Explorer stops when trying to associate files.

When I try to associate files with an external program is to say Embird, explorer crashes.  the file type is .jef there is a file of embroidery, and I want it associated with Embird, an embroidery program.  When I select Embird I get the error "sorry Microsoft explore needs to close."

HELPPPPPPPPPPPP

Consider for example using Autoruns or ShellExView to remove shell extensions that could potentially be compromising the stability of explorer.exe.
Or try a clean bootor Mode without failure.  Any change in behavior?
If that doesn't help, can you create the hierarchy of the following registry keys in the registry:
  HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows error Reporting\LocalDumps\explorer.exe\
In the explorer.exe key, create a REG_EXPAND_SZ value named DumpFolder and set the value data to the % systemdrive%\explorerdumps.  Ensure that the %systemdrive%\explorerdumps file exists, and then cause the crash to happen.  There should be a dump file in % systemdrive%\explorerdumps.  (Letter is an environment variable that expands to the letter of the system drive, usually c :)
ZIP the dump file and then download the ZIP file somewhere.  Provide the link here.

  • Runtime error 70 when trying to open files in the Office

    Original title: run-time error 70

I get this error message whenever I try to open the files in the office. The files end up by open, but cannot open the subfolders of these folders. Even when you run the file as an administrator, do not open the subfolders. I tried everything to open the main folder as an administrator of the registry cleaning. I had my computer reformatted but only the C drive. Files were copied to drive D (which was not reformatted) on the desktop.

    Hi puzzledcommuter,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         What is the full error message?

A runtime error is a software or hardware problem that prevents a program to function properly. Runtime errors could cause you to lose information in the file that you are using, causing errors in the file (corrupt the file) so that you cannot work with it, or prevent you from using a feature. Unlike stop errors, errors lead usually Windows or a program to stop working.

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Run the fixit of the article.

Diagnose and repair Windows files and folders problems automatically

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 3: Performs a search using the Microsoft safety scanner.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • Firefox opens an Explorer window when I download a file

Firefox has started recently to open a window of the Explorer, whenever I have download a file. It's better Explorer, actually, since I use that to replace the version of Microsoft. The folder that opens is the destination target. Thus, it creates several tabs, but I expect that it will open just to the top of multiple instances of Windows Explorer if that's what I used.

So if I download a dozen pictures, I get a dozen tabs open. This does not happen with IE or Chrome. I have several extensions installed, but I went through the options of Firefox and all relative to the downloads and none of them seem to have anything that could cause this. I checked from the Applications under the Firefox Options tab, which seemed to be a likely cause. But I don't see anything. And I don't remember changing anything recently, anyway. I can't see anything in the Explorer best that would cause this behavior. That is borne out by this is not occurring in other browsers. And I have not changed anything there, either.

I tried to download something with NetVideoHunter and I get the same behavior. But this does not happen with DownloadThemAll!

I tried search it online, but queries that I use are apparently too similar to those of other issues, because nothing of what happens is still close to my problem.

As it becomes very annoying, any help would be greatly appreciated. Firefox is my favorite browser and I am not prepared to give up on this. But I'd hate to reinstall it, since I set up just the way I want it. And I'm not even sure who could solve the problem.

    Thank you

  • Finder hanging when trying to share files to send

I use a MB Pro 13' bought a few weeks ago. The OS is the latest version available. I had a few problems with blank email that was resolved by uninstalling completely Security adds on called Trusteer / report.

Now a new and very irritating thing started by which I can't share a file to send by right-clicking on the file (in the finder) and selecting PART - EMAIL. Normally, a new e-mail window would jump upward with the file filling already. All that was needed was to add text and the recipient and send it.

The finder window becomes almost insensitive and I need to force quit and then relaunch it. The only life I can get out of the finder window in this State is that I can scroll vertically in the window, but only a limited number of files is visible. The slider on the side right up and down but does not actually move the files.

The only way I can send a file to someone by e-mail is to create an email and join from there. This method works very well.

I also noticed that if I try share a webpage to Facebook, he will not do that. Safari becomes unresponsive and I have to restart. Restart the machine makes no difference.

I did a lot of research online, but have not been able to find a solution. I tried deleting file plist without result.
