ESXi v4 and client vsphere 4

Hi all

I come to you pour 2 small information.

My first question is of VMware ESXi v4:

I recently installed this product on a server of my company, several VM turning on it without any problem.

Once the installation of my continued ESXi, I tapper my ESXi server IP in my browser, I was able to download/install VMware Vsphere client v4.

I then entered the key provided the golds of the download of ESXi v4. In short, vmWare vsphere client is he free, jai lu has several place that it was paid, if it is profitable, why I could install and use it without any limitations...

Second Question:

I have download Vsphere Management Assistant, the hen that I test send it on my via conveter VMware ESXi, I have an error message telling me that the host does not have the 64 bit OS. VMware Management Assistant is t - not x 86?

Thank you pour your answers,

Friendly,.

Hi Anthony,.

Welcome to the forums.

The vCenter allows not only to manage a fleet of ESX servers but brings you above all plenty of technical solutions to pay to the insurer a better use and availability of your virtual infrastructure: HA, VMotion, DRS, cloning...

Initially, the CPUs fitted to the Proliant ML350 G4 do not support the Intel VT function. You don't Pourrat so no installation of 64 - bit virtual machine. So, you don't Pourrat not use the VMA that is based on a 64 - bit CentOS.

A +.

  • Best way to make a copy of a virtual machine in ESXi 4 and the free version of vSphere client

    Hello

    I have:

    ESXi 4 Update 1, vSphere 4.0 Build 208167, vmware converter 4.0.1 client build 16.12.34

VM is Windows Server 2008 R2 Ent

I'm trying to make a clone of a virtual machine for the purpose of creating one server of another out of it.  I use the converter and still after I have successfully connected to the virtual machine, I always get the error "Unable to get information about the selected machine material" when you click Next.

My goal is to create a virtual machine.  Put an operating system on it, and then just use it as a model to create other virtual machines.  Is there a way to make that either is not involved or pay for an upgrade order lines?

If it means order lines, could someone please go through the steps to achieve this?

It would be great if I could understand why the converter does not work.  I heard I could drop-down list for version 3.0, but I could not find it available for download.

    Thank you!

Name change is not necessary, as the vmdk files will be isolated in the new VM folder. If you want to rename on the concern of the Organization, you will need the vmkfstools on RCLI user, but I think really is not so necessary, so you do not use complicated distributions of disc inside your data store.

About converter, I just wanted to know how you use it. Nevermind install again, I had kind of her. Check the settings change VM, on the Options tab, if the guest operating system is configured correctly. Even if this is the case, change to another, click ok and then configure it to the right and test to boost conversion.

  • VSphere Web client and client heavy cannot connect to Vcenter server 5.5, web client fails with 2032 error before the connection, then the work after one minutes ferw.

    Hi all

I really need help here.  I have a new installation of Esxi5.5 and installed the server vcenter build 5.5.0.5201 device 1476389.

I have host files properly configured for DNS and Server 2008 R2 running that I use to connect with the client or web client heavy.

Initially, I get an error with the web client to connect, he began to paint Vmware and when it comes to 'r' in the name it fails with #2032, so I can no longer

access the page at all, he says: connection refused for the page. If I wait a while I can connect again.

heavy client vSphere fails at this time as well.  However, I cannot communicate directly with Vsphere client to server esxi host and it works all the time.

There seems to be a problem with the device of vcenter server because the thick client fails, and does not open a backup program using vcenter server

    inventory when this happened.

Please help, it drives me crazy...

    Dan

    Hello

Since I found the solution to the problem of connecting to the device of vcenter.  It is a conflict of IP address on the network.  There was a machine with the same IP address virtuall

as the vcenter server.  This caused intermittent problems etc.. Why web client would still work if I have the vmware client open I do not know

so thank you for your help.

  • ESXi 5.5 - download Web Client vSphere

I just installed VMware ESXi Free Edition 5.5 on a Dell server, when I open VMware vSphere Client it says the following:

"In vSphere 5.5, the latest vsphere are available only via the Web Client vSphere. The traditional vSphere client will continue to operate, supporting the same function defined as vSphere 5.0, but not to expose the new features in vSphere 5.5.

The vSphere Client is always used for the vSphere Update Manager (VLM) and the host Client, as well as some solutions (for example. Site Recovery Manager). »

Where can I download vSphere Web Client?

    Thank you

weblclient is available as an ISO part vCenter. Only if you manage the ESXi host through vCenter you can use webclient. If you use free ESXi vSphere Client is the only way to manage the ESXi host

  • 5.5 and Windows Client vSphere vSphere

I recently did a fresh install of vCenter 5.5 and then improved my hosts to 5.5 from 5.0 and moved into the new vCenter. I noticed a slight problem with vCenter. I can log into it without any problem using the web client. It connects for the first time I try every time. However, when I try to connect to the same vCenter server with the Windows 'fat' client, there are connection problems, and I have to try several (5 - 10 times or more) before it will record in. It gives the following error:

"The vSphere client could not connect to"< vCenter >". The vcenter "< >" took too long to respond. (The command exceeded because the remote server taking too long to answer) ».

I don't know why the web client connects without problems while the Windows client is very random with implementation. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

VMware support had me increase the time-out value in the client vSphere for the server that seemed to help. Administration-> vCenter Server settings-> settings-> normal operations time-out - change from 30 seconds to 60 seconds.

  • client vSphere and vCenter server

The vsphere compatibility page 14 OS compatibility tables.  I see that Windows 2000 server sp4 has no compatibility with client vSphere and vCenter server.  This means that if you have 2000 servers in your current VMware environment you must upgrade the operating system or?

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Information on p.14 means that Windows 2000 SP4 is not compatible with (in other words, you can not install) the Client vSphere, vCenter Server and VMware vCenter Update Manager.

