  So I was pretty excited when I had just purchased a new Linksys AC2400 WIRELESS router because it would be a huge upgrade for me from the router D - Link DIR-615 cheap I had before.   So I say Linksys, please remove this unnecessary limitations (disabling the page config. when the service DHCP disabled and if possible also remove the deactivation of value-added functions (printer/storage, sharing, etc.) when the DHCP service is disabled). You will not be able to correct them before my product back from the ends of the window, but if solve you this problem, I will look into your routers the next time I have to buy a new.

  I solved the problem, fortunately. What is happening is that the linksys IP was on a different subnet that the ISP router assigned to the local network. Router of the ISP gave the address of 192.168.0.X subnet LAN but the Linksys is the 192.168.1.X subnet so anything on the network can access it. By changing the IP Address of the linksys to something in the 192.168.0.X subnet router I can access its configuration page now and all the features of "premium" of the router as the printer / hard drive/media sharing now work!

  I had to do a lot of testing with my older router and ISP router to discover the problem. It was later that I learned the technical explanation of what was going on after looking upward.

The guide mentions changing the fourth byte of the "secondary" router IP (eg. the '1' in the 192.168.0. 1) so that they are different to the 'main' and 'secondary' routers, but it says nothing about the second router (eg. 192.168.0 in 192.168.0.1) IP subnet which must be the local network of the "main/primary" router subnet

  Long story short, the official guide for Linksys I linked somewhere above does not cover a particular case when certain brands/models of router combinations are used and will not work in these cases. The guide should be updated so that the subnet of the IP address of the router being cascade is the same as that of the main router's LAN.

  So, I'm sorry Linksys to say something that was wrong on your products. Your routers do not hell their configuration Web page when their DHCP is disabled or when mount you them cascading, but the guide to http://www.linksys.com/ca/support-article?articleNum=132275 does not correctly handle routers whose default subnets are different.

  Hey all -

  I have a couple slight 1142 AP I need preparation and we tried to comfort them. but all I get is out starter and standard messages do not have connectivity controller.  I see the messages 'Press RETURN to start' and "CLI engaged", etc...  But none of my entry registration is underway.  I can not get a command prompt. I tried factory reset on the unit to make sure that any previous config has been removed - still no luck.

  The same cable of the console was used to connect to other Cisco devices and worked properly.  These AP is powered by PoE switch, and I've never had problems using the console on these units before. I tried different settings to control flow and speed settings on my break also tried sequences terminal for due diligence--once again, still no luck.  Any ideas or similar experiences out there?

  Make sure that you have disabled on your flow control terminal emulation program.  Most of the Cisco devices do not what it is, but wireless equipment will only answer if it is disabled.  You'll see the output of the PA, but it does not accept your comments if you have any kind of active flow control.

  Well, you have a lightweight access point that should work with a wireless controller. right?

  This can be reset to the default values by using the mode button.

  The steps required are (quoting Leo link above):

  Step 7 Disconnect power from the access point.
  Step 8 Press and hold MODE while you reconnect power to the access point.
  Step 9 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds) and then release.
  

  You can forget the other steps. These three steps are the only steps to reset your light AP to the default values.

  But why you want to reset the default access point? If you are connecting to a controller of the new image and config is automatically downloaded from the controller.

  If you think that what you have is a standalone AP, then no, it isn't. This one is a lightweigt AP. So if you want to convert standalone/standalone AP follow this link:

  I wonder if someone can help send me in the right direction to diagnose the following problem?

  We have two sites on a single controller of a WISN blade and both sites use 1142 AP.

  In recent days, the two sites have reported the Wireless does not. The check on the controller and the WCS network reports as being fine, with all appear and even WCS reports power radio etc.

  However, on the spot, in one instance a complete hotel and the second being an entire floor of a Halls of Residence, there is no sign of wireless network. Not one single SSID (we have 2) is broadcast and same Airmagnet Survey Pro tool is unable to detect any wireless activity.

  We have been very intrigued by this and finally solved the problem by recycling PoE interfaces on switches on board, causing a reboot of the AP, on which the SSID has begun to be rebroadcast.

  The error means apparently: this error message is generated by the towers on the network when a substitution of wlan is configured for a wlan, but this particular wlan is not advertised through the LAP.

  We do not configure override WLAN so I don't know why we're gettting this error... If someone can enlighten us?

  I have a strange behavior on my standalone 1142, it's been 2 days now. No clients can connect to this topic.

  The config has been reset 5 times already, even tried with 3 different versions of IOS and still nothing.

  I put this up ever since a few years back now and it worked perfectly.

  3 days ago, I changed the PSK, it worked fine for one day and then it happened.

  I get the authentication failure of all devices that tried to connect to this topic, I even changed the configuration with no authentication, radio stations are open, the two SSID with no guarantee whatsoever, and even with no encryption I can't connect on it.

  Really strange, I was setting up Cisco AP for many years and now I have a black out... I don't know I'm missing something, I can't understand what it is...

  Any help about it please?

  Crypto ipsec transform-set strong esp - aes esp-sha-hmac

  Crypto ipsec profile support

  define the transform-set

  then, under the tunnel interface, I apply the following command:

  protection profile medium ipsec tunnel

  With this config the first tunnel between the hub and the spokes 1 arrives without problems, but the router speaks 2 will never establish a tunnel.

  What I discovered is if I change this command on all three routers all tunnels are up and everything works but why?

  The keyword "no x-auth" says the router not try extended authentication for VPN tunnels.
