Explorer Windows loading takes forever

Usually, when I select the MY COMPUTER icon on the desktop it immediately opens and displays all my disks, but now the top of the box, opening appears a green "loading" bar that takes forever.

Hi Stephanie_1234567

You can perform a scan SFC and check. To Perform a Scan SFC -

a. click Start, click programs, on Accessoriesprincipally made, right click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow
b. type the following command and press ENTER:
sfc/scannow
A message appears indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient because the scan can take some time.
c. If all files require a SFC replace will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue.
d. If everything is correct you should, after the scan, see the following message "resource protection Windows not found any breach of integrity".
e. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

Check the link below for further guidance on scan SFC - mentioned

I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 takes forever to empty the trash

When I delete the file it takes forever to empty the Recycle Bin on Windows 7
Something must be wrong, for example, it will take nearly 7 minutes to empty the trash containing 2 GB!

I feel that I did something wrong because my first installation of windows 7 this problem does not occur

    Thank you

    Hi Zvika,

If running Chkdsk (according to the post of Ramesh Kumar) does not help, you can determine whether this problem is caused by third-party shell extensions. You can use ShellExView from Nirsoft to work.

  • Windows 7 takes FOREVER to load the user/switch user screen

Earlier today, I turned on my Toshiba laptop (Satellite P855-S5200) and got some kind of error message, and then he led me to a screen asking if I wanted to do a system repair or start windows normally. I chose the repair of the system, but then it seemed stuck in this process (it took forever and nothing happened), so I turned off the laptop (I don't know, not big), started in safe mode, and did a system restore to a restore point from a week ago. The 'starting Windows' screen come and don't go, no problem. Everything seemed fine until I got to the selection screen of the user (by default blue with the little Hummingbird or something else). Then he just sat there, on this screen. I could see the Hummingbird and the wavy lines, but there is no button to click on my user. I just let it sit there and after about 5 minutes, the usernames popped up and I was able to continue to use the computer with no problems, no speed no questions whatsoever. Now, he makes me wait each time, always five minutes, pop up user names before. It does when I reboot the machine and when I try to switch users.

  • My windows mail takes forever to load. Started about 4 weeks ago. No problem except for the amount of time for loading

    I'm using Vista - Windows mail 6.0.6000

What is a POP3 account? If so, see if the problem persists if you uncheck the send & receive Messages at startup.

A few steps, you can try.

    • Delete the account, restart, and then add it again.
    • Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

To access the system log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Windows and the system logs. • Windows updates take forever...

    Dear Sirs,

I have a windows Vista computer, and lately I'm trying to fix these windows problems to update on my own mistakes. I am trying to find answers on the Web sites, but whenever I'm digging into the problems, a new error keeps appearing.

It seems that I missed files on the windows updates, or some files in the registry are incorrect, and now windows updates keep loading for ever... I even don't see the c:\windows\system32\catroot folder on my PC that is bound to the windows updates.

Can you please tell me what to do? Windows updates are really important to the PC, so I really need the assistance of an expert in the field with my windows updates.

    Looking forward for your answer,

    Frank

  • Windows Backup takes forever to fill

    Hi all

Yesterday in the evening, I started a full backup of my system using Windows backup. It was 20:00. At 23:00, it's always 12% completion. At 07:00 this morning, it's 16 percent.

There are two internal drives in the computer: System drive is a WD Velociraptor 300 GB, with about 87 GB of data in it. Data disk, where I moved also directories of users data, is a WD Caviar 500 GB, with about 250 GB of data in it. The backup drive is a WD 1 TB external connected via USB2.
Regarding the backup settings, due to the fact that it is the first that I do after the construction of the machine, I checked all options, so "everything" is saved + image of the system is performed.

Why it takes so long? Is - this plausible? It is still in a phase of "slow" in the process, after which it is likely, it will speed up, or I better would abandon the process and try less "aggressive" backup options (or another backup program...)?

Thank you very much in advance,

    concerning

    Hello
I think I found what happened to my backup:

my users files are not in the system disk, rather in a second separate one, all the options for the backup, i.e. the two drives together audit AND users 'collections', seems to create a sort of "loop".
Unchecking the "data disk" backup (in fact, perfectly useless because in order to safeguard this up I better just copy the 'Users' directory on the backup disk!) and unchecking the collections of users did the tour and performed in a few minutes the system disk backup.

It seems that I still have to come a long way before I fully understand the implications of Windows 7 is 'collections', 'links' and so on...

I hope that my 'incident' can be useful to someone else...

If you ever have to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
