Exporting from After Effects to Final Cut Pro

Hello

Could someone tell me the best way to export to After Effects, in the Final Cut Pro? This I must have Automatic Duck for this, if yes which?

Thanks for any help!

Matt

You must add your composition to the queue made and then export to the same format and codec you use in FCP. Automatic Duck is a great tool for your FCP or motion to enter into After Effects timelines, but most of the time I simply select an item in the PCF, export it as a sequence of reference, put in AE for treatment, then make a file to use as a substitute for the CPF.

Search by effects Final Cut Workflow and you'll find some more tips including this one. It is not bad for the body, but it misses the point to use the same codec. All my FCP projects are ProRez HQ or 444 ProREZ it's my choice. Also, if you use the shooting together, which isn't a bad idea, you can use the option to replace footage in FCP that is more effective that technique demoed drag your shot made in the timeline and then cut if necessary.

I hope this helps.

  • Problem with exporting from After Effects

    Hello everyone,
I exported a video media of first cs5 windows (it was shot with the Canon 7 d).
Video 1 video channel, 1 audio channel that contains a conversation and another audio channel that contains only music.
After that I exported it, I imported the video into After Effects cs5, I added a few effects, and then I exported it as a video windows media.
    The audio settings are:

    Music mode
voice audio codec windows meida 9
audio format 20 Kbps, 22.05 khz, mono

Even if the video of the first has been flawless, that of After Effects contains the conversation perfectly, but the music is very low and even erratic.

    Anyone encountered this problem?

Use the audio compressed in AE. Use the ordinary WAVs and their depth of rate and little match native plug of your audio hardware, so AE not needd to resample and 'mix' it consistent for playback.

  • Import Final Cut Pro library media

Is it possible to import media from a library of Final Cut Pro X?  The library is displayed in the import box, but is grayed out. I can't navigate down to see the content to allow access to the already imported media.

Not directly as much as I know.

Right-click on the FCP X library and select "show the contents of the package.  There will be a folder for each event.  Within each of these folders will be a "Original media" folder that contains links to clips (external media) or clips (managed media).  Just make drag and drop links and clips into your iMovie event.  Copies will be in your library from iMovie for you is going to be duplicate files.  (I just checked that drag a FCP link creates a copy).

  • I have a project in iMovie HD6 and want export to Final Cut Pro.  I see that it is not possible from the previous questions, but is it possible that I could maybe create a dvd of the iMovie project and then who import in Final Cut?

I have a project in iMovie HD6 and want export to Final Cut Pro.  I see that it is not possible from the previous questions, but is it possible that I could maybe create a dvd of the iMovie project and then who import in Final Cut?  I just want to make a new trailer for the project.

What you suggest is possible but it takes software and third-party quality loss.

Instead, export a QuickTIme movie. If you have a choice of codecs, choose Apple Intermediate Codec. You can save it where you want it-maybe in the movies.

Then import the movie into FCP as a clip.

    Good luck.

  • I do not understand how to import a project that I created in Final Cut Pro in After Effects

I do not understand how to import a project that I created in Final Cut Pro that has many sound effects in After Effects. When sharing, choose Apple Pro Res 422, resolution 1920 x 1080, select other - After Effects, it comes as a layer in AE. I don't see how I can change this and do not know, I'm doing this right. Can someone help me please. Thank you very much.

You can use the file--> menu to import and use the Pro import, but of course there are limits. They are just completely different programs of two separate companies.

  • Audio visible, no audible after the .aaf of the Final Cut Pro project import

I received a file of a CONF (Advanced Authoring Format) of a Final Cut Pro user.

It simply gave a .mov for video and audio accompanying wth AudioFX and trails of laughter in the AAF file. He wanted to see if I could clean up the audio since I use Adobe Audition and have dome such work.

I followed the procedure that I understood to import the AAF:

I used After Effects to import the AAF. (Pro Import AfterEffects)

I export the created folder and then the comp on to Premiere Pro CS6.

Everything looks good, all audio is enabled, I see waveforms on the timeline. But I can't hear audio when I play the timeline (where video is displayed in the program window.)

If I double-click on a waveform in one of the layers, it opens in the Source window and VOILA! I can hear the audio.

What could I do wrong that I cannot hear the sound when I play or scrub in the Timeline?

    Thanks in advance!

Select all clips in the timeline, right-click and chose to remove the effects/attributes and uncheck everything except audio level, audio gain etc. There are at least three different places that control the volume out of the clip that sits in a timeline.

Also check the audio effects for each individual item

  • Problems to export a sequence in Final Cut Pro XML... ideas?

I hope someone can shed some light on a problem that only seems to be one with first Pro CS5.5.2.  Every time I try and export a unique sequence of a project of multi sequence in Final Cut Pro XML to return to fix the XML from the DaVinici file is a very large XML file that lists each sequence in the project and all files used by each sequence.  Rather than simply describing the sequence selected when I go to file > export > Final Cut Pro XML.

I'm at a loss as to what is at the origin of the problem and have vainly what follows:

    • Delete all files in rendering
    • Project > remove unused
    • Media preference cache cleaning
    • Re-save the project under another name
    • Import the calendar one at a time into a new project
    • full reboot

Any help that anyone can throw at the problem would be welcome.

