Ethernet affecting measurements on compactRio stand-alone

Hi all

I have CompactRio cRio-9024 with Modules 9205 and 9217. CompactRio runs independently, without connection to a PC.

I have a RTD resistance thermometer, it's a PT1000 2 son. 9217 does not support 2-wire RTD, so I use 9217 as a current source and use jumpers to NI9205 to measure the voltage on the cables, so calculate the resistance of the sensor. (Resistance = voltage 9205 / constant current of 1mA 9217)

In addition to the RTD, I have also other devices connected to NI9205, what differential voltage is recorded measurred. Everything works well before PT1000 is connected.

The problem is, somehow the Ethernet affects all measures on the NI 9205 module. When Ethernet is connected to the PC (PC does not need to be turned on, simply connected), everything would work fine. When Ethernet is not connected, all the tension would be down and even go to negatives. I don't understand how it could be possible, that Ethernet could affect the system.

Any ideas? Maybe there is another way to measure the 2 wires PT1000 or how could remove the Bug of Ethernet?

Thank you all in advance!

Best regards

I would check for a ground problem. Sounds like your ethernet cable will carry a field, which isn't good. The cRIO otherwise is somehow?

    Hello world

I am beginner in LabVIEW and LabVIEW FPGA and RT. student internship that I work this month on FPGA project and my goal is to schedule a stand-alone on cRIO application.

I got a CompactRIO 9002 with an AIO 9215 analog input module and use LabVIEW 13. This cRIO Gets an ethernet and a RS323 port.

My request is to:-code FPGA by ethernet

-acquire a signal input of the NI 9215 module

-Send the data measured on a device (first on hyperterminal on PC and on an SD card or a storage device) by the port COM (RS232)

My development was to: 1. create a new FPGA project

2 code for the target FPGA vi and compile (InOut.vi)

3 code another vi to run the cRIO from my computer (OpenCloseFPGA)

At this stage, everything goes well and works and I followed the signal measured on OpenCloseFPGA.vi and my Pc Hyperterminal.

Can I track this topic 'http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370622L-01/lvrthowto/rt_building_rt_app/' on the creation and deployment of a stand-alone application in real time. But my RT generated and deployed application nothing happens. I followed other tutorials on standalone RT but I still stuck...

Could someone give me any tips or tutorials to help me?

I found the solution, there is a mismatch and a mistake in my project.

First, I use a cRIO 9002 and in building'step to unplugging it SSE2 option in "Advanced dialog box.

    See this topic.

The second was a mistake from myself, I give an ethernet address to RT host that cannot run in a standalone application (wireless).

Thank you for all your help.

  • stand alone compact rio

    Hi to everyone!

I am a student of the University and for my thesis, I use a COMPACT RIO with neither 9205 and gps module, some measures aboard an eletric car, measures will be saved to a TDMS file in the RIO COMPACT by a stand alone configuration and without connection to a pc.

The compact rio will begins with the car and it will go off with him also.
So I have a question, how can I stop the VI within the CRIO before turning off the car?  or in TDMS data will be saved in the same way without close the VI within the CRIO before turning off the car?

    Thank you

    Hello antoniolc!

There is no way of knowing inside CompactRIO, if the system will be shut down.

You must use an external signal to find out when your car will be stopped.

Or you can use a multiple TDMS file and like it, just the last TDMS file will be unreadable. But you can probably read all previous TDMS files.

    Best regards.

  • Stand-alone labview application (.exe file) does not run correctly

    Hi all

I'm doing a labview application only to run on another computer (I never did this before).

I went through the tools-> build application prompts and was able to build an exe file.

the program is supposed to control a power meter and measures of power, then save them in a text file.

When I run the exe, on the same computer, I compiled the exe, the program generates a text file to save data to, but he cannot communicate with the electricity meter.

There are a few screws Sub and a dll file that are used to communicate with the electricity meter. Would it be possible that I am not say labview to correctly

include these files when I create an executable?

What are some common problems that arise when building stand alone applications that could be cause of my problems?

And no one knows of any good tutorials on building applications stand alone in labview, other than the help files OR?

