  We are facing problems with ssh access on our ASA5512 on a Site-2-Site VPN tunnel.

  SSH seems to be implemented properly, because we can login from inside and outside on both Interfaces.

  But when we try to connect the ASA from a remote location with SSH Putty reports a timeout.

  We set up a lot of these configurations with ASA5510 and ASA Image 8.x without any problem, so I guess it must have something to do with the new version of the ASA.

  The value by defect-rsa-key was generated successfully.

  VPN is ok and log viewer shows:

  The config looks very good.

  Are you able to ping inside the interface through the tunnel.

  If not can check you the nat for traffic and adds the route search key word.

  If you use not all certificates on the SAA you can use the command for related on the SAA rsa keys:

  encryption key tied rsa or try to be specific: related encryption rsa label key<>

  Try to remove the SSH configuration and reapply.

  I would like to know if it works or not. If this isn't the case, then take debug ssh 255 and part.

  The only way I've found that works is the following:

  1. create a puppet called, for example, ClonePuppet. This is possible by choosing puppets you have and save as ClonePuppet.

  2. create your scene with ClonePuppet

  3. has chosen another puppet you have and now save this as ClonePuppet

  4. your scene now shows the new ClonePuppet the exact same behavior.

  Of course, the two puppet design that you choose to use should be adapted for stocks in the timeline panel. The minesweepers, dangles, origins etc all must match in all cases for all actions to be recognized.

  If I remember correctly, that's your administrator password local if it has been defined or the new password set if the model is no password defined. But then I did years ago doublecheck Yes.

  As I migrated my hosts to ESXi 4.1 to ESX5.0 Build 822926, I can't connect to these hosts using the SSH connection plugin.

  I tried with a vCO device version a 4.2 and another with version 5.1, without success.

  The error message is always the same: auth failed.

  But with PuTTY or other SSH client, using the same credentials, it works fine...

  I maybe missed something in the ESX 5.0 configuration?

  We used to activate SSH and PuTTY to connect to 5.5 ESXi host.

  However, a consultant suggested allow ESXi Shell and access it via DCUI.

  Would just like to ask you what is the difference between these 2 methods of access?

  Accusing Shell of ESXi is available by using two different ways.

  (1) local access to the shell of ESXi is available turning and by using directly from DCUI (Alt + F1), safer, since it is connected locally

  (2) remove access to the shell of ESXi is available by activating SSH Shell and using the SSH Client such as PUTTY etc to access. Since it is remote access, security is a bit of a cause for concern.

  This is the reason, the suggestion to use locally DCUI is given.

• ESXi 5 - added user cannot connect ssh

  I am lost in the vast amount of documents and have not found anything that, covering thus pointers to docs command-line ESXi will be very appreciated...

  I added a user (with password) on a host machine ESXi 5.0.0 made the new user member of the users group and granted access the user's shell. I have double-double-checked access password and shell setting, but trying to connect to the host fails: login just repeat the password, and then closes the connection.  After logging in as root, I can su to the new user (password is not required). Am I misunderstanding something, maybe added users can not connect?  Or have I just missed some setting somewhere?

  You must add the new user to the root group in order to ssh. That opens a lot of other security issues as well. As an alternative, you can also change the following files to add a user ssh:

  /etc/security/access.conf

  Add a line that allows your user. For example, for the "bot" user add the following before the last line (-:ALL:ALL) in the file):

  +: bot: ALL

  Edit the following file:

  / etc/passwd

  Find your username in the line add a base directory, the works/tmp and then change their interpreter/bin/Ash. For the "bot" user you have a line like:

  BOT: x: 501:100:ESXi user: / tmp: / bin/ash

  You should now be able to ssh in the host by using your user name. The problem is that these files do not have the sticky bit set, so once you restart changes will disappear. You can change this behavior to have your settings persist, but I'll be here all day describing the process. You can probably find a good ventilation of the how to make your setting persist on vm-help forums.

• ESXI host "not in compliance" with the profile of the host

  I have a host ESXI "not in compliance" with the profile of the host cluster. Attached screenshot shows TSM, TSM - SSH message. I've seen it before and fixed by stopping local and SSH support. This time however, the message does not disappear, even when local and remote technical support. I stopped the services and value manual. Any suggestions?

  Have you tried to check compliance again? As I got errors like that, they went all first I checked compliance again manually...

