Experiences with CAD for beginners

I wonder if there is a suite of applications that allow an artist to create renderings of CAD of ideas. I'm not interested by AutoDesk software, as it is much too complicated for me. I am not classically trained in architecture or engineering, and I want more of a suite of intuitive design that includes features such as dimensions, 3D renderings and easy creation of line/intersection.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

any CAD/3D system will take time and practice.

Almost all will require them hours of training tutorial or a formal training, most if not all them NOT can be learned by opening the application by clicking on it to see what does what, because it requires work to be done in stages.

Almost all will be run on systems without a lot of power but as you move forward and start to work with more complex these projects will tax your system to its limits, it may be the single most intensive effort resources that you can continue with a computer

In many cases, to power the RAM and CPU than necessary for complex calculations, the requirements of GPU intensive games you would expect from a workstation.

Google Sketchup, possibly the most common 3D application for people starting out, massive support on the web, perhaps more than Blender

DAZ Allen (does not work on Macs recent, old and limited, but easy to learn if you can get to run and it $10)

Blender (free, but can be complicated, the interface requires tutorials there is no way around it, but the application as a capable as something from Autodesk)

Silo (popular with Mac users who want something simple but effective, $ 100.00)

  • A program of Photoshop for beginners help with things and advertising brochures

What would be a good program of Photoshop for beginners help with things and advertising brochures

' Advertising brochures and things ' seems to imply elements that will be printed on both sides of a piece of paper or make multipage documents.

Photoshop is an image editor and can have only 1 page per document.

In short, Photoshop is the application bad for something more than a single item from the front.

Adobe InDesign is a page layout program that is specifically designed to create multipage documents.

You can type or place text, photos of the place and the other images and have better control over the placement and arrangement of the elements on the page.

InDesign, like Photoshop, Illustrator has a steep learning curve.

You can download Adobe trial versions (these will only work for 30 days) and raise you some books or sign for video lessons on Lynda.com

  • for beginners, better start from zero or model? help please

so I've learned dreamweaver cs4 and fireworks etc for a few months now watch lynda.com tutorials and other things. I'm a construction site (or try) to sell mixers online. Progress seem to slow down, guys recommend using these models, you can get free or pay? If so, is it worth paying for? Thank you!

Hi, I have a certain experience, building a site of electronic commerce as a beginner, but it is not clear if that is your real goal or not what you'e says.

Even for a regular site without electronic commerce (e-commerce, I mean having a credit card shopping cart and taking orders online via your site, etc.), always things for me as in a fog - and slowly over time, the fog clears and I can see what is happening. So hang in there.

Whatever it is, I advise to use a model, but it means different things, in function.  In Dreamweaver, you have CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) available models from which to choose, which are a good starting point. Recently, I used one to turn my site into CSS and leave the use of the tables behind.

As a beginner, would do you well to begin to learn the construction of Web sites using CSS right from the start. It would be a huge advantage for you. In DW, in your first Panel under the column "create new", descend to the bottom and click on the folder 'more '. That will take you to all the available models. There, choose "Blank template" and "Html", then a specific model.

I would like to choose a model that is "fixed", which means that the width of the construction is specifically defined in pixels, as a 2 column fixed left sidebar with "."

I heard that that fixed CSS templates (etc vs. liquid) are easier for beginners to work with.

IF you go to an e-commerce site, I would recommend using storefront software, which gives you very good models to use - and their software works as a DW Plugin, which means it fits in the DW interface and making it easier to use. Its software allows you to insert a shopping cart interface shopping and what is e-commerce-driven in your site.

It is a fairly expensive software, but it is also a very positive alternative for beginners in e-commerce. In addition, their models are very respectful of the designer they give the user a lot of room design to customize the look of their site.

