important: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. • Install Windows 7 stuck on screen 'Verifying DMI pool data'

    Hello

so I installed windows 7 on my aspire m1110 (Cpu: AMD Athlon 64 x 2 4800 + Ram: 3 GB video card: ATI Radeon HD 3450 1526 MB) and the final rebot, the computer is stuck in the screen "Verifying DMI pool data". Then after an hour or two, I forced the computer to shutdown (clicked the power button) and after it the pc just does not start. NOTHING. I click the power button and does not appear any image. I can't boot from the cd or dvd... I can't do anything. Could someone help? I'm tired of Windows vista because it's so slow and I really want to Windows 7. Meanwhile, I solved and back to windows vista, but I don't want that. My computer is not compatible with windows 7?

OK, first you install windows 7, it goes through all the steps and installs and then when is it recharges and gets stuck on VERIFIANT DMI, shut down the computer and boot from the cd again once, when it loads and goes to the screen when you press INSTALL WINDOWS on this screen, it is also a windows repair option press that and don't select auto repair. go to the command prompt
