exercise of the VM session timeout problem

Hello

First off all I want to thank all those who contribute on this post, I have a 5.0 vcenter and vmware view running 5 customer, the problem is that on my infrastructure vm´s of users sessions go on the time-out for the most part after 7 or 8 hours of active session is probably for security reasons , I want to turn off this option, but don t know where to find the settings for it on my vcenter, due anyone know how to disable this feature?

Best regards!

I am a beginner on vmware view, but I'm trying to help you.

Most common session is disconnected as a result the VMware View connection Server Session timeout.  This global setting disconnects the sessions after the time-out expires. The default setting is 600 minutes (10 hours).

To avoid these disconnects, educate users that there is an automatic session expiration time or increase the value of timeout in minutes via the view connection server > view Configuration > global settings and enter the time in the dialog box Session timeout.

Remember points of certification for responses 'useful' and / or 'correct '.

  • Increase the user Session timeout?

I don't see how to do this anywhere in the documentation.  It is so simple that no comment code in bold below and replace the value in the portal file - exe.properties or is it more than that?  Is there anyway to remove the timeout so it never disconnects users unless you close the browser?  I noticed something detached with that something false about a liferay portal, but there no air as it would result in EID.

    #jdbc.default.connectionCustomizerClassName = com.liferay.portal.dao.jdbc.pool.c3p0.PortalConnectionCustomizer

    # jdbc.default.idleConnectionTestPeriod = 60

    jdbc.default.maxIdleTime = 3600

    # jdbc.default.maxPoolSize = 100

    # jdbc.default.minPoolSize = 10

    # jdbc.default.numHelperThreads = 3

    #jdbc.default.transactionIsolation = 1

You would think that they would like to add this parameter in the settings of the frame page to make it easier...

Figured it out finally after some googling on Liferay (not oracle/eid)...

There are two files web.xml where there is a user timeout session variable.  You can update these xml files and recreate the tomcat service and it works.  I am sure that only the first file of questions that I had changed the other and the time-out is remained the same, but when I made the change to the first location of file to make them same and recreated the service it works finally.

  • in the APEX by clicking on the link hyper does not trigger session timeout page

    Hi all
I have a question about the application of APEX session time-out. I created a simple application of the APEX. In the region report SQL section, I have code like this:

    SELECT DOC_Name, DOC_URL,
    "" < a href = "" | DOC_URL | "target ="_blank"/" > download < /a > ' pdf_link
    FROM test_table
    where emp_number = 00010001

When the user click on the hyper link, it will show the landing page for the user (for example if DOC_URL = 'http://forums.oracle.com', it displays the oracle forum page in a new browser).

But the problem is that after the user session timeout (I set to 240 seconds through shared components > change the security attributes, I put max the session for example 240 seconds timeout) when I click on this hyperlink, it does not raise my session timeout page and it still shows the page (oracle forum page).

Why in the APEX by clicking on the link hyper does not trigger page session timeout after the user session timeout?

How implememt or fix to trigger the session timeout page after clicking on hyperlinks?

(BTW, our version of the APEX is 3.2)

    Thank you!

    Hello

rather than use your my_stored_procedure you could call a new APEX page where you have a page called P999_PDF_ID. On this new page you would have
treat a front header PL/SQL with the same code you have in your "my_stored_procedure". The only change would be to add a

    apex_application.g_unrecoverable_error := TRUE;

at the end of your code as well as APEX does not generate a standard page of APEX.

That's all. If a user clicks on a link, APEX will check the session timeout and if everything is ok, download your PDF file.

  • Session Timeout variables

    Hello

I'm having a problem with a timeout on my site.

We have upgraded to ColdFusion 8 in September and our application is usable only in Internet Explorer. After the upgrade we started to receive complaints of a timeout. It's not ' occur for each user and we cannot reproduce the problem. Our site after 30 minutes time, we let then the connection of the user clicking on a link and we define the variable session timeout on 'Y' to let us know that they are currently connected. They are then able to access the site but only for a single page. Once they click on any other page that they are returned to the page timeout.

I noticed that the CFID and CFToken change after what they consider a page, which suggests he's somehow the session. To solve the problem I ask the user to delete their cookies and temporary internet files of Internet Explorer. Once they do so they no longer see the problem.

I'd rather not have someone clear their cache. Has anyone seen this problem before? Any suggestions?

    I found a solution.

When I added setdomaincookies = "yes" to my in my Application.cfm a cfapplication tag worked! Yes!

  • OAM Session Timeout

    Hello
We use the OAM 10.1.4.1. The timeout of idle session in webgate is currently set to 60 minutes for our landing page. There is a web application protected by political OAM, who has 15-minute inactivity timeout. SSO to the present request for the destination of the user page. Once the user's session expires after the application, control is returned to the landing page. At this point, OAM expected 60 minutes the idle session timeout. time out of total session is 75 minutes instead of 60 minutes.
Is there a way to timeout the session in 60 minutes, including the timeout of the application?

I can't change the expiration time of the page landing because users who connect on the landing page and nothing should timeout after 60 minutes.

    Thanks in advance.

Well the Session Timeout is specific to a resource (in your case - Landing Page and the PPP) when the user is at the request the Session Timeout is 15 min but on inactivity you mentioned that the user is directed to the landing Page. Once the user on the destination page, the Session Timeout starts again and the user is set to 60 minutes. Impossible of two sessions of club and justify that the user has 75 minutes of time. Each session is unique in itself. If your condition specifies to create an active user for 60 minutes, you may need to adjust the total time you calculated.