As a beginner, I must warn you - to have an e-commerce site, online site is difficult and it takes a sizeable presence for it work, which means a lot of stamina and a good number of products to sell.

in any case, I hope I helped... Good luck

    Hello

Anyone has any experience with Win10 update for this model? Given many discussions here and my own experiences with update and wireless network card disconnected after (the reset default values to use again), I'm a little worried about the update.

It was a month ago, so the two sides (Toshiba/MS) had time to provide updates of patches & drivers. So, I'm curious - is the update secure now? All things work out of the box (WLAN, camera) etc. ?

    Hello.

I've updated WT8 my wife a week with no problems at all.

Take note, however, it takes a LOT of time. Set aside the best part of the day.

That's what I did on the advice from my research.

    Plug your tablet in socket.
Check Windows update for new updates and install them. It is the same for all the other programs that you favor.
Uninstall all malicious programs you may have installed (compatibility issues)

I also disabled my anti virus program.

A scope of hand a 8gig USB if you want to create the boot USB installation.
You don't need to do it immediately as you can do it at a later date.

During the upgrade, you will be asked if you want to upgrade this computer or do a clean install. I chose the update this computer and transfer my settings (or words to that effect).

If you want to take the path of own tinstallation, you must first upgrade your operating system current version OS 10 and then when this has been done you need to go through the entire procedure using the boot USB that you created earlier or to creat now.

The main thing to remember is to be patient, very patient, as the upgrade almost takes care of it's self. Read all the instructions carefully before you click.

The keyboard that you should select if requested we international. I inadvertently clicked on something else and more later found that some keys on my keyboard had the mind of their own, I got that without too much trouble

Go for it, I think you'll like the new OS 10. The only downside for the new OS, it's that you may incounter problems driver with installed programs. I think I can live with the Kindle.

I hope it is of some

  • In a wreath of two screens Thunderbolt, I could replace the first display with a (for example) 2012 iMac and use target Display Mode to power the two?

My Thunderbolt screens have the possibility to be connected in Garland and get their signal on a single cable Thunderbolt, an iMac in target Display Mode should not also have this capability? Is an iMac in target Display Mode capable of simulating a Thunderbolt Display not only to get a video for himself but also for a Thunderbolt Display is connected?

I've heard tell that some people used their iMac screen target with the target Display Mode while the iMac has been connected to another monitor (not a Thunderbolt Display).

The result was that internal display of the iMac switched on the target Display Mode, but doesn't have the monitor connected.

I haven't found someone who has tried this and published his experience with a Thunderbolt Display connected to the iMac.

Unfortunately, a little more research would have responded and answered my question.

Yes, I can replace one of the Thunderbolt screens in the chain with an iMac. Replaced screen should be one that is not directly connected to the mac of the source.

  • Experience with the service coverage in Bulgaria

    Hello

I am one of the sysadmins of a large international company, which has offices in Sofia. Bulgaria.
I would like to share my experience with the Toshiba products and service coverage in Bulgaria.

Months ago, we bought an external USB hard drive - STORE. E PARTNER 2.5 500 GB USB 3.0 P/N PA427E-1HE0. After you have deployed the HARD drive, I noticed that the computer constantly loses / restores the connection to the external drive.

As I have suggested that the cable is not inserted properly, I just pulled the cable to the USB connector to check that it fits fully into the socket. To my surprise the just USB connector broke and fell inside the HARD drive chassis. In my opinion, this is a factory default, a badly welded connector.

We talked to the service allowed in Bulgaria: STEMO and they sent the disc with a protocol that it is a physical damage that violates the terms of warranty service.
I can't imagine a way to prove in this case that we have not jumped on this HARD drive and that's the way it came from the box... We went to buy Hitachi after this case, and I can say that we had not a single complaint of users or technical staff.

I would like to say that it was really a bad surprise for me that a multinational company could offer this customer service the poor in Bulgaria, especially given a STEMO dealer who are so famous here for their complete lack of quality of service and poor standards.

This will avoid for sure choose me no matter what other Toshiba products in the future.
    Thank you.