Specific versions of Windows 2000 Server can be verified to support in the Compatibility Guides.  As long as you plan to run the Client vSphere, vCenter Server or VMware vCenter Update Manager on Windows 2000 virtual machines, you'll probably be fine.  It depends on which version of Windows 2000, you have, but just check the compatibility guide to be sure.

    Good luck!

When you click on the console of a virtual machine, the server that hosts the vm responds back with its host name for your client to connect to.  Thus, the MKS console could not be connected to, and you could not see the virtual machine console, until you updated name resolution.  Given that the ESX host is back with a name, the customer could not resolve the name, if your client could not connect to the virtual computer mouse, keyboard, screen.  Hope that makes more sense.

    Hi friend

    Here are the simple steps:

    1. in fact, it comes with beam VC itself. When you install VC, on the first page itself you will find.

    2. Another way is: open your browser: type this address: "https://", you will get a page where the download link is available for the VI client. Download and install.

Note: I haven't read your full post, but I guess, you're looking for it. You have another customer Web option IE too delivered with beam of VC.

  • Customer error supported download the files for the client vSphere 5.0

    Hi all

I am new to VMware and learning ESXi 5.0. I built my 5.0 ESXi host and then downloaded the 5.5 vSphere client. Given that I have only one host; client vSphere 5.5 can handle that. I installed the client and enter the IP address of the host with root/configured password management. He gave the certificate WARNING said to download the files from customer support. He has always exceeded with error as you can see it.

I'm under client on a LAN connection high speed, I even changed the connections to see if access to the internet the problem. It is more simple home, 1 host installation, a windows 7 computer (with vSphere client installed), both connected to my DSL modem/router. The client support files won't download anything. • ESXi-v5 and multiple compared to individual (s) users

I noticed a discussion than ESXi (not on this site, but in other no vmware forums and it may have been v4, but the discussion has Reference v5 as well) only allows a single user to connect at the same time?

I have currently no access to one machine, so I can't verify this (today ' today/tomorrow), but I know that there are at least 3 different admin accts on 10 or so systems to one of the sites I visit. One is an administrator of the VM, another who takes care of storage and even a third dealing with newspapers. ESXi-v5 machines are all using Active Directory. All connected via SSH and the vSphere Client and I don't think I've ever heard talk of them complain that one person could connect to the system at the same time via SSH or the vSphere Client?

    Anyone?

    Hello

Multiple users can connect at the same time.

  • Get ESXI, up and running, but I have changed the NETWORK card settings, how do I fix? Help please!

ESXi perfect on my server but stupid ass me were running so I

play with the card NETWORK card and I changed to 1000 end, and it was

    100 MB and I forgot I was on a 10/100 switch,.

    in any case now I

cannot ping or you connect the box to esxi...

    What should I do?

    The

Server is a dual nic, should I connect the other cable network and

Configure the which? will it work?

I changed it using vSphere client...

Connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the host (as when you installed and initially configured ESXi)... Connect to the host interface and select the option "configure management network". Clear the existing NETWORK card, and then select the second network card. You will have to regularize, save the configuration when prompted and let it restart the management network. You should be able to manage the host by connecting the client vSphere again. Then, you change the network configuration to match the new settings, or difficulty of the NETWORK card that you have initially activated to use.

Is the host within a data center/server room? Why is the selector located only 100 MB? If the switch is able to go in the UK, ask that the host port ESXi will use either door to Go, full-duplex. Otherwise, you create a bottleneck, where it can be easily avoided.

  • client vSphere 4 cannot connect to ESXi3 3.5

Hi, I am not sure that this should go to 3.5 ESXi3 or ESXi4.

When I try to connect to the host of ESXi3 3.5 using client vSphere (v4), it

says I need to download and install the updates from the host. So, I did

This, but the downloaded file appears to be damaged. I tried to download

from the INTERFACE of the web host, always the same... corrupted.

So, I install VCenter and somehow it updates my VI client vSphere client and I can connect to the host of 3.5 ESXi3 now.

But is there no work around beside installing Vcenter? I can't sales VI3 somewhere? I don't have any other 3.5 ESXi3 to try to download the VI client.

    Thank you.

If you download a patch firmware for ESXi 3.5 and then extract the ZIP file, one of the ZIP packages will be the VI client embedded in it.

  • Why can't I see hosts/guests in my vCenter while I can see them in the Web Client vSphere?

    Hello

IM new to VmWare\PowerCLI.  The goal is to get a list of VM guests in a vCenter via PowerCLI.  I can see 80 guests when I connect via the Web Client vSphere, but when I use the PowerCLI cmdlets, a Get-VMHost returns nothing.  I did the following:

1 connect-VIServer the username-password IluvVmWare myserver.acme.com-acme\BigDog connects fine without error.

    2. $defaultviserver | Select * shows me the default connection properties.

    3 get-data center shows me 2 data centers; DC1 and DC2

    4 get-DataCenter DC1. Get-VMHost returns nothing

    5 get-VMHost returns nothing

    6 get-vmhost-Server myserver.acme.com returns nothing

What I do wrong with PowerCLI so I can't get a dump of the hosts on the vCenter?  I can see them all in the vSphere Web Client, so permissions seem fine.

    It looks like that there.

You must speak with the vCenter admin I guess.

More simple would you give permissions to view read-only on the vCenter and let this authorization to spread.

    Thanks for your help.

The DCUI is what you get with the keyboard and screen. From there, you go to your network settings and delete the entry VLAN, you've added.

Or you can make your Cisco switch port connected to the management of your ESXi interface a trunk and leave the VLAN 10 through it. When you do not specify a VLAN for your management interface frames are not marked.
