Error user - logged on with a temporary profile profile... BUT when I reboot it charges ok. Every so often continues to be tho. If it was corrupted wouldn't it load correctly every time?
I have seen that it is a known issue for Vista. Even considered upgrading to Windows 7.
Try to remove google desktop and google update to see if that helps.

I use a Toshiba Satellite with windows vista. My father gave it to me, but instead of creating a new user account, I have renamed the original administrator account. two years later, I have 3 accounts on the laptop, which only the original is still the sole Director and has access to all partitions on the hard drive as well.
A week ago, my computer laptop power had reported issues so I immediately sent for repair. I came home today and the Standard 2 user accounts work perfectly. However when I connect to my original administrator account I get this pop - up message:
"The user profile was not loaded correctly. You have been logged on with a temporary profile. Changes to this profile will be lost when you log out. Check the log of the events for more information or contact your administrator "
I lost all my profile settings, including internet bookmarks, music playlists, etc. The office looks like a brand new installation of Vista and all the customization disappeared. I can't afford to lose all data. It is seriously important and was on my desk and in my documents.
How can I get my profile without losing any data?
Hi Salman91,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Windows Vista Community. New profile created, try browsing to the old profile (C:\users\username). You should see all the old user data. If this does not work, try to copy the files in Safe Mode.
Please let us know if that helps.

"you have been connected with a temporary profile.
I can't find the words to express the degree of anger with microsoft! I use W7 for a few weeks and just started getting the message "you have been connected with a temporary profile" and lost everything that was on my desk (shortcuts application, saved files and settings). I scoured internet (including MS help/support/etc.) and found the HUNDREADS of comments on this problem but with NOT a SINGLE solution that works and WITHOUT EXPLANATION of why or how it happened. This simple question is W7 TOTALLY USELESS and I'm trying to figure out how to recover my money on buying. If I could get my hands on the neck of the W7 developers, I'd be more than happy to squeeze the @$ % # out of them and they could keep my money. It's PATHETIC and a technology CRIME! Is connected with the temporary profile
Windows keeps connect me with a temporary profile, only on my account not the other two, I want to just access my files, the links using microsoft in other issues do not work and if I create a new user who logs with a profile temporary, just also want to know how I can access my files so I can get out them of this user account
THESE LINKS I TRIED BEFORE DO NOT WORK:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/811151/en-us
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555473Thank you.
Hi Alisha,
You said that didn't happen on your account and not the other two. And you said you tried these links, I hope you don't delete all users according to the instructions...
in any case, you can easily have access to your files on the account that you have trouble accessing via two other accounts work. Navigate to C:\documents and settings\ this folder contains all the user profiles and all the documents and the data is stored in the profile folder name. Find the folder with the name of your account on it and inside you will find all the documents, Favorites, etc.
To get to C:\documents and settings\ open my computer, double-click the drive that you installed Windows, and Documents and Settings will be a folder you will see in the beginning of the hard disk.

Windows does not load correctly, starts with a temporary profile
Yesterday, I used my laptop and it worked fine I close it correctly went to the store, when I returned an hour later and turned on my computer Windows Vista home 64 bit would not at all be responsible. I used my cell phone to get online and tried a few things and now 24 hours later became Windows to load, however he began with a temporary profile and all my photos, documents and programs are gone except via the box has changed mrecently, they are there. I tried to restore a system but all my restore points have been deleted even the ones I did today. I tried using recovery discs and it won't work. I would like to pick up my items, I contacted Microsoft support and they will help me unless I pay $99. I don't have a lot of money for advice on everything I can do to help. I can't get connected to my regular profile that tells Windows to check the event log, which I did and of course, do not understand what he says. Please help to solve this problem, I'm afraid to shut down my computer as it is not sure that I will be able to return.
