• When I use the Client for NFS provided by Windows 7, I'm unable to connect. The "mount \\ip address\share Z:" command fails with the error code "the path not found network".

  I am trying to connect to the Windows 7 Client NFS on a server running on a computer (VxWorks) NFS.  I am able to properly connect Client NFS software by a 3rd party on the NFS server.  However, when I use the Client for NFS provided by Windows 7, I am unable to connect.  The \\ip address\share Z: mount"command fails with the error code"the path not found network ".  I can't do a ping of the computer running the NFS server.

• File not found after moving from vm again ESXi

  Tried to move a virtual machine to an ESXi 3.5 to another server.  The virtual machine is a Windows 2003R2 domain controller configured with 3 GB of Ram and a hard drive (36 GB in size).

  After downloading and downloading what I believed to be the (scdc01.vmdk 36 GB) virtual disk and the virtual computer file that server would not start filed a complaint against "file not found".

  Found that there is another virtual disk file (scdc01 - 0000001.vmdk about 2 GB insizing).  Other investication showed that the virtual machine is configured to use the scdc01 - 000001.vmdk and not the scdc01.vmdk.

  Because I didn't build the virtual machine, I'm at a loss as to what the "scdc01.vmdk 36 GB drive is for."  I know that its possible to configure a server for its hard drives will grow according to the needs.  How do you verify if this is the case.  Is there a way to check if a virtual disk file is used by a virtual machine?  If it's Setup to grow is there nothing wrong with the execution of a domain controller installation Windows in this way.

  000001 file is an instant vmdk.  It relies on an another vmdk.  It should be named something like scdc01 - flat hard and also several GB in size.

  Make sure you copy this file in place and it should work.

  The virtual machine is based on the snapshot based on a parent vmdk.   scdc01.VMDK is a file descriptor, which also relies on the vmdk base or instant capture.  When stereotypes are present, it is based on the snapshot.  Otherwise on the parent - flat hard

• Storage vmotion esxi 5.5 to 6.0 does not not for some vm

  In a test cluster with 2 nodes with no storage storage shared (local only), host vmotion 5.5 to 6.0 host does not work.

  before the upgrade, I moved all the vm to a host.

  Then I upgraded to 6.0 host and tried to move all the VMS to the host 6.0 updated (moving host + storage).

  Given that some machines were functioning and vmotion later in both directions from 6.0 to 5.5 works, I think that is no configuration error.

• Device not found in airport 6.3.6 utility

  Running a 5th generation I'm stuck. I checked a bunch of other posts and restarted all devices, as well as reset the base station. I also adjusted IPv6 at the local level.

What is weird is I can get temporarily in Airport utility if restart my MacBook and the base station at the same time. However, it does not last long.   -Remove TimeMachine.plist and restart my mac

  -Hard reset of my time capsule. Went through all configurations with success but then still backup missed (I hear the running time capsule when it is by train).

  I share this time capsule with my wife and she has no problem with that.

  I can only think of a possible alternation I did which could cause this problem.

  Try to force the connection to 2.4 ghz using different names for the various bands... or even better to use ethernet.

  I have only two audio files in my sequence, one of them suddenly stops and the error of "audio not found" appears, the other audio file

  continues to play for about 2 seconds and then stops as well.

  I can't find a solution and I have to finish this project quickly, so I can burn everything on DVD.

  I hope that someone will take pity on a bad Administrator stressed, having inherited an ESXi 5.0.0 build server 623860 and try to install Windows 2012... I know, I know!

  I do not have the Update Manager and I'm trying to patch update 3 via the command interface. I downloaded the update - from - esxi5.0 - 5.0_update03.zip to... [ISO-Storage]/Updates/update-from-esxi5.0-5.0_update03.zip and helped local shell via F2 on the console and SSH.]

  In both cases, it seems to me end up at the basic prompt, with none of the esxi CLI commands...

  ~ # esxcli

  SH: esxcli: not found

  ~ # vicfg - cfgbackup - save myserver.tgz

  SH: vicfg-cfgbackup: not found

  ~ # vicfg - hostops - information on the operation

  SH: vicfg-hostops: not found

  So I downloaded vCLI for windows with about the same amount of success...

  C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware vSphere CLI\bin > esxcli - kay - 9 server - use

  List of the preofile sources rname software admin - deposit = [ISO-storage] / updates/upgrades.

  esxcli cannot be used with version 4.0 or newer servers

  I solved the problem of the esxcli as well. As my login "admin" seems to be a privilege high as I can do, including execution known to the command line, it does not appear to have esxcli permissions. Registration as a works 'root '.

  Therefore, I think have more no problem.

  If anyone has any of these problems...

  (1) make sure that your version of vCLI matches your version of ESXi - vCLI 4.0 does not quite seem to run against 5.0 ESXi.

  (2) If you are 'away' esxcli and vi - cfg on a local console - check your permissions and login as "root".

• DCUI: COMMAND NOT FOUND

  Hello all;

  I'm about to upgrade my server ESXi from 4.1 to 5.1 in the next few days.  I through vCenter Update Manager and have taken the appropriate steps of research.  My question & concern is good.

  I want to see want happens through DCUI but I don't get - bash: dcui: command not found

  Now, I have followed the links:

  VMware KB: Access Direct Console User Interface (DCUI) since a SSH session

  VMware KB: Enabling root on an ESX host SSH connection

  and logged in as root but the command does not run.  I'm not able to view the DCUI (which is weird, indicating that another host on the vCenter, I can't PuTTy (SSH) in this host and see the fine, same DCUI ESX & build number.)

  Any Suggestions?

  You can connect to the Service Console, but keep in mind, there is no way to make a room upgrade from ESX to ESXi - 4 or 5 - there must be a new installation.

  which according to VMware KB: ESXi 5.x fails to install when using PXELINUX is due to running a 32-bit version of pxelinux.0

  rpm of syslinux containing pexboot.0 is syslinux-tftpboot - 4.02 - 7.2.el5

  The other suggestion to avoid tftp to build the vmware host must use nfs in the boot.cfg settings. https://communities.VMware.com/message/2163034#2163034

  It was a post that not solved and the settings, I did to get the system to build via nfs instead of tftp failed

  Hi Paul
  Tools.T00 contains the iso files that you will need to install vmware tools.

  An installation without tools.t00 seems to be fully functional - but I'm not 100% sure on this subject.
  My suggestion has been designed for troubleshooting - so if possible to continue your search for the real problem.

  Your tftp can be used not the largest files x MBs - either you hit a timeout - because the package does not arrive fast enough.
