Error message: \windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe__

Windows does not start. Have tried to start in safe mode and last known good boot but still nothing. Keep getting sent back to... the same error windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file.  GRRRRRR and there was no disc not sent with it so how to recover or fix anything?  Help, please! (for Windows vista)

Hello

Generally, manufacturers provide a recovery volume, no discs, for when he has problems like this. You should check your owner's manual or online to get specific instructions on how to access their support because the process varies greatly.

The error occurs with a basic system file, so, even with a system recovery disk is not easy. If your recovery options allow you to access the repair console, you can try to run check the filesystem (sfc/scannow) to the command line to repair the file.

    o The System Restore tool

If the problem you are experiencing started occurring recently, you can use the System Restore tool. Using this tool, you can restore the computer to an earlier point in time. The tool using System Restore may not necessarily help you determine the problem. When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose another restore point and then click Next.

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    4. click on finish.

The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

    Hello

    1. when exactly you get this error message?

2 are you able to boot into the office after getting this error on blue screen?

    3. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try to start your system in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Method 2 : If the question does not exist in Mode safe mode then try to put your computer in a clean boot state.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Method 3: If the problem persists, then try to run the Startup Repair tool.

Startup Repair is a Windows Vista recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged that may prevent Windows from starting correctly. When you run the Startup Repair, it scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so that your computer can start correctly.
