My first attempt I plugged the scanner after starting the software. I'm testinging the application for free before you buy the full application that might work better. So far, the free app is a little unstable and backward jumps between the default and manual adjustments. The scanner is very slow, an initial overview took 7 min but the scanner works.

  Thanks for the quick response.  Tried both suggestions, but they don't work.  I decided to open the directory for the software and found the directX folder.  I opened it and was able to download the fix DX9 which appeared and the software works now.  Apparently, the software is not compatible with Windows 7 Pro with DX11.  Thanks again.
