Even after running in safe mode, Firefox is too slow, why?

I use the latest version of Firefox 22.
I tried running in Mode safe
I'm running on Vista Home 32 bit, 2 GB RAM
It seems to use an average of at least 200 MB of memory when not in Safe Mode
However, he always uses loads of memory and CPU - two times more than Internet Explorer.
I don't know why, but I have to leave Firefox if it continues, as too much for my PC.

It does not hurt to do the following (apologies, if already done):

1 plugin Check:

Please check if all your plugins are up to date. To do this, go to the Mozilla Plugin Check site.

Once you are there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see in the list of plugins that have a yellow button to update or a red button update now , please put to update these immediately.

To do this, click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps in the installation process.

Hi, John. I had to deal with this virus of the Windows repair. I have had pretty good luck (fingers crossed anyway) by using the removal guide posted on bleepingcomputer.com.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-Windows-repair

They have a program called rkill download that stops all the running processes. Allows you to prevent the virus from Windows repair. It will give you a file log and show you things that stop you. Write those down.

I had the same problem you had with not be able to update Malwarebytes. I would like to run rkill, run Malwarebytes, and then reboot and repair Windows would jump to the top. On the third try, I didn't restart after running rkill and Malwarebytes. Instead, I searched for the files that rkill to stop (and I wrote down) and remove them manually from the C drive. Also, I have downloaded and run CCleaner which has removed registry now dead keys associated with the repair of Windows virus in the registry.

Then I rebooted. That seemed to do the trick: I was able to update Malwarebytes again. I ran the program display offers the site computer network, and which unhid all files that was hiding the Windows repair virus.

Again seems to work... thought it might be of help to you as well! Good luck!

  • Games running in safe mode

Im running windows 7 64 bit and Im trying to use a couple more old games of Win XP, but for some reason any they (and only they) are managed by 7 in safe mode. I have DX 9 installed, the drivers are up to date, it's just these two games running in safe mode nothing to another and this pc is an installation I built last fall so he must smoke them so I know its not not this as a lack of performance.  Any ideas why its safemoding them and how in non-secure mode them? I limit myself to just get out them of safe mode if no one has any idea why its doing.

    Hello

Looks like you're in XP compatibility mode, which is fine.

Make older programs in this version of Windows (Windows 7)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

Have you tried right clicking on the shortcut to the program or the .exe and select "Run As Administrator"? Perform, even if your user name is an administrator. Try right click on the actual Setup.exe and choosing the option "Run As Administrator"? Perform, even if your user name is an administrator.

    Windows Virtual PC
    Download Windows XP Mode
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Virtual-PC/Download.aspx

Windows XP Mode (Windows 7 only, but not one of the Home versions) "you are not eligible to download Windows XP Mode. You must have Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or full to run Windows XP Mode." If you have an old XP CD (or other older Windows CD) available you can simply download the Virtual Machine and spend the XP Mode download. This warranty covers the gambit set of VMS in the 'Home' versions if you want to have a look. Of course you will need a licensed copy of XP to install and run in any of them (except XP Mode).

    Hope the information is useful.

  • I get an Fatal Exception on start up error, and I can only run in safe mode on my dv6

I get an Fatal Exception on start up error and I can only run in safe mode on my dv6, can someone please help?  I don't really want to reset to the factory settings I have to reinstall everything.  I tried to go back through the system restore, but it keeps telling me that there is no restore point?  I'm running Windows7 64 bit OS

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Hazel,

Start in Safe Mode, open windows control panel, open programs and features and uninstall Comodo Firewall (this will probably be listed as Comodo Internet Security depending on the version).

Once completed, restart the laptop in Safe Mode .

As before, open all programs, open accessories, right-click on command prompt and select "run as Administrator".  In the command prompt type the following commands and press enter after each one.

Drivers CD                (Note that there is a space between cd and drivers)

del cumon.sys           (Note that there is a space between the led and cumon.sys)

    output

NOTE: If you get an error after entering del cumon.sys as the "specified path cannot be fouund", it's Ok.

Restart the computer and see if Windows starts normally.

    Kind regards

Safe mode disables extensions in Firefox 4, and disables hardware acceleration.