  If you can't get it by sysprep, you can use the VIX plugin for vCO to run a command in the guest OS once it is deployed and under tension.

• File deleted on esxi system after the restart with the last patch (256968)

  Since I installed latest patch on esxi (build 256968), every time that I reboot server esxi, I lost the files in / opt and the .ssh folder.

  Before this patch, the files were still there on reboot.

  Do you have any idea what's going on? Is this a new limitation of free esxi?

  This is provided with ESXi, there is difficulty set of files, including any of the local VMFS volumes that are kept at the restart. There is a cronjob schedule that works for the configuration files important backup automatically at a local bootbank, which is then loaded after the next reboot, all files created by the user and most likely using the Busybox does not support console will not survive a restart by default.

  If you use the ghettoVCB.sh - Free alternative for backup of VMS to ESX (i) 3.5, 4.x & 5.x , recommendation would be to store the script and all relevant files is the local VMFS volume or on the shared storage (NFS, iSCSI/FC SAN) volume.

  There is a script in "/sbin/auto-backup.sh" that you can actually run to see what files are being backed up, you can easily modify this script to save additional files which will ensure that they are saved on a restart.

• How activate/connect with SSH?

  For Beta3 release notes say is a new feature ' secure connection: you can now connect to the Tablet using Secure Shell (SSH) and download files from your application using SCP and SFTP.

  The simulator of listening on port 22 (the SSH standard) or any other port for SSH connections, with or without active development mode does not have a vanilla installation.

  I found the blackberry connect program in the SDK bin folder and tried this after creating a RSA2 key:

  The fichier.ssh/id_rsa.pub is generated as a SSH-1 using PuttyGen key.  I also tried a file SSH-2 RSA with the same results.

  The fact that he said that he "succesfully authenticated" it suggests successfully connected... probably using port 443 (https) the way I guess that deploy blackberry is.  However, after that he seems to say my key is not valid (not sure, I believe that), but also actively target "connection refused" (I think that... qconn is not listening on port 8000 or another).

  Any who have knowledge of this area, or wild guess I can try?

  OK, I am able to connect through SSH.  It's a little complicated at the moment but I'll simplify and post a recipe as soon as I can.

  For anyone technical enough to follow with minimal intervention:

  1. I generated a 4096-bit RSA key using 'ssh-keygen - b 4096' on a Linux machine, recording in the format 'test_rsa' and 'test_rsa.pub '.
  2. I transferred those to my Windows box.
  3. I called "blackberry-connect targetHost - PCMGM - devicePassword x - test_rsa.pub sshPublicKey."

  This operation transfers the public key in the device by connecting through qconn (port 4455) using unknown protocols.  The output looks like this:

  PROGRESS: Authenticating with target 192.168.7.172:4455
  PROGRESS: Encryption parameters verified
  PROGRESS: Authenticating with target credentials.
  PROGRESS: Successfully authenticated with target credentials.

  PROGRESS: Succesfully Connected
  

  Blackberry connect program continues to run, and as long as it is running at this point the Simulator will be listening for SSH connections on port 22.

  At this point, I had to take the test_rsa (the private key) file and import it into Puttygen using Conversions-> import menu button.  Save the private key, and load the key in the pageant.

  Finally, normally connect using PuTTY at the address PCMGM and sign in as "devuser".  This was discovered by looking in the /accounts folder using a primitive file browser application, where I found two subfolders, 1000 / and devuser.

• in PIX with SSH connection issues

  I have a PIX 506 running OS 6.2 (2) which is located in a demilitarized zone known as the PIX from the outside. It's behind an another PIX506 (PIX inside). The two PIX have Ganymede + configured for authentication of the connection.

  Last week the outdoor PIX crushed physically and I replaced it with a spare PIX part and he completely reconfigured.

  Now I can't connect to this outside PIX using SSH, despite the list of access inside PIX is correct and can SSH and Ganymede +. However, I can telnet to it.

  I use Putty to connect and when I start the session SSH from the PIX, the login window appears and disappears immediately without having the time to do anything myself.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  Additional information is needed to help. Have you installed the tools or the agent first? Believe that desktop computers available in the administrator of the display? Do you think all the right ports open on the desktop? Haven't you view files customer newspapers and agent you can edit? What is the error message get you from the customer?
