    Hello

I posted a similar message last month, but it is a new issue.

I start with a completely fresh SATA hard drive, purchased yesterday and the recovery that were sent to me by HP disks.  I think that I have can I have inadvertently damaged the last new hard drive he began to throw up a lot of mistakes 'disk fail.

I was expecting, it's a straight forward case this time, but I was struck with the following message appears during the recovery process: "Windows could not restore your computer by using the factory imagebe"

I followed the advice of this guy: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/Recovery-Manager-could-not-resto... and got an iso disc of Windows 8 (maybe 8.1).

I started with the iso disk and followed the instructions on the screen until I was asked to choose the installation location. I chose the one and the only displayed 1 TB drive, but after nearly 30 minutes, the installer said "Windows is unable to install to the selected location. "Error: 0 x 80300001.

I thought that this new disc may need partitioning and/or formatting, but I tried it via the command prompt only to be presented with another error - IO error. My hands are essentially firmly tied behind my back now.  I feel like I'm just opening a long line of Pandora's boxes at every turn!

This time, I was convinced that, with a new batch of discs of HP Receovery official, it would be simple veil--what a mistake!

    Please can someone save me?

    Hello

My thoughts are to delete all partitions, select new. Windows will create all the required partitions.

  • Error 1 full (305) hard drive with dv6-6119tx - is it worth to replace the HARD drive?

    Hello!

I bought the mobile entertainment HP Pavilion dv6-6119tx (QB365PA) in July 2011. The specifications are - processor: Intel Core i5 - 2410M, integrated RAM DDR 3 4 GB, HDD: 640 GB (Toshiba) operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium x 64

Since I bought this machine it has been giving me problems in time. First webcam died within the first 2 months, then the DVD recorder failed then it was the keyboard and finger print sensor. There were several problems with the installation of microsoft update. Six months ago, I replaced the 6-cell battery. I bought a costly maintenance contract for the second year, given the number of aging I met within the first year of use. Apart from the battery which was of course not covered under the contract, I had no other problems in the 2nd year. And just as this contract expired in August of this year I started facing problems, I got BSOD on two or three occasions. After each incident system booted normally and everything was fine except the Device Manager indicates problems with infrared devices consumers. The problem seems to have exploded on its own. Then since the past two months, my computer started freezing during startup and for initial 5-10 minutes. After startup. In this duration, I checked several times HARD drive health using the utility BIOS InsydeH2O repeatedly. The time required for the diagnosis seems to be gradually increasing with each analysis later but he still passed diagnostics. But today, when he sent 'Hard disk 1 (305) full' message and yet I am able to boot but with freezy start-up. Today, the system froze in the middle of something twice and I had to stop hard. When I ran Avast! It froze at 99% on detailed analysis. He struck the syswow64 folder file and showed an infected file.  I have run windows error checking-HD and it showed no errors.

    My questions are-

    1. what seems to be the problem? What is a HDD failure or infection?

    2. is it useful to replace the HARD disk if the problems are the result of HARD drive problems?

    3. I argued my sytem on external HARD drive, I can install Windows 7 on new HD, if get a?

4 system backup of files is only 274 MB in size, is this good?

    5. If I purchase the new hard drive has the same specifications and manufacturer as the current one or can I update? If I can update what are recommended replacements?

    Hi KlebersonofGun:

Thanks yo for your answer.  I send you a link to the Guide "Maintenance and Service" for your computer, click here. Page 62 has a section on the replacement hard drive

You can use any brand of hard drive, as long as it fits the plug.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP PAVILION HARD DRIVE FAILURE

I had a failure of hard drive about nothing. Could not restart (HP Pavilion 15 230 her) wouldn't boot and clicked. The ID is U0C40K-76U7AE-MFPV61-60UQ03 (some of the zeros may be 'o', hard to say). Can I fix it myself? Lap top is 3 months old.

    Hello

Error code 24 characters will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the startup problem you describe.

As always, your laptop will be under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - if necessary, you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United Kingdom, contact HP here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

    Hello:

It seems that the hard drive has failed, must be replaced and reinstalled OS.

If you use recovery discs to reinstall the operating system and the software that came with your laptop, you can buy a hard drive of the same size or more large storage capacity, such as the one you currently have.

