Export quality

I just made a movie (using iMovie 10.1.2) using material from my iPhone 6.  The clip was shot in 4K and photos in the film must be of good quality directly from the iPhone.  However, when I came to export higher quality choice, they gave me in the drop-down list was 720 p.

I heard that the export quality is based on the first element in the movie - and I used one of the iMovie cards.  What was this clip which downgraded my whole film export options?  Should I go 4 export option - or even 1080 p - K if I had started with a clip of 4K film?

I know that iMovie can deal with 4K and the photos from my iPhone, because I already managed to do a 4K exported movie that looks great.  So my Mac is capable of this form iMovie export quality.

Any help or comments welcome. Thank you.

"I heard that the export quality is based on the first element in the movie - and I used one of the cards iMovie."

That's right, and I suspect that you have found the reason.  Try to create a new project and put (all) 4 k clip first.  The 'Settings' button top-right in the timeline pane is shown as 4K project.  You can then select all your old project and paste it into the new.  You can remove this first clip of 4K, if you wish.

  • How can I maintain export quality if I combine multiple media clips in different formats?

For the preface, it is the first time in video.

I use the first 13 items under Windows 7 64-bit.

I'm doing a video with clips from friends, who are all in different formats (some iPhones, camcorders, GoPro, etc.).

I have put them all together, and when I play back in the editor, it looks great.

But when I export, it almost seems horrible, very bad.

I'm very familiar with this, I thought naively that since it was beautiful, as I played in the elements, it would look great when I export and burn it to a DVD.

The use of the end of the video is to have the DVD played in a movie theater. Not sure if that makes a difference.

  • Adobe Premiere CS6 blurry video quality when you export in H.264 format

Hi guys! I want to do a channel on youtube with a saved PC gameplay and I want to do it to the best possible quality. I record with Action Mirillis to my laptop screen rezolution origin which is 1360 x 768 at 60 frames per second in AVI format. I use Adobe Premiere CS6 to render the clip with the H.264 codec to resolution 1360 x 768, cadence 60, square Pixels (1.0), NTSC, high profile, level 5.1 Bitrate encoding format is VBR 2 passes, flow target [Mbps] set at 10 and made maximum use of verified quality but the quality of the export is a little blurry compared to the original screen recording. So my question is what can I change or add to these settings to make my export quality as close to the original as possible? Thank you

1360 x 768 is a common computer display resolution, but is not really a resolution of 'standard' at all. Maybe try export under video 720 p, 1280 x 720. MAX rendering quality need only be verified when you descale the output (which you would be if export to 720 p).

  • 4K clips in iMovie export 9

I still use an old iMac 24 "(early 2009) and import 4 k clips of my Phantom 3 drone to create movies." I'm able to import clips and edit them in iMovie 9. Its sometimes jerky but doable. Then I export to 1080 p. So the extreme quality is acceptable but really could not compare it to nothing since it is the only application that I used for post-processing. I saw the vids in the forums of people who have a higher quality. I guess they use a better app pro and office job better. I recently recorded clips 4 k on a large body of water and noticed obvious mediocrity for most of the water. It is grainy and pixelated. Is it because of the bad conversion of 4 k in 1080 p by iMovie 9? My iMAC does not support iMovie 4K. If my question is indeed due to iMovie 9, is there another app that I can use with my old iMAC that does a better job? If not and I have to upgrade my desktop computer, then I will just check-in 1080 p for now see if it would be better.

iMovie 9 is not completely compatible with El Capitan and can't stand not officially 4K.  iMovie version 10.1 or later supports 4K - see: Edit and share videos with iMovie - 4 K Apple supported

As you say, your machine is not recent enough to handle 4K as you'll see in the statement it:

"4K editing and sharing with iMovie for Mac is supported on Mac computers of 2011 or later with at least 4 GB of memory."

I would expect exporting 1080 p of 4K clips would give better quality on your machine with iMovie 10 iMovie 9 but it won't not necessarily faster.   It may even be slower but that will not affect the final export quality.

  • Export of JPG Compression

I use pictures of OS X to store all of my photos for a while now. Most of the time I edit my photos in snapseed for IOS and let synchronization iCloud that or I'll shoot with editing in application features. Sometimes, I need to export and unmodified original pictures OS X Pixelmator or Photoshop. After that I made my changes I export it back as a JPG (the same format as my original CD is in). When pixelmator or photoshop prompts me to give the JPG one option to export quality from 0 to 100 I still want 100, so I do not lose quality. Initially I thought it was the right thing to do until I noticed that my photoshop retouching were exported about twice or more the size of the original even if it was just a flattened JPG exported. My question is how can I keep the image edited to the same original JPG quality that I import without losing quality or export great.

