Excess of churning of cpu

My Windows7 Dell often "runs away" with the cpu at 45/50% use even if I'm not running all programs.  I see the process mcshield is very active and no other process is running.  In the PROPERTIES I could reduce its priority, but I get severe warnings not to do so.  When I ticked the box reduced priority, received warning and then click CANCEL, the program stopped running.  Throughout this time, input/output light for hard disk was green.

My question is: what is the purpose of MCSHIELD, and I can cancel it or turn it off?

Thank you

Vince

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - define the VIEW
for the drivers Microsoft hide - updated those without drain in their names. (Also updated
the BIOS and chipset drivers.)

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

Since HP has really managed to kill the line of envy and merge it with the Pavilion dv line, brand envy low poor quality material pavilions, I still use my old, real envy 17 3d 1195ea apart elitebook workstations brilliant, because his only able successor, the 17 line 3200, is no longer available for purchase , and something more recent (envy j# line) is low-middle-end consumer crap.

However, since a few weeks I meet some really strange and excessive overheating of the CPU (although the 5850 m GPU was overheating mainly of firs to date).

It is idling at 65-85, but with each burst (happening several times a second), it reached 99 to 100 degrees for a fraction of a second. That is to say. times are constantly jumping up to 100.

even strongly linked to the GPU games keep the GPU at 90-95 degrees (from my experience in the past, during bad weather the GPU begins to 104 degrees, so no question of limitation at all), while the CPU gets up to 100 and the throttles.

now my question - is the only explanation for what the thermal paste has become dysfunctional? That is to say. repasting it would solve it?

or else maybe the reason for this?

OK, repasting has a job well done. now, I'm back at temperatures around 85-98 for two, CPU GPU & under medium to heavy load. Surf and light load remains at 70-80 degrees.

  • Reformat my iMac?

I have an iMac 27 "Intel Core i5 w/8 GB of RAM in December 2012, now under OSX Mavericks. I have not updated my system b/c I am afraid that my CS6 Adobe and other applications are not compatible, I still need. I was migrating my files and applications on 3 recent iMacs in the past 10 years every time I get a new Mac. Make sure that all required software updates are performed as they come.

I've known repetitive problems during the past year which have been resolved using the Applecare Support and trial and error, but my Applecare has just expired. The biggest problem is that applications are run very slowly and take forever to load - up to 3 minutes sometimes. There are the spinning beachball. Sometimes apps are block and I have to force to leave them. Sometimes it takes a hard stop and restarts as much as 2-3 to get back to 'normal '. I experience problems when navigation where Web sites will not load and getting stuck reloading pages (this may be a problem of police according to my last dose Applecare) web. I am using Malwarebytes, but he finds that rarely something suspect and Tech Tool did not also come with something suspicious. I wonder if moving old files/applications every time I get a new Mac is causing it to be slow. Or is it for policing? (I work with dozens of fonts and many remain active in my fonts utility).

I plan to start again and reformatting of this Mac. The new OSX Upgrade. I want to migrate the old files and applications for the reformatted Mac in a selective way and upgrade of those who no longer work. It's that or a new Mac purchase, but would rather try to do a better job. My MacBook Pro running the same OS and works much more vivid.

Suggestions appreciated. Y at - it somewhere I can read about reformatting in detail? Reinstall the old files and applications from a backup drive?

Thanks to all who took the time to read this and respond.

Had to take the machine a tech I know.  It was the motherboard.   Thermal paste had disappeared from the excessive heat of the CPU and GPU and the poor ventilation of the machine design.   Costly, preventable and unnecessary repairs... HP was worth investing in better design systemboard for their laptops and notebook computers.

HP response... your notebook $ 1200 of the scrap and buy another... and they will add the warranty one year.

  • How can I reduce thermal excessive CPU in a dc5100sff with a 651 office 3.4 GHz Pentium 4?

I have a desktop dc5100 Small Form Factor (sff) PC.  Processor: Pentium 4 651 TDP of 86 Watts, Windows XP Pro, 80 GB SATA II (3 Gb/s) hard drive and a heat sink CPU upgrade / fan with 3 copper heat pipes h/p p/n: Rev.D 36449-001.  He ran ~ 60 when I bought the OEM 2 copper pipe heat radiator and fan, and the addition of the new radiator/fan assby. with heat copper 3 pipes had no improvement OEM.  I noticed when the temperature of the processor even reaches 65 ° C; the fans never accelerate.  I went into the BIOS and triggered the setting (under 'THERMAL') to 'level 5' comes from the idle processor fan to maintain temperatures at the SC 50'.  I also removed the heatsink heat from the processor and applied new thermal "grease", and that did not help.  Anyone have any suggestions? or have I missed something?  I have all the downloads firmware BIOS installed.

    Hello wfejnieh2,

You should do a few things when dealing with the heat inside the computer.