  • How can I fix error code 2000-0145, hard drive dst

When I quit Windows, I get the "End program" dreaded error. I usually get several times until the machine stops in fact. Windows XP

Sounds like your hard drive is a failure.  Check with the manufacturer of your PC error code and see if they have the diagnostic software that can run on your computer to diagnose the problem.  This isn't a Windows error, it is a hardware error on your computer.

  • Windows Setup could not configure Windows on hardware of this computer Installation error on the new hard drive

Okay so if please bear with me and be patient.  I'm not tech savvy.  I know enough to be able to remove an old hard drive and put another one, but when there are errors, I don't know what to do.

    Here's the situation.

I have a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7 installed.  I started having these notifications that my hard drive could be a failure.  I tried everything that I could find to fix it without having to buy a new HARD drive without success.  The current system has a 1 TB Seagate hard drive.  I installed a memory additional bar thingie right after that I got the computer about 4 years ago.  (If someone tells me how to find the properties of real system, I post them if necessary).  Anyway, I bought a new WD 1 TB black disk hard to install before my old dies and loses all my photos and documents, etc...

I took the old drive yesterday and installed the new hard drive.  I put back the case and turned on the machine.  I put in my Windows 7 installation disc.  He began installing Windows 7... It's completely past the initial screen where it says it to load it and the other... I had accepted the license agreement, but did not have to make a profile and do the work and the reader.  I hope all this makes sense.  Then it pops up this message "installing Windows could not set up Windows on hardware on this computer."  I couldn't figure out what to do from there.  I got the new drive and put the old one back to and here I am. I tried to find solutions to this problem, but I either don't can't make heads or tails out of the responses on the internet or the solution is not exactly my problem.

Please help if you can!  And if you have any suggestions, please dumb them down so I can understand what to do.  I CAN do if loaded, you just have to not talk too irritable.  Laughing out loud

    Thank you in advance!

    Maybe not...

The Windows installation is not happy about something, and since it gets at least started which is a good thing, but your installation problem can not really be with Windows - perhaps something about Dell hardware or your 1 TB HARD drive.

I looked at your system and found this article that you can read to see if it sounds like your original question:

Windows Setup could not configure Windows on hardware on this computer.

    http://www.Dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN293812/en

Since Dell has written an article for help on this subject, it means they've met enough times to take the time to compose the article and put it on their WWW site (but, they say, it is a possible resolution).

Could you take the issue in the Dell online community where experts hang out (especially your amber light).

Another good place for support is www.bleepingcomputer.com where there is a similar topic as your question (except Vista) on a Dell and a new disk of 1 TB (also a Seagate) and Dell ideas did not work, but someone else has found a way to fix it:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/453378/installation-fails-to-complete-on-new-HDD/

The bleepingcomputer for your error message search reveals other areas and people who have got things to work in different ways, then it is perhaps another place to look for ideas.

If the installation still fails it would not hurt to do the BIOS setting and see if things are getting longer, and since you are going to write the current settings before proceeding with the adjustment you can always cancel the adjustment if things get worse.

  • Error starting HP pavilion m7560y drive

    Hello

I get the disk initialization error. There are two 160 GB samsung drives in the box. But, in the BIOS, I am able to see only one. I tried different things as take that which is not seen, replace the cables etc etc. Nothing seems to work.

My question is: should I replace the hard drives of 160 GB or just one? If the BIOS sees the drive, means that it's ok?

    Thanks for all the solutions!

Josh, here is a link to the pages "Product card" for your computer:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_rule=16113&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=3184193&lang=en

The start of the disc error may be caused by a bad hard drive.  However, there are other causes.  You may be able to get a program of diagnosis of the manufacturer's Web site to test it.  I know that I have used a program provided by Western Digital in the past.

What is my point of view on the question of a 320 GB drive or the two 160 GB drives.  Personally, I like to have separate hard drives.  At this point, I had 2 Hitachi 80 GB, Deskstars for 3-1/2 years.  Normally, I have two partitions on the first drive C:\ and D:.  On C:\ I have the OS and other programs and applications that support the operating system, for example, anti-virus, pilot programs, etc.  Then I install any other programs, games, OpenOffice, Spybot S & D, photos, etc. on D:.  Oh, Yes, I also the pagefile on D:.  This works very well for me.

