ESXi 4.1.0 don't Build 582267 auf IBM xSeries 460 no 64-bit vm´s

Hello

I have an IBM xSeries 460, 3 GHZ XEON, MT - M: 8872-2RG.

With the last Bios Version: 1.12 2008 http://www-947.IBM.com/support/entry/portal/docDisplay?lndocid=MIGR-5070865

ESXi 4.1.0 than 582267 Build runs on this server.

But if I want to start a 64 bit Virtual Machine

I get the Info link:

The I downloaded it the audit tool from: http://downloads.VMware.com/d/details/processor_check_5_5_dt/dCpiQGhkYmRAZQ==

Output from this tool: http://www.VMware.com/a/info/?id=152

./VMware-guest64check-5.5.0-18463 # / tmp
This host is NOT capable of running a 64-bit comments under the present operating system
VMware product.
For more information, see http://www.VMware.com/info?id=152

Is this system really a non 64 bit system?

Or how to set up the BIOS or ESXi to make it work?

Thank you

Dennis

    Hello

I try to install ESXi (first 4.0 and after 3.5) on my IBM xseries 336, but it reboot when installing.

    Just like here :

"The installation gets to the point after loading (?). install.tgz, then

pause for a while with the message:

    Start-up: MBI = 0 00010108 x, entrance = 0 x 00100212

    "and then reboots."

I'm trying to update the BIOS to the latest version, but it doesn't help.

Same problem with the version 3.5 and ESXi 4.0.

I saw some people installed esxi 4.0 on an xseries 336, so it is possible.

Anyone has an idea on how to solve this problem?

  • Update Server VC and 5.5 ESXi hosts to update 3 b (Build 3248547)

I'm in vCenter Server 5.5 and 5.5 ESXi hosts.  Both are updated 3A, patched to version 201510001, which is the build 3116895.  I plan the upgrade of update 3 b (Build 3248547) and I'm a little confused on the question of SSLv3.

I wonder if this point below ESXi55 U3b & VC 55U3b Known Issues applies to my config:

ESXi does not automatically added to the inventory of the vCenter servers
If you install an earlier version of vCenter Server and vSphere Update Manager for ESXi 5.5 updated 3B, then after the task of sanitation, ESXi does not automatically added to the VC inventory. Remediation process never gets done and ESXi State of connection in the VC inventory is presented as disconnected. Solution: When you restart ESXi after reorganization process is started, enable SSLv3 on ESXi (which is disabled by default). This will ensure that ESXi is added to the VC inventory automatically in minutes and sanitation as completed.

If I'm reading things correctly, upgrade to vCenter Server to 3 b first and then upgrade the ESXi hosts, will avoid lost communication problems.  Can anyone confirm?

It should be good if you update vCenter first.

The problem is that pre - U3b vCenter 5.5 forces an SSLv3 connection when connecting to an ESXi host on port 443 (not the reverse). It does this, even if the host ESXi and vCenter SSL/TLS libraries actually support TLS 1.0 + since at least vSphere 4.0.

So when you update one host to 5.5 U3b, the oldest vCenter again will try to force a connection SSLv3 that will fail, since SSLv3 has been disabled to the host. If you're updating vCenter, first of all, it will initiate a good TLS 1.0 + connection to more similar and updated hosts.

Here is an explanation of the (pre - U3b) vCenter SSLv3 handshake behavior:

  • ESXi 5.0 servers don't recognize that same NFS share to the same data store

I have a setup of vSphere 5.0 running VMware Workstation 8.  I have two ESXi servers that are accumulating the same NFS share (with the same IP address and the same directory path), but for some reason, they don't recognize it as the same data store.  I deleted and added to the data store again and checked that I am getting the same way on both nodes.  However, vSphere don't let me use the same name when I ride sharing NFS as a data store on the second node. vSphere changes the name of "NFSdatastore" to "NFSdatastore (1)" and will not let me change, say that the name already exists.

The NFS file server is a VM of 2.99 OpenFiler, which IP 192.168.0.100 (and is in DNS as "openfiler1").  The path is "/ mnt/vsphere/vcs/datastore.

The NFS mount works great as a data store on the two servers ESXi, except for the fact that vSphere sees two data stores.  I have a Red Hat VM running on each of them, and when I browse the data of each ESXi Server store, I can definitely see two configs VM, as well as a few ISO images that I put on the NFS share.  However, I can't vMotion as he complains about not being able to access the configuration file and the file virtual disk (vmdk) of the other node.