Sorry to hear about this. It is very unfortunate to have such an experience with the authorized service provider but I n t think that such a negative experience such influence negative on you.
One issue doesn't mean Toshiba products are bad.

You know very well that Toshiba is one of the largest companies for HER and material production in general. A few production errors can happen to anyone.

Problem is that many people don t care much material and very often some hardware components can be damaged very easily. Can you imagine how much money Toshiba or any other hardware manufacturer will fix these issues where everybody says it's lack of production?

On a path, I can understand you, but otherwise I can understand Toshiba to be skeptical about these mechanical defects. You as an expert in computer SCIENCE know these issues. Can you imagine how you will react when you give your new notebook your co-worker and a few weeks later it brings you with broken keyboard? I don t think you will accept his argument on construction of bad keyboard.

You know that's not easy to discuss these issues.
In any case, thank you for your ad. This forum is the right place where people can exchange experiences and opinions.

    Good luck

  • My disappointing experiences with the iPhone 6

After 11 months of owning an iPhone of 128GB 6 + the screen started to flicker, a gray bar would flash at the top of the screen and the touch screen has been insensitive.  This was due at random intervals.  I restarted the phone and the problem persisted.  I backed up my data and reset the phone like new.   The problem persisted.  I had my first appointment at the Genius Bar. He went a lot; I was leaving in 15 minutes with a new phone (my first replacement).

I came home and restored my backup, and after a day, the problem came immediately.  Again, I have reset the phone again, and the problem persisted.  I did another (second) meeting with the Genius Bar (four days after the first).  My genius was excellent.  He had seen that problem before; He showed me that if he put a little pressure on the phone, the screen will become sensitive while he kept up the pressure. He took the phone and showed some of the other Geniuse the problem and how do I get the screen to become sensitive.  He assured so was completely related material and I was just out of luck and that it had nothing to do with my backup.  He asked me to contact Apple, since it is a problem he could see quite often with these phones.  In the end, I got another new phone (my second replacement).

Once I got home I restored my backup once more.  And yet once again, the problem came back.  At this point, I was getting angry.  I have two young children (under 3) to home and make those appointments around their program is difficult.  Back to the apple store! This time, it was a little harder to get a solution. Engineering had to obtain the approval of the Manager and then he could not find the replacement phones and all the experience took a lot more time then my two previous trips.  In the end, I got another new phone (my third replacement).

Yet once, I asked if this might be the result of my backup, and even once, I was told no.  I expressed that it becomes ridiculous and controlling common only I see is the backup. He suggested trying the phone for a few weeks without food and restaurant then. I never restored and just started over again.  The phone has been flawless until today, it lasted 38 days.

The problem came out of the blue.  I have not installed anything new, nothing extraordinary happens today.  The screen started to Flash, returned the gray bar, and the screen becomes unresponsive.  The first Genius Bar appointment I can do is in 2 days.

In short, in the space of 10 days, I've had four different iPhone + 6s fail in exactly the same way.  My family uses exclusively apple devices.  I had an iPhone 3s, 4S and now 6 +.  My wife had iPhone 3, 5 and 6.  We have all two Ipads and I an Apple Watch for Christmas.  We have had excellent experience with our devices.  I am more unhappy with the iPhone + 6s.  I have about a year left before I can go again, so I'm stuck with what is becoming a useless device.

I have seen others with the same issues, but no solution is permanent.  This issue should be fixed.  I'm afraid that my next replacement will last 90 days and then I will be paying $329 for a replacement which is likely to fail again.

What is your technical support question that we, your fellow users can answer?

  • Does anyone have experiences with Windows Vista on a Satellite M40-129?

    Hello
does anyone have experiences with Windows Vista (Business) on an M40-129? Any suggestions on the proper drivers and advice are welcome.