On the second hard drive, I installed Ubuntu 9.04, Linux and dual boot.  I use XP Pro, when I have the game, but use Ubuntu as my main OS.  I don't have to worry about viruses.

  • Re: Error message board Messagedu - HARD drive

    Hello

I have a M500 0iC (I think!). In any case, I had some problems with it. Twice he is unwilling to run windows (Windows 7 Home premium) and only after that I booted in safe mode and reset the computer back to an earlier date has worked again. This is NOT good. Only, I bought this computer in February.

However, my main concern is I turned it on this morning and I got a message on the Bulletin Board of Toshiba. I opened it and he gave me a warning that he predicted that my HARD drive was going to fail, and I need to communicate with repairers and organize a new and to back up all my files. I closed the message and I can't get it back, so I can't copy and paste here. I currently backed everything up and it is a MAJOR issue for me - I am currently working on my thesis of honor so if that computer fails, only four bloody months, I'll be VERY unhappy.

If someone can tell me to this subject and what I have to do, I would be very grateful!

    Thank you!

    > I closed the message and I can't get it back, so I can't copy and paste here.

To be honest, I do not use utilities toshiba as Board and newsletter and do not know much about them. But you can access a hard drive with Windows live Cd or in a safe mode to back up files.

    > is currently working on my thesis of honor so if that computer fails, only four bloody months, I'll be VERY unhappy.

Your laptop is still new and they will fix it for free.

  • Blue Screen of Death error - trying to replace hard drive but cannot boot from CD

    Hello

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 running Windows XP which is about 4 years old now (everything is oem with the exception of the upgraded RAM from 256 MB to two 512 MB, mark PNY installed about 6 months ago). Recently my computer started to go to a blue screen saying "a problem has been detected and windows should now order to avoid damaging your computer equal not less or equal...". Technical information: STOP: x00000000A (0x00000002, 0x00000000 0x00000020, 0x804F9F45) the beginning of physical memory dump... ' etc. (the blue screen is shifted to the left, it is difficult to read everything). The BOS came intermittently, and after a reboot, it was fine, but it started to get worse and now returns immediately when Windows starts. When the windows would be fine I couldn't use a lot of programs (virus scan or anything that required for access to the files, I could also not download anything), because it says that the files were corrupt.

I thought that my hard drive has failed or got a virus. I was not too concerned by the loss of what was on the hard drive. So I thought that I could by a new hard drive and start-up costs. I bought a western digital caviar is 250 GB. I installed and tried to boot from the CD that came with the new HD and reinstalled operating system CD dell (I entered the Setup menu to change the boot sequence for the CD first). It cannot start. It says press F1 to retry or F2 to go together to the top. Maybe I have other problems with the CD-rom, motherboard, or? However, everything worked well before the BOS began to appear. I've tried everything I can think of (which is not much, because I know little about this sort of thing). I'm getting very frustrated with it and appreciate any help that could be offered. I tried to include information relavent, but please let me know if you need more information. Thank you very much.

    Hello

I have a T410s with the last BIOS 1.50 and an Intel X - 18 M 160 GB (RUF 45N8019). If I try to start, I get the error of hard disk initialization. I used the Flash Intel tool and it says that the reader intel has the latest firmware. I also changed the BIOS in compatibility mode.

What can I do to get this working? As I saw on Thinkwiki (http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:T410s) laptop has been delivered with this SDS, so it should work, no?)

Can you start a Linux Live USB and to access the drive from there? It is possible that the drive has failed.

    Hey @ChuckBattams,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that you have questions about upgrading the size of SSD in your laptop Pavilion x 2.

The phone supports up to 128 GB SATA SSD m2. Note that a SATA m2 is slimmer that a portable player standard as it should adapt to the passage of the computer Tablet laptop beware therefore looking for an upgrade. The laptop should theoretically work with a larger SSD, but I can only confirm that he will work with up to 128 GB as shown in the guide of your device.

You can see detailed instructions on the replacement of the SSD on page 44 here: PC HP Pavilion 11 x 2 - Maintenance and Service of Guide.

Note the part number 742736-001 listed for the 128 m 2 GB SATA drive.

    I hope this helps.