    Thanks for the help,

    Max

If you don't want to lose any quality at all when exporting to JPEG, use "10". Which will increase the size of the file however, but not as much as export in TIFF format, which would be the best option.

If you are willing to accept minor losses in quality, use the quality 'high or 8' instead of 'Maximum, or 10. This should give a file of about the same size as the original file.

  • Troubled video export - CC animate Adobe and Adobe Media Encoder

After you have created a simple animation in Adobe animate CC, I want to export to a video file. Given that the export will result in one. MOV file, it requires Quicktime.

But I get messages from the CC animate and Adobe Media Encoder that the file is unusable, see attached screenshots.

    export_movie_error_Media_Encoder.PNG

    export_movie_error_dialogue_box_after_export_Animate_CC.PNG

    output_warning_export_movie_Animate_CC.PNG

Is it because that I Don t have Quicktime installed on my computer?

And one more question: as Microsoft announced that Quicktime player is a risk to security, how can we, who uses a Windows platform, use CC animate it s potential, if Quicktime is required as support software?

Is it perhaps other ways to convert your animation animate CC for a MP4 or other formats, to breast to animate it CC?

What other software do I need to convert a video animation file?

    Hardware and software:

    HP laptop

    Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise

    Intel Core i7 - 4800MQ CPU 2.70 Ghz

    16 GB memory

How works the video export is incredible. It can control how the code real time based animations are rendered. It is not surprising that he needs QuickTime to render so well. I think that for now you don't have a choice but to install QuickTime.

The latest QuickTime Player may have security problems may relate more to XP users. The issue in the news was reported in November and January, Apple released version 7.7.9, to deal with the issues who read as they are the same ones. But this version is not compatible with XP.

As you are on Windows 7, you can install the 7.7.9 version and be pretty up to date with security patches. If new questions rise, and suppose that Apple do not release a patch, make sure just that QuickTime is not configured to be Media Player by default and not go search the web looking for examples of QuickTIme sequences that are on questionable web sites.

In your Animate/video workflow, you have no reason to open QuickTime Player itself, or to be sequences QuickTime viewing in a browser, so I'm sure that you'll be safe.

Another tip, the default export quality is average. If you put this line of code in the first frame of the timeline:

    internship. Quality = "best";

the video quality will be much better. In addition, putting bitmaps to be lossless and allow smoothing. Even if the SWF from the scene becomes too demanding play, the exported video will be perfect.

  • Predetermined Image export size in LR CC

This is a question about an image (under the direction of RAW) export to jpg and make my best determine in advance the size effective download by manipulating the dimensions or by other methods.

This isn't a question about printing.

I do not understand the difference between a white wall of shooting and the shooting of a colorful scene, about the size of the image.   I also know that edit heavily in Lightroom and Photoshop affect the final size of the image too.

But I have a problem with manages the output size after cropping.    And speaking of cropping - I can I export a single file in three sizes different cultures using the same size for the "long" side is not an effective tool.

For an online location, I am limited to 1500 KB in total size and less than 16 000 000 pixels or 4 000 x 4 000.    For other places online, I need different limitations.     "So what I'm trying to do, is just get"firm"to approximate predetermined maximum file size and keep my guess and ' re - download" to a minimum.

    Here's what I know...

With the help of an image (a picture actually... these numbers are approximate)... Unlimited use 300 PPI resolution JPG uploaded can be 8 000 Ko, so there is a lot of data to work with! Using the 'Limit of the file size' feature, I can enter "1500 Kb or less"; let the 'empty' dimensions and I get a file that is 600 Kb or less.     Then, thinking as a semi -intelligent person of , (which may be wrong), I might jump "limit file size" up to 2500 KB, but then who can give me a file 1700 KB, which is too big!  The next step could be to reduce the 'limit file size' to 2200 k and I could still end up with a size of 750 Kb.   There seems to be no rhyme or reason by using the function "limit of the file size!

Using a cropped file of 8 x 10 finished, I could suggest the long side to 1,000 KB and leave blank the 'Limit of the file size' category and the second length.   This often falls within a reasonable range of 1200 Kb.  But who is never guaranteed, and of course it changes when I use sizes of different cultures and radically changed if I edited heavily in Lightroom or PhotoShop.

INFO: I usually default to 120 DPI for the resolution, but I can change this if necessary. I know that 72-96 would be nice.   And maybe that's my problem?   Should I be picking 72 or 96 always for online use?

    Any suggestions?

The result is, I am looking for some consistency... or, better yet, a math formula?

    Thanks in advance!

The file size is not a good indicator of JPG quality.

