excitement of the thermistor and NI6224 DAQ board / whatever it is quick and (relatively) cheap?

Hello world

I need to measure temperatures between 15 ° C to 40 ° C and to resolve precisely the changes in 0.1 ° C. My thermistor has a nominal resistance of 22 kOhm at 25 ° C and the resistance of 14 KOhm at 37 ° C. constant dissipation in air at 25 ° C is 0.3 MW / ° C - but the thermistor will be used in aqueous solution. I have a NI6224 DAQ card with a connector in SCB-68 and Labview 7.

How do my NI6224 work with my thermistor with minimal cost?

In particular:

the NI6224 has no analog output. Can I use a digital output as a power source? I would say no because the current digital output is 24 mA, it would make my time 14 KOhm > 10 V, which is the input of the Board of Directors range 24. Is this correct?

I could buy a module NI 9265 + chassis + cables etc to provide the excitation of the thermistor current and connect his two sons to a Council NI6224 differential voltage input? Y at - it any cheaper option with others OR or equipment of third parties?

Thank you in advance for your time and help

(Note that this message was posted in response to another thread named "thermistor". I'm following the suggestion to move here in a new thread to increase visibility and try and get help...)

Yes.

You are correct about both measures ended up alone. The other end of the probe will be connected to the Earth.

There is no advantage to a measure differential in this situation because there is no true differential signal.  The two voltages are referenced to ground.

Calibration is always a good idea. Here, he will compensate for differences of Thermistors and fixed any deviation from the nominal value of the resistance.

Even if your temperature is probably change very slowly, it can be useful to sample at a rate groups and average high of samples to produce a single reading. This can considerably reduce the noise. A common source of noise is the electric current. By sampling at a multiple of the line frequency of power, such as 1200 Hz and then with an average of 1200 samples, you get a reading per second with substantial reduction in 50 or 60 Hz noise.

  • best way to measure the thermistor

    Hello!

We are looking for a solution for measuring temperature thermistor. I've read the material resources OR recommend for the thermistor measures.
Can you give me some ideas other alternatives for usable material temperature through resistance (we would use the default configuration, excitation of 2.5 Volts and a resistance of 5 + thermistor). So we need something capable of giving 2, 5V output and to measure the tension caused falling across the thermistor.

Would be a NI USB-6009 suitable for this task? I guess that the resolution is not enough maybe?
Another option might be cheaper with a USB-GPIB interface Keithley 2010 multimeter, but in this case what should we use as a reference of tension?

    Thanks for the tips!

I want to second opinion to Henrik about repeatability in high resolution.  Measures of temperature with Thermistors are particularly difficult.  You have to worry:

    1. Auto-echauffants because of the power generated by the excitation current

    2. Time to balance the thermistor and electronic

    3. Stability of the excitation source

    4. Stability of the measuring device

In general, if you want something more than about 1% reproducibility, things start to me interesting.  Of course, it's what makes it fun to do.

If you go the road of the sound card, remember that while most modern computers have quite high resolution a/d (sometimes up to 24 bits at 96 kHz) converters, you must watch the noise figures to get what you can actually solve.  Off-board solutions (e.g., M - Audio Delta 44) will give you the best numbers of noise, since the ADCs are isolated from noisy inside your computer.

    Good luck and have fun.

  • Measure voltage across the thermistor outwardly excited

    Hello

I'm looking to collect temperature data by measuring the voltage on an input temperature of a piece of industrial equipment terminal. A thermistor is currently connected to a Terminal, and my USB-6212 analog input terminal is connected in parallel. The equipment must remain functional, so the thermistor can not be deleted.

The problem is the USB-6212 disrupts significantly far - for example, the temperature of the equipment reading spikes of 45degF at 60degF whenever the USB-6212 is connected. Using a multimeter Fluke does not cause the same problem. I tried to measure the input impedance analog for the USB-6212 with a Fluke 87 - III. I get out of the range (> 50 M Ohm) with the lit 6212 and ~ 12 M Ohm in judgment. It seems to meet the specifications and should be high enough to not to disturb the measurement. I do not know the side of the probe, but estimate it's about 20K ohm based on measures of tension DMM with and without parallel resistances.

Can anyone suggest a way to solve this problem, or another way of measuring? The main constraint is that the thermistor must remain in the terminal of the temperature.

    Thank you

    Leo

    Leo,

    It's only a guess, but a guess a little.

