Explorer freezes on new Tecra M5 T2600

When you use Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer on the new Tecra M5 T2600, the active window in Solution Explorer or IE freezes often when you browse a web page in IE or navigation in local folders using the folders pane in a window of Windows Explorer. The window remains insensitive, but all other windows, the desktop and the Start Menu, etc. are all very well. Simply right click on the taskbar and selecting the Task Manager instantly causes the frozen window jump into life and display the IE link or folder selected at the time of the freeze.

To ensure the image provided was not the cause, the disk partition has been deleted and Win XP Pro with Service Pack 2 has been re-installed itself, followed by the apps & drivers on the CD-ROM tools Toshiba, in the recommended order, including all the provided MS QFE updates. None of the additional applications have been installed and the problem is still present.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

Well, in this case, it is not easy to say why it happens.
You suggested that you don t use the Toshiba recovery image.
To be 100% sure that this is not a malfunction of the software, you must use the Toshiba Recovery CD. After this installation, you can test the laptop and check if this strange problem occurs again. If it isn't so I guess that this happened because of your new installation.

    Hello!

As far as I know that you must add the Group everyone in the folder options. Right-click on the folder-online security-online advanced-online (effective) permissions
There, you must add the user to the other laptop or for example all users. Then it should work.
I had this problem for 1 or 2 years and it worked for me.

A friend of mine told me that he was able to copy the data to a Linux system. You can start form a Linux boot CD/DVD, and then copy the data on the other PC.

  • Explorer freezes again Satellite M105-S3084

This is a new (1 week) Satellite M105-S3084 running XP MCE with 2 G of ram and Intel duo T2050. I'm having a problem with Explorer solutions (files & folders, not IE) freezing intermittently, sometimes take 10-20 seconds before I take control, other times requiring a reboot.

I am virus and malware clean (Avast, Ad-Aware SE, Sbybot, etc...) and uptodate on all Windows updates.

I checked the support from Toshiba, but could not find any solution. (PC, perhaps too recent). I think that sometimes fingerprint reader software is causing a similar problem, but not sure if it's the same thing. I would like to uninstall the software of fingerprint reader (which I do not use because it is not secure) but can't find it under applications to add/remove to uninstall.

Any suggestions on how to solve this intermittent freezing that seems related to Windows Explorer?

I assume you have the American portable model. I heard that the similar problem was with IE, but it is fixed, if I remember correctly, with a new fingerprint reader software. Download page to check U.S. under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • All new Tecra A10 won't stop beeping... 3 beeps HI-LO-HI

    Hello there are experts...

I just got a new work for laptop Toshiba Tecra A-10, and it won't stop beeping.

Everything works fine, but every 2 minutes, or until you get 3 beeps, low high high. I can mute the PC so I can't hear it... But what the hell is wrong?

Beeps start as soon as I get to the login screen after you start the system. The start process seems fine, I get the beep POST so I guess it's all good.

The battery is full, and the beeps continue with the power cable in or out and any battery capacity. I restarted many times and still do not know the computer on top of his head and he's away until Monday. I just want to go to the bottom of this myself, I'm sure it's something simple. The laptop is brand new also probably isn't a BIOS warning (I'm no expert - it may be).

I wandered through forum after forum and no one seems to have the same problem, then it might be something like one of these Toshiba applications was trying to tell me something?

Please help, anyone out there with all the answers?

    Thanks guys,.

If after following the tips above, you still get hangs when opening / using Windows Explorer, we have an advanced troubleshooting. Please follow carefully the following instructions:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/installx86.mspx

    • Download our tool DebugWizard
    • Extract the debugwiz.exe file and place it anywhere on your system (the office will be just fine)
    • Click Browse next to the file to analyze dump box
    • Depending on the cause of the accident and how your system is configured, the dump file will be very probably located in \Windows\Minidump\ . Do a search for *.dmp in case of failure. Looking for a date/time to the dump that corresponds with the last crash.
    • Select the most recent dump file and click on generate log

Closing the command prompt window, you should be able to locate the debuglog.txt file in C:\
  • Go to Microsoft Support Services , and then select an option 'open' a support request
  • You can use the log file (debuglog.txt ) generated in order to provide the necessary information to start your support request
  • Hope that this informtaion is useful.

  • intermittent USB mouse freezes on new install 64-bit

I was recently running Win 7 RC x 64 and started having problems with my cursor of mouse freeze intermittently and seemingly randomly for 3-10 seconds approximately.  Sometimes I could go for an hour without having the problem, sometimes happen several times in a few minutes.  During these blocks, everything else seems to continue to work perfectly - the keyboard works, my apps continue to run--just the mouse does not work.  So I tried another USB port, even another USB connector internal using the front USB ports on my PC.  I tried swapping my Wired Logitech G5 for a Noteboook MS Laser 6000 wireless.  I even dropped Win 7 installed Vista Ultimate x 64 from scratch, all installed on Windows Update, installed the latest drivers for all my hardware and does not install any other software at all.  Nothing helps.  This same PC, with all the same equipment and without new software in progress other than updates, installation worked very well without this problem since Win 7 RC first came out and before it was running Vista Ultimate x 64 very well for well over a year - and then a few months ago before I suddenly started seeing this problem.

I read through tons of discussions on the mouse is frozen on Vista, here and elsewhere, and I saw these symptoms over and over, but nobody seems to have a real solution.  There is nothing in the event log, I can't identify any consistent trigger the problem, I can't catch anything suspicious in the Task Manager, when it arrives... I don't know what else to try.  My motherboard is peeling all of a sudden?  Some update mess up something?  It seems to everybody that it is a 64 - bit problem - which seems to be most common in the forum messages... same Logitech support says they have a lot of reports for 64-bit systems (my Logitech mouse is out of warranty or they would have made an exchange of material, but I don't see how that would have helped).

Anyone have any ideas?  For everyday tasks, it isn't so bad, it of just time for a gel to be boring, but not so long to be disabling.  For the game, it's absolutely a killer (literally... Eh_bien, almost).

Hello. In the company I work, all stations have Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 installed. They all connect in an Active Directory domain.

I can log on to the domain and use the computer normally. Anyway, when I try to shut down the computer when I click in shutdown (stop), the computer crashes completely. I must kill explorer.exe and start it again and use the command 'shutdown-s-t 00' in the command prompt to shut down the computer. Even in this way the computer crashes in the message "Windows has finished" until I have disable manually by holding down the power button. How can I solve this?

  • Windows Explorer freezes in Vista Home Edition

Windows Explorer stops working when moving the files from one folder to another, removing files, when I put something in the trash. It comes from the dialog box showing how much time remaining. I have to do a Ctrl, alt, delete to open the file manager and then select end task. The files are where I put them, but the dialog box will remain forever!

Often, a certain instability in Windows Explorer is due to the defective shell extensions and addons.
Consider using Sysinternals Autoruns or ShellExView. Disable Add-ons and non Microsoft shell extensions and verify the behavior.  If he went, reactivate the disabled extensions/add-ons, one at a time and see if you can identify who may be liable.
Try a clean boot, or boot into safe mode.  The behavior persists?
  • The Windows 7 Explorer freezes when moving files or when I right click a file in my computer, I think it's because of the size.

It is not malware, etc., or what you guys proposed previously.  I think that Windows is trying to display a preview of the file, and this should not be happening if it slows me down so much!