The "limit of the file size" is just another way to define the compression setting. You choose the maximum size you want and figures LR what compression setting gets you something 'just' under that number.

One thing to note here is that while LR has a 'quality' slider that goes from 1 to 100, in reality there are only about 12 real compression levels. This means that your file size limits are much less granular than you think.

    A good read:

Blog of Jeffrey Friedl 's"an analysis of Lightroom JPEG export quality settings

When I export a file, based on the intended use, I take the pixel dimensions and the compression setting. Based on this, I have a vague idea of megabytes to the size of the file due to the experience, but as long as it is in the reasonable expectations of the real MB do not matter. Now obviously some sites place a limit on the size of pixel or MB of images they host or link to. In these cases, I adjust my settings of export accordingly.

  • video quality goes bad after adding an effect first pro 6! Help, please?

    Hello

The red line indicates your computer hardware will have trouble reading in real-time in the section which is red and not yellow. But it must export very well, it's something completely different for a smoother playback that you'll just have to lower the quality of reading to say 1/4. Currently I see in your monitor window of the program, just under the left hand of Mr.... together to 1/2. When you get off the parameters of playback quality degrades the quality of the image in the monitor, but smooth playback. Or affect the appearance of the exported file, just reading while editing.

And Yes, visited a section of the timeline of the PrPro forces to create previews (only quality screen, no export quality) for the part of your sequence, you select and tell him to go. It then creates insights that can be used depending on your setting of playback quality (Full, 1 /, 1/4...) for a smooth and clean your clip with applied effects view. The effects of the change, you will need to perform a new render an article, of course.

  • Export project HD of CS4 - assistance needed!

I could use some tips working my way out of what looks like a delicate situation. Partially because I'm not very experienced with video production (espcially export), but also because I was a punk and broke this cardinal rule not to move to HD before you know what you're doing. And so wedidng video cousin took more time to mount and export the author a DVD than expected...

It's a big mess to untangle, so if anyone can offer advice, I'd be happy.

I edited with Premiere CS4. The problem is that I can't figure out how to export images in such a way that 1) fills a widescreen tv completely and 2) is actually great quality, I think.

    A few details:

    (1) export in a format screen wide (my preferred export setting is H.264) during playback of the DVD on a TV big screen, it plays on the big screen, but there is a beautiful large black border around the whole image - it is not just to fill the entire screen. On a TV not screen, it does not appear correctly Letterbox and looks very closely a 4:3 ratio. You can see the difference between the menu of the DVD Letterbox widescreen and the much thinner black "Letterbox" of the wedding video. How can I fix?

    2)

The quality is not HD as I expected, and it seems that during the first edition. In fact, sometimes it doesn't even seem as good as the quality of SD, especially when there is movement in the frame and in the follow-up of movement. I shot with two different cameras I borrowed from different people. A camera shot in 1440 x 1080 and a glance at 1920 x 1080. I didn't know this until I was shooting the footage for editing. I do know that if it has nothing to do with the export quality - both look about the same in the first when editing. When you watch the video exported, it does support any motion in the framework of all - blurry motion is in all directions. It does not at first. I wonder if it's because I should deinterlace pictures? I don't know if my camera records in 1080i or 1080 p (and have no idea how understand this). Or should I try to transform the images of 1440 square pixels to correct proportions?

I have read a few forum posts and wonder if the problem is that CS4 can't export images HD for DVD standard bat. I thought that if the size of the file ends up being small enough to fit on a standard DVD, it would work very well. I exported. Maybe that's the problem with the quality of the movie? In this case, what suggestions are there to learn how to export?

Essentially, I could use some suggestions on how to export these images in a format that plays on the widescreen or proportions standard (I'm game for anything that will provide the best quality of image at this point, even if I lose the sides of my images, conversion to 4:3). Or do I need to make some changes before going even to export?

Thanks for your thoughts. And Yes, I am so incredibly, fully aware of the madness to move towards a format I know aboslutely zilch. In fact, I had this thought when I was preparing film marriage - meh, I had no trouble before real with any of my video projects, I have to try HD one day! UHG!

    Thank you

    Heather

If you PLAY your DVD on a standard DVD player, attached to a TV, you won't get HD quality DVD is, by definition, 720 x 480 (US... PAL standard is different)

Export from body as MPEG2 - DVD Widescreen and give the two files (audio and video) to even the author of the DVD

  • Lightroom 4: beginners about Jpeg quality issues, settings, and workflow etc.

I'm about to start editing pictures and using Lr (4) for the first time. This is why I have a plethora of questions about JPEG and Lr 4 files. I apologize in advance for the obscene length and perhaps bad English.