Two clues: not measured with a multimeter is no distuirb the result. Measure with the USB-6212 disrupts the result.

The DMM is probably battery powered and not connected to any reference to the ground. Certainly, the USB device is connected to the USB ground which in turn is connected to the mass of the computer.

My guess: a ground loop between the acquisition of data/USB/computer and industrial equipment. Unless the industrial equipment specifies that one end of the probe is grounded and the reasons for the equipment and the computer are connected to the same point of mass, it will be difficult to measure as you described.

    Things to try:

    1. with the help of the DMM measure the voltage (AC and DC) between each end of the probe and the mass of the equipment.

    2. with data acquisition/computer disconnected the measurement equipment (DMM), tensions between the computer or ground DAQ and the mass of the equipment.

    3. If all the voltages measured in 1 and 2 are in the specification of common mode for entry for the DAQ hardware voltages, then try a differential connection with polarization adapted ground resistances.

Do you have a technical manual or diagrams for Brad equipment?

It worked! Am so excited, I followed the instructions of the Mac, I pressed the Start button and the button operation at the same time and the magic took place, am so so excited. THANK YOU MAC!

Glad that your phone is working again.

What you were doing by pressing the button home and sleep for 10 seconds, until the Apple logo came back, is called "force restart '.

You won't lose data by doing this, but it can cure a few glitches. It is usually the last thing to try before you restore the phone to factory again or visit an Apple Retail Store or Apple authorized service provider, where your phone does not at all.

  • Can I synchronize compactDAQ and cards for the generation M Series DAQ waveform continues non-regenerating in RT

    Hello

I use a M Series DAQ card (6229) multichannel and multipoint make reading and writing of waveforms, all synced to a clock generated on the 6229.  Now I need to extend that to a "remote" (10 m) location and I was planning to use the Ethernet (9188 or 9184) CompactDAQ chassis or maybe 9144 Ethercat slave.  Before I have buy and learn the hard way, I thought I would ask some advice:

    My questions are:

    (1) using the DAQmx can I access the IO on 9184 or transparent 9144 using a multichannel multipoint DAQmx task as I do for the PCI 6299 card?

    (2) are all of these chassis supported if I use RT on the host?

    (3) is the best way to synchronize and trigger the remote system to the host using a digital line between the 6229 plug-in and the chassis from a distance, and if so, how can I connect it to the chassis and set it as a sample clock?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi AnthonV-

You make perfect sense.  And, I am pleased to report that you can program your analog output task CompactDAQ to use a clock timed by material, like your M Series device.  In fact, it is possible (and perhaps even likely) that the same code of OR-DAQmx you use for M-series can be used directly on CompactDAQ also long that the AO, relaxation and sources of timing and similar channels can be updated to point to your CompactDAQ chassis.

As I've mentioned before, please note that only the CompactDAQ USB chassis (except the cDAQ-9172) are compatible with the PharLap LabVIEW RT objectives.  I don't know if this will meet your needs for a > extension of 10 m from the host system.

  • Different values of Excitation in the same spot

    Hello

I am trying to acquire signals of pressure two sensors of pressure simultaneously using DAQ Assistant. I use an Ethernet NI DAQ with the NI 9237 Module chassis. One of the transducers requires a voltage of 10 vdc, while the other transducer requires 5 vdc excitation. I created a task DAQ Assistant with two channels (one for each transducer). When I run the VI, it returns the following error:

Error-200257 occurred to the DAQ Assistant

    Possible reasons:

Property of excitement must be the same for the related physical channels.

Refer to the documentation for more information on the definition of excitement through the related physical channels.

    Conflicting properties

    Property: AI. Excit.Src
    Value: Internal

    Property: AI. Excit.Val
    Value: 10.0

    Channel name: Pressure_1

It looks like using different excitations causing the problem. Can you please help me solve this problem in order to acquire simultaneous action of the two sensors and provide the necessary excitement for each of them.

    Aaron_W

Thank you for your response. Based on what you posted and I expected different values of excitement are at the origin of the problem. However, I am always looking for another solution instead of buying an additional module because it is quite expensive for a student like me.

  • Problem setting Legacy DAQ board using NOR-DAQ 6.1 for Labview

I know that the Board of Directors is an old legacy product not supported by NEITHER, however for a low-budget project, I have 3 of these AT-MIO-16 x cards and the need to use them.