Well, after some research, I found the disappointing answer to my problem.

Mainly down to my own ignorance that has just begun the process of transition in Premiere Pro and partly down to how XML and the XML Export options are processed first.  In any case, I thought that as Final Cut Final Cut Pro XML Export option would work in a manner similar that is exported XML has been selected only sequence.  I had made this assumption in part as other export as export Media options are specific selection and not the project globally.

All this means that it made for a very difficult workflow in terms of using color classification apps like DaVinci.  Yes there are tools like those produced by the red giant for the ranking within the first large but personally I find them slow to use compared to a dedicated system, with adequate control surface, and while many are not as versatile as an application dedicated in my humble opinion.

I guess the other reason, he took was simply down to the fact that in many instances of first if something is global by default as the importation of another project you have the option to select the project or a sequence and a similar approach is being implemented in dynamic linking, which is great.

I think it would be great if Adobe would implement the option to export only a single sequence in XML format for round trip for the purposes and of course keep the full export of the project which I'm sure because many will be useful.  It would also be useful if the XML Version 5 implementation, as this should allow the use of other third party XML tools as excellent Media copy 3.0 Atomic duck to get a report or copy files related to a project or a sequence based on a universal XML file. As well as extremely versatile and powerful return options.

  • How to create or export a logo in Illustrator CS5 with an alpha channel for use in Final Cut Pro 6?

To all those who can help you:

I created a logo using Illustrator CS5 and must import it in a video sequence in Final Cut Pro 6.  The logo has a transparent background.  It seems that FCP 6 will import the files native .ai and .tiff files, but when I opened the 6 FCP, the alpha (transparent background) is no longer there; There is just the logo on a white background.  Y at - it a setting or a market I'm missing?

I need to insert images of HAVE in Final Cut Pro and Motion quite frequently.

The best way I found to get a picture of IN Final Cut is:

    1. Select / copy all objects in the doc to HAVE it.

    2. create a new file with a transparent background in Photoshop and paste.

3 merge layers and make sure that the mode is RGB.

4 save out as one. PNG or. PSD.

    5. drag the result in Final Cut (or movement).

6 resize and position the result to taste.

Attempt to export directly from... to PSD or. PNG is a wasted effort and the results are not even necessarily recognized by Final Cut.

Yes, there are Photoshop and it's a few extra steps... but it works like a charm.

In addition, when you create a new file in Photoshop, you can initially set its size that matches the aspect ratio of your video. For example, if you prepare a video HD, you could set the size of 1280 x 720 and position the elements GOT to where they are supposed to be in the frame. You can set the items HAVE precisely by cutting and pasting a picture of your video into Photoshop and positioning HAVE in place on another layer above the video layer. Delete the video layer before you save it as a. PNG or. PSD and it will appear in Final Cut exactly where it should be.

  • Cannot export an After Effects project to Adobe Premiere Pro project

I created a really simple After Effects composition (Comp 1): a layer of animated text that uses animate it-right in by word Preset.

I tried the file - export - Adobe Premier Pro project.

But when I open the new file in Adobe Premier Pro, I get the following message:

The preset used by one of the sequences in this project requires third-party components that could not be located. These sequences will be changed to use a custom sequence implementation. To continue editing using the pre-selection of origin, exit the application without saving the project, re - install all third-party components that are needed, and reopen the project. Ok

When I press OK I just get an empty workspace Premier Pro. COMP 1 appears in the project area - but that's all!

I have some components of part 3. They are all in a folder in next to the official file called Presets predefined animations. But the screening I used is a standard Preset in Adobe - nothing third-party. I was also wondering if the problem was the text? - but I tried Arial and Helvetica and still get the same message.

PS. The reason why I want to try this message was to see if the text layer would be transparent - please let me know if there is a way to better/alternative to do this?

    1. If your suggestion of rendering using a container from different media / codec is faster and easier to import After Effects in Premier Pro with a transparent background? And if yes, can you give me an example of the media that container & codec will do the trick?

For example, PNG, TGA, which are installed with Adobe Suite and available as the two image sequence and QuickTime movie. Video of the UT, DNxHD, ProRes (Mac only) requires separate and installation available in MOV or AVI (video c on a PC) container. Etc.

    2. back to my original question: even if export an After Effects project as an Adobe Premier Pro project is not really solve my problem of needing a transparent background, it all works? Because it seems to me that my test (simple text with a unique Adobe preset text effect applied layer) is about as simple as you can get with After Effects. So what didn't come out to the Premier Pro, what can?

When you export your AE PrPro project project, PrPro tries its best to convert keyframes, effects, and all the rest in the same way as if you copy and paste a layer of AE in the PrPro sequence. However, it cannot convert what it is these things that do not exist in PrPro. See this and that help sections.

See also this section on the rendering of assistance.

As Rick said, apart from rendering your AE composition, you can use Dynamic Link to your AE compositions in PrPro project. Although you can import into PrPro project AE compositions of different versions of the Suite, so that dynamic links would work as a two lane road (i.e. of the kind that you would be able to send a clip or group of clips in your timeline in PrPro project in AE through dynamic links) you need versions of PrPro and corresponding AE. What is more, before CS6 Adobe Dynamic Link requires the Production Premium or Master Collection installed. Since the CS6, you must just PrPro and AE.