I currently shoot RAW, but I have thousands of JPEG files. I would like to avoid losing the quality of JPEG images (by re-record and recompression unnecessarily) and be able to manage and edit them as efficiently as possible.

Could you please confirm or correct the following assumptions:

1 Lightroom 4 only re-record and re-compress JPEG images when you export the. So there's no loss of quality, no matter how much and how many times you change (in the develop module or by altering the metadata by adding keywords etc.) before exporting it. In addition, the exported file is a copy and the original is left as is, then you can continue to work on the photo without loss in Lr.

    2. the metadata record (recording manually or have the "Automatically write changes into XMP" - option on) to the XMP space inside the JPEG file does not cause re-record and recompression of JPEG in a way that would result in losses of quality (it only changes the image of the file part).

3 point number 2 is true even if you choose to include parameters in the metadata to develop by turning 'Include develop settings in metadata in JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files'.

    4. recording of metadata in JPEG format changes the date for change as indicated in the Finder. There is no way to avoid this parameter or dresser.

    5. "automatically write changes into XMP" and "Parameters of development to include it in the metadata in JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files" must be turned off, unless you plan to edit these files in another program that includes the data (for example another copy of Lr, Photoshop, Bridge etc.).

6 original JPEG can be exported without recompression and loss of quality by choosing export as originals. In this case, no retouching (balance of whites etc.) will be visible, but the changes in the metadata will be present (only) if the metadata has been saved in the JPEG described in points 2 and 3.

7 JPEG files can be renamed to import or later without recompression and quality loss (even if this information is not only stored in the Lr catalog because the name is also changed in Finder etc.).

    8. There is no advantage to convert a JPEG to a lossless (i.e. DNG) format if you plan to change them in Lr and then export the final versions.

9 goal profiles only work on RAW images. However, you can change lenses profiles to make them fully applicable to JPEG as well. All you need to do is change "True" to "False" in the following line of the XMP file:

    [stCamera:CameraRawProfile] True [/ stCamera:CameraRawProfile]

    10. the JPEG file should never be resaved in JPEG, but in Lr is not possible without exporting.

11 create virtual copies, moving between folders etc. does not cause recompression or quality loss.

    And a few more questions:

    A. are there any (other) settings or practical should I be aware of or avoid in order to not lose the JPEG quality?

    B. Si the workflow with JPEG files are different in someway RAW workflow in order to achieve maximum quality / efficiency.

    C. is there a separate edition of the presets for JPEG and RAW files? If so, FIRST presets can be applied to the JPEG format as long as the look resulting is nice?

    (D) where can I find good profiles goal JPEG (for the K-5 of Pentax or Olympus XZ-1), free JPEG editing presets and Lr tutorials on editing of JPEG, such as how you can change certain settings without going overboard etc. ?

    Thank you in advance!

    (1) Yes

    (2) Yes

    (3) Yes, this is only additional XMP-data

    (4) Yes (it is not)

    (5) Yes, or if you want to import into another LR catalog by simply using images

6 a Yes), without recompression and quality loss

No. 6B), backup of metadata in the file is not necessary, it is always included in a file exported as "Original".

    (7) Yes, the result is only an o/s rename operation (not to mention that the update of the catalogue)

    (8) Yes

No. 9 a), there are some profiles of lenses delivered with LR that work on the JPEG files and there may be some available for download

9 (b) Yes, but the results wouldn't be fair, because JPEG rendering in camera in some cameras includes the corrections, which are already applied in the JPEG format and could lead to double correction fi a raw lentils profile is applied to the JPEG (i.e. vignetting)

  • What are the best export settings for a first Pro CS4 video HD?

    Hello!

I had so much trouble with this issue and that's something that continually frustrates my boss. I have a HD video what are the settings for it

    23.98 FPS

    1920 x 1080, then a few lines down he says 1408 x 792

    16-bit,

    2 channels

    48000 Hz

What should be the parameters when I do a new sequence?

When I look into the window in Premiere Pro I constantly have to "shrink" the image to fit the window, is that something I should do or he says that the configuration of the sequence is bad?

But more importantly what should be the parameters of export? I exported a long video of 4 minutes and the size was 1 GB, I know that it's too big.

I need to export without losing quality and export another one which is consistent with the limits on the size of Youtube and Vimeo.

Vimeo is 500 MB per week, sometimes I download 4 videos per week. I think that Youtube, you can download 500 MB at a time.

I need to get the smaller size with lose the least possible quality AND the best export quality settings, so I suppose I have 3 separate issues.

What are the best settings of sequence for HD video?

What are the best export settings for HD without losing quality?

What are the best export settings for the size of out about 500 MB with losing the least possible quality?

    Thank you!