    Best regards
    Sascha

    Hello

I have an owner of the M40 motorway m but I didn t install Vista on my laptop.
Why? good Vista needs a lot more material resources like the XP.
In addition many additional applications that are running on my system are not compatible with Vista.
Last but not lease I didn t find the drivers of Toshiba for the M40 on the Web site.

I think that the drivers Vista missing on the page is not a problem serious because important factors as driver graph, sound driver, lan and Wlan driver can be downloaded from the website of chip manufacturing.

Anyway, if you want to install Vista on your M40 I would create an additional partition and install the OS on the second partition.
In this case, you can use the two BONES; XP and Vista.

To my knowledge the Vista installs a clean boot manager and it should be very easy to switch between XP and Vista.

    Best regards

    Good bye

  • My experience with Satellite U300 after zapping Vista

    Hi all

New to the forum but I would like to share my re-love of my laptop computer with you all.

First of all, I'm a big fan of Toshiba.

My wife has one and after several bad experiences with cheap laptop, I decided to splash out on a Qosmio, a few years ago. Absolutely brilliant. Very well build / design feature.

However as I started to travel it has proved difficult to wear so I decided to buy a Toshiba Satellite U300. Look at the business, very good for the price.

Only slight downside is feeling a little low cost keyboard, but other that it looked all good.

Then I pulled up and all the problems started.

    1 slow at startup.
2 would often freeze after the connection.
    3. slow to do anything whatsoever under Vista.
    4. install a 3 G modem that constantly froze.
    5. connection to a local network could cause it to freeze.
    6. constant blue screen of death.

He referred to John Lewis and got a replacement.
It was slightly better but still frozen a lot!

I was very frustrated because I had ZERO problems with my Qosmio.

I decided to skip Vista and see if my WinXP SP2 makes a difference, or if it was a hardware problem...

Put XP on has proven difficult as the drive not recognized Toshiba help would have been appreciated on this but has managed to translate the Spanish site in forums and installed.

    WOW

    * What difference is not only my portable stable but it is fast! * do not play fast, but I can do most things with very little lag.

    * Large notebook * Toshiba Vista is more about it... Would have liked an option but the laptop with XP not Vista...

Thanks for these useful information about you experience.
I can confirm this too. The Vista operating system needs a lot of material resources as first OS it is XP.
This is why all computers run slower with Vista as with XP but I think that it is nothing exceptional, due to the fact that Vista supports new features such as Aero, new photo and video files, Direct10X, etc.

    Greetings

  • Some info about my experiences with Toshiba Bluetooth stack - works fine

    Hej,

I just want to put a few experiences with new Toshiba-stack and Vista.

First, I had to use the MS stack, because of my mobile (Nokia) and its PC Suite and the mouse (Logitech v270). Two applications were not working with the Toshiba Stack. Now with the new battery and the new PC-Suite, it works great under Vista. In addition, I decide to remove Logitech SetPoint (still no support for the Toshiba Stack) because my mouse has actually no special buttons and a built-in battery indicator, so there is no real need to a set value.

Yesterday I bought a Nokia HS-12W and I am impressed. Works like a charm with the Toshiba stack and the sound is just amazing... Can even control the mediaplayer in the helmet. This a custom works with the MS stack. This is why I took a glance at the Toshiba stack- and was surprised.

Hope could help a bit with my impressions!

    Welcome them
    Snipe of the marshes

    Hi Enrico

    Thanks much for this information.
I m not an expert of Bluetooth, but it of very nice to know that this battery has been improved and works better than the early versions.

    Best regards ;)

  • Bad experience with Lenovo.