On the OpenFiler, the directory/mnt/vsphere/vcs/datastore is the property of "ofguest" in the "ofguest" group, and the permissions are "drwxrwsrwx +".  All files under the directory are also held by "ofguest" in the group "ofguest".  Vmx files have permissions "rwxr-xr-x + ', and the vmdk files have permissions ' rw +-

I did a lot of Google search, read best practices, etc.  Any help is appreciated.

UPDATE: he Figured out - leakage / on one of the paths of NFS mounting.  DOH!

  • Device-Release don't build no good?

I had a BB app world since March, which passed through numerous published versions 10.0.0 to 1.4.2. I've never had a problem of construction for immediate release. I am currently in the middle of a complete rewrite, spending most of the logic in C++ QML/JavaScript. With this new version that I can build for Simulator-Debug and it works fine on the Simulator. Similarly, I can build for the device debugging and run it on my Z10 with a token of debugging. The problem is when I Isaiah to compile to release device. The log shows the build completed without errors, but when I try to deploy my Z10 to test the IDE says that the file does not exist. When I click on the Details button it shows the way to the so-called missing program file, but when I check the file exists.

I tried to clean and rebuild the project, as well as construction and by deploying with Momentics 10.1 and 10.2, but they will not just load the compiled on my Z10 version or they will create a BAR file. I spent almost a month completely rewrite my application and I would not lose my job because the IDE won't let me out. The Momentics 10.1 and 10.2 runs the new app in the Simulator and on the Z10 if I build in debug mode, but not in release mode.

    What gives?

EDIT: I realized after I posted that the file he is looking for is NOT here, under a slightly different name is instead. See my solution below for more details.

    Answered my own question.

Found a trick here and realized that I had missed the things when I started the new version. I wanted the new app to have the same name as the old one, but necessary to keep it in a new project directory. After that I created the new project, I edited the app.pro file and the files of handle bar to change the name of the application of the finite. It works fine until you wan't do a Release, time at which Momentics generates an executable with the wrong name.

  • Why don't build you firefox for android versions prior to version 2.2. My android phone has android 2.1 Flash version.

My phone has Android 2.1 version (Flash). Unfortunately there are no updates available for my device, even in the future. I consider you as a top developer if you can optimize your browser to support my mobile device. And I know you won't, because as a developer, it is very difficult to work on older versions of android, and which took time. Really, I have made a worse choice my mobile device.

This is for technical reasons. Firefox for Android requires a feature called OpenGL ES. Open GL ES is used to draw on the screen. Android 2.2 is the first version of Android to support OpenGL ES 2.0 for applications of NDK.

  • ?? Fixed subtitles don't build and burn?

I've corrected the spelling of some subtitles in a project still appearing correctly in the preview but when I create and burn the project on DVD stand as the old version. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Is there a transcoded file I need to delete somewhere? Thank you!!!

    Welcome to the forum.

I remember similar happening in the past, but my memory is fuzzy now. IIRC, one only had to go to a subtitle, change the font, and then change it back. It seems only to clear the air.

If this isn't the case, I would clean the media Cache, especially if the deadlines have been transcoded with old subtitles.

Good luck, and I'll see if I can find the old nets (could have been before the passage of the forum and then probably would be lost forever) and check my weak memory.

  • System Recovery Options - no operating system listed, need to load the drivers, but don't know where to find this (Windows Vista 64-bit)

It is a gateway M6866 laptop running Windows Vista 64-bit.

The computer does not start up--gives "BOOTMRG is missing" error at startup.  I'm trying to boot from the 64-bit of Windows Vista recovery disc.  I clicked on the "repair your computer" option, and it shows the computer loading files.  Then the "System Recovery Options" box appears and asks me to select the operating system to fix it.  The problem is that nothing has listed.  It is said that if your OS is not listed click Load Drivers.  I did, but it is said to insert the device installation media, and then click OK to select the driver.  I clicked on OK and then opens a browser window to select the file.

I don't know which file I'm supposed to select here.  I searched online for an answer, and someone told him to go to the computer manufacturer's website and download the driver for RAID controller.  I tried to go to the site of the bridge to find it, but it doesn't seem to be one for Vista 64-bit.