I know I got this job in the past not distant os, however, for the life of me can't get things sorted and work.

You use a NT box, in which this configuration used to work... uninstalled and started fees for other reasons, and I can not get the NOR-DAQ 6.1 to support LAbview 6.1 or 7.1.

Of course, I understand the OR-DAQ 6.1 should be used for Labview 5 and older, but also know this has been successfully done in the past.

I downloaded all knowledge base articles dozed or both support and remember to use successfully the last time that I set up so I know not somehow it works.

My configuration is: AT-MIO-16 X to the bus combo board (called work)

    NT PC

    LabVIEW 6.1 or 7.1

NOR-DAQ 6.1 is the most recent to support this card.

However, it will not install its support to its latest versions of Labview and I get errors, crashing, or missing files, when I followed various circumvention of knowledge base solutions.

I was hoping that someone has a documentation somewhere how to handle this, because it really is a matrix of spaghetti.

I can get NOR-DAQ support files installed, and Configuration Manager works well, finds the map and allows its parameters to be defined.

But when I load the DAQ vi of any type, Labview accidents and the wizard of data acquisition channel does not work at all (no error).

    Thank you

Yes, the installation program from the folder of disks for NOR-DAQ 6.1 on the ftp site has worked well.

    Workaround. Thank you

  • Jump in the middle of an audio track streaming on various sites causes the stuttering and audio glitch

    Hello

Please refer to this thread for support on the technical support of SoundCloud forums. The thread contains all relevant information, including videos of the screenshots problem and console, made by myself and others. https://www.soundcloudcommunity.com/SoundCloud/topics/skipping-to-the-middle-of-a-track-causes-stuttering-and-glitchy-audio-chrome-Firefox

In short, when you try to move forward for streaming audio, there is a memory buffer/stuttering problem that prevents a correct reading of the track. This problem is confirmed on SoundCloud and Traxsource and other people in the support thread mentioned Mixcloud and other streaming sites. In other words, it is not the special streaming service fault or another.

The problem does not occur in Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer or Chrome. Well, to clarify, when the issue was published on SoundCloud support forums, Chrome was having the same problem. However, they made a version a few days ago thrust, that fixed it.

Here's my original on the SoundCloud support post (less), which has the relevant details. Note that we have updated both Flash and Firefox recently, so although I have mentioned earlier in my original post, everyone involved has since updated their browsers and Flash.

From now on, the only solution for the problem is to go back to Firefox 40.0.2. Thanks for any help =)

    Matt

    Original message =.

Jump in the middle of a track causes the stuttering and audio glitch (Firefox).

I am running Windows 10 Pro.

There seems to be a problem of caching that affect reading - I started noticing this problem three or four days ago. Previously, I could jump through my feeds at will, go straight until the middle of the tracks or mixes of listen seconds and determine if I liked the track. Now, I can't do it on Firefox 41.0.1. The problem is simply annoying on songs that are 3 or 4 minutes in length, as I must leave "cache" maybe ten seconds before jumping. Unfortunately, the problem is a game-breaker on mixtures which, for example, are 90 minutes long. If I jump to a point directly in the middle of the combination, nothing happens. The play button alternates between the 'Play' symbol and the symbol of 'Caching' ('... "), and so audio resumes, it is glitchy and consists of different parts of the track being played at the same time.

I've eliminated my internet connection as the source of the problem by loading on board. On the edge of 20.10240.16384, the problem does not exist. I can scroll down to any mix of 2 hours in my stream, click on the middle of it, and the audio starts right up. No caching, without stuttering or glitching.

I drove back Flash version 18 to see if it solved the problem in Firefox, but it did not. The problem persisted, so I re-updated to Flash 19.

Yes, I understand how all versions and updates to work. I meant it as a generation of powder magazine. My bad.

I consider this problem to be solved. Several different pre-release versions of Firefox have solved the problem; I have personally used both of them that work perfectly. A representative of Bugzilla stated that the patch will be integrated into Firefox 42, which will be released on 3 November.

You want to write the date and time in the photo?

You need to do it in an external editor.  Photos can't.

You can print the date and time and other legends on a Board-contact, however.  When you select a photo and then use the model of the "Contact Sheet", you can click the 'Captions' button and select the metadata to use as the legend on the contact sheet.

To write directly to the photo, you can use the Preview.app.