    Thanks for your help,

Also, if you used the VISA, include the runtime with your Installer.

  • Check if a VI runs as a Subvi or stand-alone

I have a set of measurement screws that I use as a stand-alone screws and buried deep inside the other screw that perform many different measures. Because I turn the screw, sometimes they have to initialization, VISA Open and Close VISA within structures case that I wired to a Boolean (is Standing Alone?)

Is it possible for the VI to determine if she is standing alone or be called without having me switch the Boolean value all the time. It would be nice if I didn't have to worry that every time that I the screws on their own.

I looked in the nodes property "" appellants names"and"Type VI", but they do not seem to be useful. Is there an other way to check if the VI is running on its own or has been called from another VI?

Use the function to the calling chain.  If the number of elements returned in the array is 1, then the VI runs highest.  If it is greater than 1, then it is a Subvi.

  • How can I control external devices using a stand-alone touchscreen with a LabVIEW app

For my senior project my group design and created a vehicle for extended range hybrid with 90 Li + battery which is charged by a 15 kW generator and/or who is also charged by a 5 kW fuel cell. Currently, our system is able to measure the tension on batteries and display them on a laptop via LabVIEW. To process these data, we use a cRIO FPGA. What we would like to do now, is having a touch screen for the pilot to choose which loads of source of battery power so that monitor a pressure reading from the fuel tank.

What kind of touch screens to LabVIEW to be downloaded on and used for controls?

A cRIO has the necessary capacity to supply such a screen and handle the transfer of the data from the sensor fuel and relay (for turning on and off will deepen)?

Do I need an additional license to create stand-alone applications and how I would go about creating a stand-alone application?

Sorry for the question as much. Any help with the answer. Thank you!

NEITHER sells computers touch screen that can be used to control LabVIEW applications.  You can find more information here: HMIS and industrial touch panels and here: LabVIEW Real-time and Touch Panel Deployment and replication resources. Our computers 6-inch touchscreen , run Windows CE, programming on them is a little different from the programming on a full Windows operating system.  You can find useful getting started with LabVIEW Touch Panel Module .

You can use third-party with the LabVIEW Touch Panel Module devices, although it takes a deployment license for it.  More information can be found in the getting started guide.

If you were able to send the information of cRIO on a network (which according to your description, seems unlikely), you can use a smartphone to control your application.  More information on our community of Smartphone group.

If you use the 6-inch touchscreen panels, they need 18 to 32 VDC (the fuse becomes an open circuit if the input level exceeds 33 VDC).  The transfer of data from the switching relay can be monitored and changed with the touch screen.

If you have traveled the road of the touch panel, you need to purchase the LabVIEW Touch Panel Module and a touchscreen.  Touchscreens OR have a touch panel deployment license.  Guides step by step to create the stand-alone application are in the getting started with LabVIEW Touch Panel Module .

Plug the AP directly on your PC not the router.

The best way to proceed is to comfort in the AP and make sure that the

AP can reach the laptop via a switch or a crossover cable

fixing directly from the laptop and the AP.

With your cable from the console, you will be able to see if you pressed on the

    button for 20 seconds.

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return standalone by LWAPP mode

Download a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

Step 1 in the IP address of the computer on which your TFTP server

software should be from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure that the PC contains the image point (for example file

    as c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for series 1200 point access) in the

The TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated. Monitor of the

TFTP program to see the code for transfer to the AP.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder

    C1200-k9w7 - tar.default for series 1200 point access,

    C1130-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1130 access point, and

    C1240-k9w7 - tar.default for 1240 series access point.

Step 4 connect the PC AP with a category 5 (CAT5)

Ethernet cable. This must be a crossover cable if connected

to the AP. Or ethernet cable is normal if the AP and laptop are connected

    to a switch.

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access

    point.

Step 7 press and hold the MODE button until the status light turns red

    (about 20-30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait that access point restarts, as attested by all lights

Green followed the status light blinks green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the graphical interface or

    the CLI.

If the image is not download from Server/tftp on your computer, you may need to delete the previous image of tar on the access point of the console:

Simply hold the mode button until the light is red.