Please please help!  I have to at least be able to extract the files to the hard drive before reinstalling windows.

    Hello

    ·        Have you Configure RAID on the system?

If you have not configured then RAID on the system, I suggest you to disable the RAID/eSATA (SATA improved) in the BIOS. Once you turn off the RAID/eSATA on the system that your basic hard disk should be recognized by the system because it doesn't require any drivers, it will act as an IDE. Once you have disabled the RAID/eSATA then booting into the recovery environment and build the Bootrec and check if the problem is resolved. I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below to rebuild the bootrec.

Rebuild the BCD store by using the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. get the Vista installation DVD and pop in your drive.

    b. then restart your computer.

    c. press a key when you are prompted.

    d. Select a language, a time, a currency, and a keyboard or another input method, and then hitNext

    e. click on repair your computer

    f. click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next

    g. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt

    h. type bootrec /rebuildbcd and then press the Enter"" key.

    ·        If Bootrec runs successfully, it will present you with the installation of a Windows directory path. To add the entry in the BCD store, type Yes. A confirmation message appears that indicates the entry has been added successfully.

    ·        If Bootrec cannot findany lack of facilities of Windows, you must remove the BCD store, and then you must re-create it. To do this, type the following commands in the order shown below: (remember to press ENTER after each command)
    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup
    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old
    Bootrec /rebuildbcd

    i. restart the computer.

  • I don't have a paper copy of my Vista 64-bit operating system

Where I can download Windows Vista 64-bit operating system that came preinstalled on my computer? I have my (legal) product key. It is a gateway, and they say that they cannot provide me with it. Someone please help.

    Hello

You say Gateway said that they can not provide you with a Vista disk to reinstall.

Have you asked Gateway if you always had a recovery Partition to reinstall Vista operating system of?

Read this article in the link provided:

"Gateway System Recovery from the hard disk"

    http://support.gateway.com/s/software/MICROSOF/Vista/7515418/7515418asi.shtml

    And this, too:

    "Factory full development".
    http://support.gateway.com/s/software/Microsof/Vista/7515418/7515418su531.shtml

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you will have to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista (what you do), 32-bit and 64-bit Editions come on different DVDs

    See you soon.

  • I don't know which version I have 32 or 64 bit

How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or the 64 bit version of the Windows operating system

    And read the above.

    And in this way:

How will I know if my computer is running 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows?

To find out if your computer is running 32-bit Windows or 64-bit, follow these steps:

    1. System opened by clicking on the button start , clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clickingSystem.

    2. Under system, you can view the system type.

    Hi guys

check the SRM 5.0.1 software compatibility table (I have install this version because I work with SVC 6.3.0.x and the only compatible is 5.0.1 from any SRA for 5.1)

Well said table vCenter 5.0 U1 is compatible with SRM 5.0.1.

Well my client has ESXi 5.0 U1 Patch 5 build 702118

so do you think it will be any problem with this ESXi 5.0. 5 way U1 version?

or it does not matter the patch that is install just the major version?

same question goes for said Table vCenter vCenter 5.0 Update 1 (build 623373) is compatible. Can I upgrade to 5.0 U1b (623373)?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

1 patch does not matter, only the main version / update.

2 vCenter 5.0.1b has the same compatibility as vCenter 5.0.1.

  • Level microcode CPU nested ESXi 6.0 error

Hello the VMware community!  I've built a budget at home and execution 5.5 vSphere lab / vCenter node cluster 2.  I try to put in place an environment vSphere nested 6.0 for testing purposes and met with an immediate obstacle.

My first step was to create a new virtual machine to a host 6.0.  I activated the option of cpu expose hardware assisted 'display' in the guest operating system and began to install the vSphere ESXi 6.0 on the virtual computer operating system.  Almost immediately, I was faced with the following error information:

VMware ESXi 6.0.0 (VMKernel Release Build 2494585)

The system has found a problem on your machine and cannot continue.

    Not supported microcode level 0x00000000

Please use the microcode patch level 0 x 01000065 or higher with processors AMD family 10 h B3.

I did some google-foo and it seems that what which either update the installation of operating system try to use cannot be done from a guest operating system...  So it would seem the OS must be installed directly on the host computer before guests 6.0 work.  Another summer in this way, anyone?  Am I close?
