  • Could not get the internet/wireless connection after you installed new hard drive?

I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (dv6736nr), Windows Vista laptop.  The hard drive crashed and I got a new installed.   I set up my wireless connection, even that is on the other 4 computers in this building (my desktop computer running win7 netbook win7 running 2 computers of the landlord, winVista running - they have comcast modem,? a good router) when I set up the wireless connection, it connects only 'local', no internet.  I researched this some, tried all the places with a parameter that can be a problem, but nothing helped.  What the hell did I miss?  The connection is good because it works on my desk, on which I write, as I said. To my knowledge, the hard disk the the wireless are not connected; or is it? Any help, the concrete steps that I take on my laptop, the settings themselves, would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello:

If your laptop computer is the Atheros wireless card, you probably just update the driver.

The symptoms you listed seem to indicate that is the problem.

  • my laptop (running xp) has lost the ability to connect to wireless. I can't find anything in "network connections" and have lost the icon wireless from the taskbar.

I have a home wireless modem, and before that, it was working fine.

    Rufnek salvation,

Thanks for posting. First, check your computer and see if there is a switch wireless on this subject. Many times there is a switch on the PC to activate the wireless market. If your PC lacks such a change go to the website of OEM and reinstalling the latest drivers for your PC wireless.

  • Office to the router wireless connection is laborious on startup

I use Vista Home Premium (64-bit version), and I connect to a router through Wireless N adapter Netgear.  When I start up, I get a connection to local network only, but not the kind to the Internet.  By default, get connection VirtualProfile from Microsoft.  To connect to the Internet, I have to go to network and sharing Center, click on the yellow line between the workstation and the multiple networks or the Internet for a diagnosis, who then told me to re - enter the password for my SSID, after which I get connected to the Internet.

I have another office to another place with exactly the same configuration of Windows / wireless.  Here, however, I can go to Start\Connect To highlight my SSID and connect.  (The computer still does not connect to the Internet automatically when I boot up.)   In the example in the previous paragraph, my SSID not even appears among the list of available networks when I followed this route from Start\Connect to.  I am automatically connected to VirtualProfile (local only).

I spoke with Netgear, and of course they say that it is a problem of Microsoft/Windows 64 - bit.  My apologies, if this is not the appropriate forum, in this case maybe someone could direct me to the right location.  Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

The VirtualProfile is something that the Netgear software implements. This seems to be a not uncommon problem. There are solutions that have worked for some people in this thread. http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-networking/wireless-network-virtual-profile/071dd623-c741-4CD2-AD7A-39472c6e3183

The answer seems to be to not install the Netgear software outside the pilot.

  • Wireless connection dropping on the Satellite C660-195

    Hello

I recently bought a new Toshiba Satellite C660-195.
However, I have problems with the wireless connection. When I bought the laptop, it was full of all the annoying and resource hungry programs Toshiba install there. I have reinstalled Windows on the laptop, just install the drivers and software, I wanted and needed. I have problems with the wireless to stay connected. I can detect wireless networks and connect to that I want to be on, I have to add is a connection at home (I'm not fly: P).

However, the continuous wireless connection down, becoming 'limited' as it says in system tray icon but then turns back on and the process just keeps spiraling on, on and off.

The wireless I connect works quite well using Xbox consoles, at first I thought it might be the router but after that a second thought if found the wireless on the Xbox is fine then I surely can't be the case? The laptop is Windows 7 64 bit

    Thank you

  • I connect through IE 8.0. Firefox will not connect. The icon of waiting rolls and rolls until the screen saver is used. Is it my computer? My cable internet connection? Firefox?

I'm going to use IE 8.0 to write this. Although it is slower than usual, at least it connects. Since Firefox updated to v10.0.2; It connects, even at my homepage. The icon of connection (such as the hourglass in Windows); It just rolls and rolls. It's never connects or logs at a time or later (at best). The screensaver comes into play due to inactivity, even if it tries to connect. Is it my computer (I know I need more RAM)? What is my internet connection cable (I already called the provider and set up a tech visit). Or does this version of Firefox?

Who did it! Restored default on McAfee I.S. and restarted. Right this time. If this happens again, I will remember what to do. Thank you!

According to the description, you have problems with validation of identity.

    1. were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?