    Hello world

I would like to share with you my bad experience with lenovo. I bought S10 2 weeks. Since the first day, it has not worked right. In the middle of my work it rebooted by itself and took a lot of time (20-30 min) to open XP when I turned it on. Then, I decided to restore the system with the OneKey Recovery button, but I couldn't activate the laptop after that at all. After that, I called technical support and explain my problem. They advised me to call lenovo sales and ask to replace the system. I followed the advice and call them and the representative told me that I have to send the laptop to the technical support group and they try first to solve this problem, if they would not be able to fix then I would send a new, and it would take at least 2 weeks to understand what is wrong with the system. I was indignant at this topic and he told me that if I want a new right now that I have to pay 15% bonus. Can you imagine that? Then I called the technical support group and we did some tests together and it did not work. After that, they still suggest to call lenovo sales to replace this laptop. Finally, sales representative decided to replace my laptop faulty by a new one. He arranged the pick UPS faulty laptop and created the order for the new system. Later the same day, I found that they charged me twice for the laptop. This means that I have a defective S10 only laptop, but have paid in full for two laptops. Today is the second day, and nobody came to the inverter to take the defective laptop. I called them and I was wondering why no one pick up the laptop. The answer was: no one does not organize the UPS pick up. This is Lenovo service! I've never seen this kind of service. It's terrible! I asked to connect with the Manager, but the Manager was very busy and I left the request to remember. I lose 4-5 hours of my time to explain my problem and request a replacement. Whenever they transferred my call to various departments, I had to wait 20-25 min. technical support is very good, they are very helpful and polite. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for lenovo sales representatives. It was my first lenovo and I'm sure that the last of them. Would not recommend to anyone to buy it. The service is horrible!

I hope that, ultimately, the faulty laptop is picked up tomorrow. I am thinking to return it and get my money back if they don't send me not the new Friday, as they promised.

Thanks for sharing your experience here!

I received my S10 new and very satisfied. This works perfectly. Finally, I got what I wanted.

I did from my first experience with Lenovo: If you have a problem with Lenovo products you should call and talk with officials. It is best to talk with several representatives, because not every representative has correct information. If the representatives are not useful, you have to speak to the supervisor or Manager. In addition, post your case in this forum. I suspect that some manager Lenovo check this forum. My problem has been resolved as soon as I posted my experience here.

The IBM product portable grand, but I wish they hire more agents for sale or magazine somehow their service.

    Marry Christmas

  • Camera for beginners? I have looked at the T6i, but I have no idea as to what I should buy. Help?

I'm a dummy when it comes to photography. I have 6 children who play sports and have paid a hundred dollars over the years for action shots. My husband suggested I get my own camera and take some pictures. I would like to use the camera to take to many pictures of my kids playing sports. It's football season and I have 2 players to varsity in high school, 2 Peewee players and a leader. I'm sitting up in the bleachers around the 40-50 line yard (I feel like I can see also the two sense here) and I was about 50 yards away (give or take a bit of) the actual field. Kickoff is 07:30 here in Texas, and it is very close to sunset the Sun. When night falls, the lights of the Stadium are on like any other football game Friday night you can imagine. I want to know what the camera is a good camera for beginners. I have reflected on the T6 and the T6i, but I have no idea of what is the difference. They both come with a bundle, objective 18-55mm and 75-300mm EF. What is the difference between a DSLR and SLR? I need just broken down into language clear so that I can make a good choice. Which would you choose and why?

More mm, the highest magnification of the image that you will become.  The answers will vary widely depending on who you ask but to keep it really simple (at the risk of being wrong technically)... think of the magnification of the picture that you would get with binoculars in terms of x... I would use 50mm as the basis... which is 1 X.  So 18 mm divided by 50mm will give you 0.36 X and 55mm would give you 1.1 X and 300mm will give you 6 X.  To complicate matters, the size of the camera sensor, the final image is further expanded.  For example the T6/T6i (a cropped sensor device) will give you another 1.6 X magnification compared to a 5 d Mark III camera (a full frame).  The numbers aren't important, rather the idea... a number greater than 1 gives you more magnification - bringing the object more closer to you.

For digital SLR cameras (full frame), 50mm is normally considered to be 1 X - less than 50mm focal length, we call this wide-angle (lenses).  For FL 50mm more, we call this telephoto lens photo (lenses).