  • The access admin VCS session timeouts

    Hello

I have asked me if there are VCS performance problems if the admin access session has the value zero, or, for example 30 minutes.

I know that this seems to be a stupid question because he absolutely should not affect the performance of VCS, however can someone please confirm this? In addition, the number of connected users admin will have a detrimental effect on the VCS? Once again, I guess not as the default is not limited, but confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Howard

    Hi Howard,.

As far as I know, the number of sessions of admin and admin session logout, does not affect the performance of VCS much. However, please keep in mind that it certainly affects the performance of VCS if the number of sessions admin VCS is superior > 5 as VCS responded to all the commands and requests by admin VCS sessions.

So, it is advisable to set the session timeout no matter what between 15-30 minutes, so VCS kicks on the sessions inactive admin and keep resources free VCS.

Hope that answers your questions.  Feel free to rate this response accordingly.

    Thank you

  • Related workflow in the dialog box / popup window and Session Timeout

    Hi team.

    Using JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.

We have several use cases that have linked the workflow shown in dialogues.  Dialogues are defined in the workflow.  The dialogues show very well related workflows.  However, if we have a session timeout, we are witnessing the login page that appears inside the window of dialogue instead of the home page.  Any suggestions out there?

I have the text on a command button, invoking the action of dialogue BTF.

useWindow = "true" windowModalityType = "applicationModal.

    Thank you

    BradW

Hello.  Digging into the issue, we had a requirement to force the user to the logon page when the session expires.  However, the Service of Dialogue rich ADF fires and wants to ask us if we want to save the changes or continue leaving the popup.  To work around this problem, we made a JS call, follow these steps:

    AdfAgent.AGENT.removeBubbleEventListener(AdfPage.PAGE.getDomWindow(),"beforeunload", AdfDhtmlRichDialogService._beforeUnloadHandler);

So, in summary, we had created a PagePhaseListener to inject some JS in every page to make a timer based client-side redirect.  However, the Service of RichDialogue ADF complain if there are changes in the pop-up window.  To work around this problem, the timer called the removeBubbleEventListener.

It works, I think it might be a bit fragile between versions.

  • Why need Session timeout with the public user for public portal?

    Hi all

I use WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 and I found that with the user public space WebCenter show still expire page and redirect them to the login page. I did not understand why Oracle do? If Oracle cannot remove the public user session timeout, but they must not give this event for public user. The end user, they don't care in this respect, it just feel discomfortable.

I really want a solution for this problem of Oracle. If the session is out of time, they only auto refresh page when the user doing anything on the new page (exp: moving the mouse, the key... event event) and the user will never know on this subject.

You have an idea about this?

    Thank you!

    Hello.

The patch allows just to use in file configuration web.xml depending the context-param:

         oracle.adf.view.rich.sessionHandling.WARNING_BEFORE_TIMEOUT
         0

This feature is STANDARD in newer versions.

He added the Web.XML WebCenter Portal (spaces).

I recommend that you add by using the project of PortalExtension instead of change manyally web.xml because when you apply patches manually changes in the web.xml file are lost.

  • Catch the event Web Service Session Timeout

    Hi all

I have a LV Web Service communicate to a web client (Chrome, IE, FF, etc.).  The user connects to the server and create a new session for him to help create Session VI.  One of the entrances to this function is a timeout value (default 60000ms).  The sessions behavior is such that if the user does not activate an application for web service (GET/POST/PUT/etc) within the time limit, then the session is automatically destroyed by the web service.  That's what I want, it's fantastic.

My question is How can I detect when the session timeout happens? Another way to say, How can I detect when the user session is automatically destroyed?

    What I tried:

    • Of course, I can provide a "logout" link to the user calling ultimately "Destroy Session" VI, but I can't count on the user actually click this link (e.g. you really explicitly sign out of gmail or simply close your web browser?)
    • I thought that the only way to proceed would be to save the cookie of session ID returned by create Session VI and then query this ID to see if the session still exists (check if Session exists VI).  If the session does not exist, well, I know it has expired or the user manually destroyed it.  However, even if I save the cookie ID, I don't see where I can actually use it any where (especially not check if Session is VI). It just seems no value given to the range of sessions.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you

    Rory

Sorry, Thomas, but that isn't going to work.  Think about it - you do not request a web service during the time-out period. You get ONLY a web service request when the client actually asked something.  The customer does not have during a timeout; It's just times out... so, there is no node on the block diagram to check because there is no block diagram... get it?

No worries, however, I found the solution [read: workaround], even if the LV can do it (from 2013sp1).

The best way to detect if a user session times out / out times would be for LV to this exhibit as an event in the web service. The following approach would be for LV accepts a cookie as an entry ID and then provides information on this session (i.e. the session exists).  I have a smell of two feature requests...

But because BT cannot do these things (or not exposed to the developer), you will need to get creative on the client side.  Since I'm on Javascript/jQuery/AJAX on my front end, then it is possible for me to detect when the customer leaves the page or close the browser.  It comes to $(window) .unload () in jQuery.  Then, I can take this event and an asynchronous AJAX command of fire to one of my web service VI that will eventually call the "destroy Session" VI.

I would like to know what is the right place/method to set a deadline.

For java web applications, you can set the session timeout in the web.xml file. (this is the global settings associated with all sessions)

If you wish, you can set the timeout of session by program (and this is related only to the current http session).

If possible I would like that when the timeout checks, the application performs a redirect to a page I like (for example the login page).