    3. What is the exact error related to the validation of identity?

  • After new wifi card no wireless connection

Hi, can all-in-one help me on this problem?

in my tecra M 745 due youcef change a broken wifi card: the new material appears to be installed correctly, but when I return the laptop wireless connection has been configured in windows with a maximum range of 11 MB/s (a ' b') and keepes fall all the time (notmally 54 mb/s)
When I want to set up using intel proset software, as I did before the repair (worked great), the program was empty, but the software was still in 'software': the helpdesk here said when the material is allright their work is done. they can set up but cost me a 100 euros/hour
So, what went wrong? I think that the driver is correctly installed but intel proset does not work, why?
    should I update intel proset?
    Thanks in advance
    Dr. Weekx

    Hello Dr.

If the wireless card is a new and correctly recognized and installed there not any problem at all. If there is a problem with the feature, it can be simply false connection configuration. Please don t be crazy about me, but installation and configuration of the Wi - Fi connection are two separate jobs. If you check the service for other stuff every step must be paid separately.

As you know, the wireless connection can be configured using parameters of Windows or by a customer (in your case Intel one). If you want to use the software Intel configuration of Windows MUST be disabled.

It will be nice that you give us a description of the good model laptop. Sorry, but Tecra M 745 is unclear to me. As far as I know, this is the processor identification and this processor is built in many models of different laptops.

    Good bye

  • Tecra M5: Wireless connection is no longer working

I have a new Toshiba Tecra M5. I originally put in place to connect to my WAP Home/office with no problems. After using it in a place where no WAP was available and making the home, wireless connection"is not available" and I can't do so.

Additional information: I have two other systems connected to my WAP without any problem. I can connect the Toshiba to my home LAN via a cable without problems. I already rebooted the latest drivers and tried to re-establish a wireless connection completely new, without success.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Looks you used Notepad in 2 different WLANs.
In my opinion, you should refresh the connection.
Go to the properties of WLan, and select the wireless networks tab.

Here, you can set the home WLAN on the preferred networks. This should be done if you have configured your WLan network as invisible. Also use the option View Wireless networks.
If your home WLan is not in the list, then you need to add the SID of WLan.

Usually the WAP encryption password must be redefined

  • my computer has two network icons, 1394 and con LAN. Either, especially the icon of LAN began to move to items being passed in the system tray when I start the computer.

I have a new and strange behavior on my computer. Until recently, the two icons, 1394 connection and LAN icons always used to appear in the whole system tray after the computer has been started. Is no longer the case. Whenever I start the computer, I don't see the icon of LAN but discover that it attributed to items passed. Then I open the properties of the network connection, uncheck 'Show the icon in the system tray', click Apply + OK, then I open the properties, check the box again, click Apply + OK; only the LAN icon is displayed in the system tray. I'd appreciate any help with this problem. The situation is sometimes the reverse case, i.e., LAN icon appears in the system tray, but I find the icon to connect 1394 points ago. I put the properties in the Start Menu, the toolbar always showed.

    Hi ErhanKarabekir,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

Refer to the article below and try the steps mentioned, check if it helps.

How to troubleshoot missing network connections icons in Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/825826

    Method 2

If the previous step fails to them it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

  • E3000 loser on multiple devices wireless connectivity

Problem with router Linksys E3000 (firmware 1.0.02). I have problems with the following wireless connections:

    iPhone 4G (female)

    iPod Touch 2 G

PC with Wi - Fi (adapter brand Linksys no)

NetBook Acer (not Linksys adapter brand)

It comes from the connection is interrupted and dropped, but the devices and the router DHCP clients table indicate that connections are always present. By interruption, I mean that no data traffic is transmitted.

IPhone 4 G to the my iPod Touch Wi - Fi my son and wife show that they are connected to the network home, with WiFi bars displayed, and the check mark is present next to the home network connection in the device for both settings. When I check the table of DHCP E3000 customers, two Apple devices are listed as with a connection. Yet the two devices to display network errors when you try to use any application that connects to the internet. By raising the wifi on each connection, the connection is restored to the point where traffic passes now. My wife and son believe it's after 10 minutes they encounter interruptions.

On the PC and NetBook, connections must be terminated and reconnected. I've not timed to see how long before the connection becomes problematic.

Interestingly, my ASUS laptop and my iPhone 4G do not have the issue, nor did my (Dell) laptop.

There is no time-out setting in the router config. Thing the closest is the beacon interval, but I don't know which way to adjust (up or down) to help the devices which are undergoing interruptions. I did not a setting of the interval... at this moment, everything is set to the default settings.

The E3000 replaced an old WRT54 (v2 hardware) router so that I could have a N router in the House.

    Thank you
    -Phil

How about you change wireless channel? If you do not, then you should try it. Using the two bands, 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz? If so, make sure they have different but unique SSID. Have you tried to remove the Security Wireless for testing?
