• Smart view Ribbon not displayed when Excel is called using VBA

  Hyperion dear gurus,.

  I am in need to call refresh smartview by calling excel with VBA from excel module in another sheet (master). But when I invloke Excel using VBA, smartview Ribbon not be enabled, because of which the HypConnect, HypVMenuRefresh command does not work. If I open excel directly and run the module, it connects very well and did the update with no problems. I tried to activate and deactivate the smartview using VBA, but it does not work either. If I call excel directly using a batch by using the call command, then it works fine, but the batch file does not close as if I use the ThisWorkbook.Close command, then it does not completely close Excel, the instance is running, and if I try to close it using Application.Quit, then it closes Excel completely. Any help would be much appreciated.

• Smart View Add - In in Excel 2013 disappers

  Smart View add-in disappears whenever I run a special on a range of new or existing and close the Excel file. When I re - open this file Excel same or new, Smart View missing once again, so I go to Option > Add-Ins > and this is under the Application Inactive Add-Ins. To activate it, I'm going to manage the COM add-ins and check the Oracle Smart View for office option. It works, but I have to do it EVERY time that I re - open the excel file.

  quick, followed to my previous note, with a slight variation on the solution of JM, I've been able to resolve these two issues of users on a system of users that the key was not in HKEY_Local_Machine but in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

  so, to quote with slight modification...

  Open regedit and locate the entry

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin\

  and make sure that the LoadBehavior key is set to 3.

  My guess is that the difference was caused by the way in which it has been installed and the local user rights.

  Please follow the steps below

  1. from Control Panel for any installed smatview, if so please uninstall the same

  2. take the backup of the Windows registry.

  3 remove the entries of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\options

  4. download the latest version of smartview from the link below.

• Smart View Excel Add - In Error Message

  A client was trying to perform Smart View and it crashed. The display then shows the message/question Excel:
  
  «Excel has experienced a serious problem with the snap "oracle hyperion smart view for office, edition of fusion".» If you have seen this message more than once, you must disable this add-in, and check to see if an update is available. Do you want to disable this add-in? "(Yes/no)
  
  The customer has NOT disabled, but rather disconnected Smart View and then reconnected. When they did that, they were hunted Smart View after a few minutes and was then again reconnect.
  
  Is there a solution for this problem? They really need disable the add-in, and then add the Smart View? Please indicate the exact steps to solve this problem.

  Whenever I encounter this problem, I simply close excel, put an end to all the processes related to excel and excel reopens.

  However, said that the problem is known and we have a new bug to the same EXCEL CRASHES when YOU OPEN OR SAVE a FILE [Bug ID 12957863] (September 8, 2011).

  I can't find any way to stop what is happening.  The context is to convert legacy Add - in reports.  Users want to change the layout at all, so avoidable.

  It's actually very interesting. Older versions of the Add-in would not put anything in cell A1.   Aftering digging a dimension on a line of an ad-hoc query and drilling then upwards, it does not appear that Smartview 'cleans' extra blank rows on a grid on which he hasn't needed. As a result, drilling down on one another Member of the line inserts a large number of blank lines between members of drill down, a line for each of the lines of the grid not erased.
  
  A solution for this is to remove all empty lines in the grid before you drill down on the second dimension. But it's bad enough from a user perspective. Mutiple users encounter the problem. If someone has encountered the same situation and, if so, did you find a fix?

  This is a know bug. The work around is to disable "Preserve formulas and comments on Ad-Hoc operations (except Pivot)" in the options of the Member before you start to do your zoom in or out. (new listing) I suggest making it default and then having the zoom add formulas as needed.

  I have just confirmed with 11.1.1.3 using 11.1.2.1 SmartView that you don't see the task of the lists. It is logical in fact that the supplier of SmartView server side must supports this feature. So to use to-do lists, you would need a 11.1.2 server at least.

• Issue of Hyperion Planning Smart View with the names of the members & alias

  IM using Smart View "Essbase' connection to a worm 11.1.1.3, however the connection of essbase, Hyperion Planning Application I'm not able to select the view options smart to see the alias, the members or both. I change the setting (duplicate names allowed members = true) directly the properties of the sketch in EAS, and now I am able to see the names of borrowing, but if time I update it using web/workspace planning, this setting is cancelled. In addition I don't have something I should use with planning. Any comments?

  First of all, I hope that you have not changed the properties of the sketch in environmental assessments for a planning application.
  For more information on the use of pseudonyms in smartview have a read of:- Smartview - display options to display the names of the - alias
  Also you only will be able to view member name or alias not both at the same time.

  Looks like you meet which is a known bug. You should switch to Smart View 9.3.1.5 or higher. See the 1072551.1knowledge base article, for example.

  Hi guys when you run a report using Smart View, I get an error increase the value NetRetry County and/or Net delay in the file essbase.cfg. But I am able to run the same report using Excel add-in.

  When you connect to Essbase in Smart View, your actual connection is what is called the service provider. It is another service that could be run on a completely different Essbase server itself. If there is a lot of congestion on the network or if you have a slow network, the additional proxy can be put you on the response timeout.
