  So I tried to format and do a new partition on my hard drive and I used acronis Disk Director 11 and may not see the hard drive!

  Hi Malkeleah and all those who may have the same problem... I found the answer in my "Windows XP Professional to book Power Users!  OK, here's a summary of the problem and the solution:

  Problem: The new drive hard not recognized in 'My Computer', but it is everywhere else.

  Solution:

  1. Go to computer management
  2. Right-click on the drive in the lower right pane
  3. Select "Disk management" in the left menu
  4. Select format and after that.
  5. Select a drive letter... You're done!

  This problem has Nothing to do with the motherboard and connect the SATA power cable to the power supply cable can reduce noise... but it wasn't the case here, because today, hard drives are combined to reduce cross-contamination [it was done out of desperation to solve what I thought, it was a simple problem].  This "bug" is quite common with some SATAs, and all the time with IIs SATA... so here is the solution... good luck.
