Ethernet and Wireless does not not (brand new Inspiron N4050)

I just bought a new laptop today here in Chile, South America. It is a Dell Inspiron N4050, running Windows 7 Home Basic, Service Pack 1. I was not able to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable or wireless. The wireless indicator is lit (duh!) and the ethernet cable works with a PC, sitting next to the laptop. I have a modem ARRIS (Yes, third world) and it works fine wirelessly with other devices such as phones and laptops here. When I plug the ethernet cable it tells me that it cannot identify the network. I see not all wireless connections, but it's the same, impossible to identify the network. I tired all sorts of things, after studying Informatics myself I'm not a beginner, but the OS is in Spanish, so it's really hard to make sense of things. If I can't fix this soon I'll be forced to reformat the computer. Pros do it is that I'll get the English operating system and lose all waste Dell pre installed on their products. The downside is that I don't have the drivers installed for the NETWORK card and other things (although they should be on the optical disc supplied with the laptop). Perhaps the problem is the modem, maybe I need a driver for it. Somehow, I don't think that's the case because I brough my own hard drive of my home country and I put it inside the PC and instantly connected to the internet via the modem. Any thoughts?

  • Installed Windows 7, Ethernet and Wireless does not. No HP tool... Help.

Long story short, I had to install Windows 7 and I used to have the HP support on my laptop but I don't do that anymore. I own a HP Pavilion G7 1329wm. 4 GB of Ram, AMD Vision of A6, MCE don't know what else to say except that I have a sticker that says "HP first Experience".

I plugged in an Ethernet cable for the mdoem, lights on the modem so I know that works, I plugged the ethernet cable into my laptop, and a white light came through the ethernet jack in. I tried to diagnose the problem in network and sharing, but nothing comes. No connection even if the modem is internet radio and I'm sure that I'm on another computer with the same access to the network. Can I get help?

    Hello:

    The ethernet controller is:

You must visit the AMD site for the SM Bus controller, because it is part of the chipset driver that is not taken in charge of your PC and driver page.  Download and install the drivers for the chipset Windows 7 from the link below

    http://support.AMD.com/us/gpudownload/Windows/pages/raid_windows.aspx#2

The PCI device is probably the realtek card reader that needs a driver.

Because there can be a lot of different styles of cards installed in your laptop wireless, I need to display the ID of the hardware for the network controller element.

If you do not know how, please read this guide where they show you how to find one. Just do the same thing for the network controller.

  • WRT610N v1 - Wi - Fi and Wireless does not. Fried?

Howdy... I think that my router is fried.  Unable to access this router wireless.  Wireless name appears on my PC (an office, 1 HP laptop HP) 2, but none connects.  Wired connection does not work also, but I can't connect to the internet if connected directly to the cable modem.

Do I have to reset everything (page of the router, etc.) ... or it is fried.

If it was just question wireless, I'd understand reset of the router.  But its also the wired connections does not, so that's why I think its something more sinister.

    Thank you

OK - I think I found the solution to the intermittent wireless connection.  Changed the channel on the 2.4 GHz from 6 to 11, and I did have a problem with the WiFi since (typing wireless now).

Thanks to Saber-toothed for help on this global problem.

I have re-installed Windows XP. My wireless does not, any more than my ethernet connection. What should I do?

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site
and search for the Windows XP drivers for your specific computer or motherboard model number.

If there are Windows XP drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and burn it to a CD/DVD.
Then, after installing XP install all device drivers, start by installing the card mother/chipset driver first,
then the SATA, Audio, USB, LAN, etc, drivers.

List of computer manufacturer support sites:

If you have an Intel motherboard, you can try the Intel driver update utility: http://www.intel.com/support/detect.htm?iid=dc_iduu

    Graphics/video drivers:
Check the download site of the manufacture of the graphics card for the newer Windows XP drivers for your card.

  • I downloaded the new tools tab of 2011 and it does not appear in Firefox c. 40.0.2

'Ask.com' guard replace my new choice of tab and 'ask.com' (and 'request') does not come under the extensions, modules, plugins, or even on my computer. I tried every fix offered by Mozilla and Microsoft without success. Today, I found and installed the new tab add-on tools, and it does not, even after restarting Firefox.

Help please remove ask.com as my new tab page!

Hi, 'Application' must be there somewhere, please try through Remove Ask Toolbar and Ask.com Search (uninstall Guide) by the Councils of Malware.

Note that not all programs removal allows to detect all malware, you may need to run multiple or all of them.

After the removal you may need to reset your new tab, search etc, what you can do by running the add-on SearchReset.

I see that you have the extension of new tools tab, which should be in your modules Manager Ctrl + Maj + A > Extensions, but 'Request' can interfere with it.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • Satellite Pro L40 Wireless does not and wont stop correctly

    Hello
just got a Satellite Pro L40-15 1 week ago and it's been downhill.

The Wireless does not work (and yes the switch is activated and drivers installed). Sometimes windows recognizes no device when I boot.

And when I stopped he said blocking down, but crashes just on this screen.

Now, I'm an advanced user, so I've tried many things. Can anyone help?

    Thank you

As a first step, I would recommend to use the Toshiba Recovery CD and renew the operating system.
Then update the Vista of the State. I mean to install patches and fixes Vista all published.

    Check this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//thread.jspa?MessageID=107665

Here you can see that a missing patches can have a bad influence on the wireless network card and the entire operating system!

    Good luck

Hi, I have re-installed Windows Vista on my laptop (dell insparon) 1525 and now my wireless does not work. ive tried re installing driver, but it says operating system not supported. I used the disc that came with the computer of the re install and I even tried to install service pack 1. .

original title: Wireless problems after install.

I just tried both, the dell is one that says OS not supported"and the intel, it went very well, but my 'network controller' still have a yellow top thing in Device Manager. and I always wireless. any other ideas? Thank you for the help

Question...  You have whatever it is listed in the "Network adapters" section of "Device Manager" now?

While ensuring that the exclamation point is not for your wired network device (plausible) or bluetooth (plausible) and you just need to configure your wireless network to connect to * your * wireless network now.

You may have to contact Dell to see why none of their drivers receive your wireless device works on the original operating system, what they included.  This could be a hardware problem PURE.