Then, by using the console port, make sure that the guest is AP: and do a show «»

"Flash:" on the device and make sure that there is no image that begins

"c1130-rcvk9w8-tar..." ». If there is an image that starts with who then

    Delete it with "delete flash:

Step 11 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the GUI or the CLI.

  • Firewall high availability cisco asa can be divided into stand-alone license

I have two ASA5545-X with HA/active license and now my client has changed the designated and wants to divide these into stand-alone firewall.  How will this affect the license?  Y at - it no problem with that, or they will be able to run just fine as standalone firewall?

    Thank you

    Howard

    Hello

To my knowledge if the client has obtained the ASA5545-x firewall initially with identical licenses it should be no problem using them separately.

Because your customer is currently using Active/active failover, this already means that firewalls are in multiple context mode. In turn, this means that he or she was not able to use all the VPN features licensed on the ASA pair and therefore received no VPN license on each unit.

So it seems to me that, given the information you have so much that there should be no problem using the firewall separately.

The single license related thing I can think of at the moment, it is that if you want to keep them in multiple context mode and only acquired license of security context for the other.

The bugs that I've provided are also associated with stand-alone switches, I can't share bug internal details.

I've seen this problem before, & I understand that it is a standalone switch.

Most of the time that it would be because ports of defective battery which can not really be detected there software. I also looked at the case attached to the bug & found a few similar cases.

  • Oracle business rule editor/designer as a stand-alone web application

    Hi all

I want to use the engine of trade rules Oracle on non_soa J2EE application with weblogic server.i found my solution in this doc http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28271_01/user.1111/e10228/non_soa.htm#ASRUG828

But I want to have my business rule editor/designer as a stand-alone web application for the use of analysts to create the new rule, modify existing and... .without deployment main editing application and rules affected on app at runtime.

    Can I do it?

    Thank you.

    Fazel.

Check the functionality of the SOA composer where you can manage the rules and make them deployable to the execution of composites and applications that use the rules.  You may need to develop the first time within Jdev but you can edit and change them in SOA composer.  You can find the composer SOA in your local installation to http://hostname:soaPort/soa/composer /

In addition, please refer to the documentation here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/user.1111/e10228/rtdt.htm

  • Want happens to a stand-alone license after you purchase/cancellation creative cloud?

I have a stand-alone license of Lightroom 6 and I am now looking to buy a map of creative cloud. Because Lightroom is included in the CC plan, I guess that Lightroom will be updated via CC and is no longer my standalone license.

But what happens if I cancel my CC plan in the future? I will be able to return to my stand-alone license?

Do I need to uninstall the CC version and reinstall the stand-alone license?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi e__p,

I have a stand-alone license of Lightroom 6 and I am now looking to buy a map of creative cloud. Because Lightroom is included in the CC plan, I guess that Lightroom will be updated via CC and is no longer my standalone license.

But what happens if I cancel my CC plan in the future? I will be able to return to my stand-alone license?

Your Standalone with Lightroom version will not be affected if you cancel CC membership in the future.

Lightroom CC and 6 Lightroom are produced almost similar but different licensing system.

Do I need to uninstall the CC version and reinstall the stand-alone license?

Just log out of Lightroom CCfrom help > logout

Then reconnect, it should say your CC membership is expired/Invalid.Follow the instructions mentioned in How to convert a Lightroom CC 6 Lightroom trial to serialize Lightroom 6.

    Kind regards

  • vpxuser on stand-alone ESXi

    Hello.

I always thought that vpxuser is created on ESXi during the process of attaching to vCenter. Hoewever I figured out that this account exists on ESXi, even if the host is not managed by vCenter and has never been (I don't know where I read the news that vpxuser exists only if the host is managed by vC, there is no such info here vSphere 5.5 Documentation Centre). So my question is: what vpxuser need for in the case of standalone ESXi? And could change its permissions or password affect somehow the stand-alone host?

I can't tell you the reason why, but with the last ESXi versions (including 6.0) vpxuser is a predefined on the host computer and not only created with the addition of vCenter Server as in the older versions of the host. The latest documentation (assignment of permissions for ESXi) includes this design change.