1 clean the entire system and make sure there is no excessive amounts of dust inside the computer. Over time dust accumulates in the system so that's to be expected, however you want to ensure that dust does not start clogging up the system.

    2. check all your fans. Make sure that all fans are working properly and look. If a fan does not work, it must be replaced.

    3. make sure that none of the fans blocking the air flow. This will also include ensuring that the fans are either blowing or depending on need fans.

    4. If your processor is running hot check the heatsink and make sure it works properly. If the heatsink is not or do not do is then the processor will fire and do it quickly.

  • Excessive CPU usage during online streaming

    Hello!

First of all, let me tell you how great it is to have a support forum for my new laptop.

I have a couple of things that maybe someone knows a lot more than myself will not be able to help me with (I hope)

The first thing is (and the title of this thread):

CPU use excessive multimedia Youtube streaming while.

During playback of a standard video stream of You Tube, the processor in the Task Manager is erratic to say the least. The indicator CPU usage jumps upwards to 85%, and during playback, causing the stream to "stutter".

I use the latest versions of FireFox (17.0.1) and Adode Flash plug in (11.05 r502) even though I know You Tube will flow its media using HTML5, without the need for the Shockwave plugin.

    The second thing is:

    Slow system

I haven't used this laptop since I bought it new in July 2012. I recently needed to use and found that the entire system is extremely slow.

I haven't used internet on this computer until today. The software I used is media production tools. However, open the Control Panel, start remote system, using Windows Explorer, any task seems incredibly slow.

    The third thing is:

Start of this laptop seems to use about 1.2 GB of Washington.

If someone has any advice they could give me it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers, Dave

Nice that you share your experience with your laptop, but I will say a:
You take on the laptop but no one knows what model of laptop you have exactly.

    > CPU usage excessive while Youtube multimedia streaming.
    > During playback of a video stream standard You tube, the processor in the Task Manager is erratic to say the least. The indicator CPU usage jumps upwards to 85%, and during playback, causing the stream to "stutter".
    > I'm using the latest versions of FireFox (17.0.1) and Adode Flash plug in (11.05 r502) even though I know You Tube will flow its media using HTML5, without the need for the Shockwave plugin.

This happens because of the Forefox or the plug-in for the Forefox.
Maybe you should try another internet browser

How about new installation OS, system using CCleaner and disabling context is not necessary cleaning processes?
Processes that are running in the background may be checked in MSCONFIG disabled
But as this feature is recommended for advanced users only, you mustn't touch him without knowing what to do.

Do you think that this value is false, or maybe the operating system uses for a lot of RAM?

    Hello

    1. What is the error message or an exact error code?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if it helps.

    Method 2:

  • Excessively the CPU usage high on my Equium M70

    Hello

Recently in the last month my summer CPU usage hit 100% when I m not running any software tax (only internet explore and windows media player).

It is slowing down the load time and the area near the fan is hot enough.

I have a Satellite M70-337, with a 1.7 centrino processor and now 2 GB of RAM (formerly 512 megabytes). I upgraded the ram in December and had no problems like that, now it just started happening recently, I have installed everything that would, there is no unnecessary programs running and it was after I restored my computer to factory with the startup disk settings (a month later), he seems to have come from nowhere. On the list of the Task Manager it shows my web browser and Media Player by using most of the CPU, but I could have sworn that they use so far before.

I don't know if the RAM would have been a factor, but it was the correct RAM for it and windows recognized to 2 GB.

Why would it suddenly happened any ideas guys?

    Hello

I have the same model of laptop and at the moment I have no such problems. To be honest, I did new installation OS 3 months ago and after installing Microsoft Update, I noticed this laptop does not work as before. Just for example: if I use IE7 extensively with several different tabs in the Task Manager I can see this need for IE more than 300,000 k of memory and crashes somehow. After the closure of the IE and ending THE process sin Task Manager I can work normally again.

I don't really know how your operating system is configured, but in the Task Manager, you should see what running process is responsible for the high CPU usage. Maybe some antivir application? Sorry, but it is really not easy to sayt why this happens. Play around with the current process.

  • El Capitan 10.11.2 Apple Mail excessively high CPU

I recently bought a brand new MacBook range with all updates. Equipping themselves with my 2 Gmail accounts in Apple Mail, I noticed the MacBook to start to run very slow and met a lot of spinning.

I did a little digging to find out what could be the cause of the problem and found Apple Mail use about 200 ~ % CPU. My Gmail accounts have been configured as IMAP and have about 50 IMAP folders I use for archival purposes.

This is due to the first seeds in El Capitan 10.11.2? who could potentially be solved in 10.11.3? Is that all knowledge in a way to help relieve the pressure on my MacBook to make it more usable?

  • Why is-disk cleanup using excessive cpu

Why my disk cleanup tool uses 100% of my cpu when checking files to remove? Microsoft has a software revision FixIt who would limit their cleaning tool for maximum cpu utilization of 50%. A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments.

cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.
