External keyboard issue...

I've never used an external screen before so I apologize for my ignorance.

Just bought a Dell P2415Q and plugged into my MacBook Pro 2014 retina and it works very well. You wonder how to use the display with the laptop clamshell mode. I would use my external keyboard Das Keyboard, which requires 2 USB connections.

Can I connect the keyboard to the screen or laptop? I connected now to the screen and it does not work. Maybe I am not doing something good.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Is the P2415Q USB 3.0 upstream cable connecting the USB P2415Q #8 upstream port and the other end connected to the MacBook Pro? If so and the keyboard does not work when plugged directly into the port downstream P2415Q USB, then the USB of P2415Q hub is not installed by the Apple operating system. The P2415Q User Guide =

Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

    Hello

I don't think there is a way to solve this problem. Also, I assume it is the related issue of the BIOS. Is perhaps the time to be up-to-date and use new and compatible equipment. ;)

  • Magic of Apple external keyboard, not ctrl alt del

    Hi all

I have an old MacBook Pro (2011) and recently I build a small office area at home where I connect my laptop to a bigger screen and use the mouse Magic Mouse from Apple, as well as the new keyboard of magic.

In OS X, everything works as expected, but when I start Windows using boot camp on the external keyboard does not work properly.

It does not change the BACKSPACE to a delete key once you press fn. That much I'm already sure of since I tried a keycode scanner.

When I finally go through the logon screen using a work around with the keyboard on the screen, I noticed that none of the special keys like volume up/down or works of brightness - that's all simple F - keys.

I reinstalled Windows and asked to download the latest drivers for supported boot camp and it's always the same question.

Someone of you know the same behavior or is there maybe someone here with a solution?

    Thank you

    -Kim

    1. Please check Control Panel-> system-> keyboard to Boot Camp settings.

2 try using Fn + Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard Apple when you access Windows.

3 make sure you have the Apple keyboard driver installed in devices-> HID devices or devices-> keyboard.

  • Turn on/off wireless so that the laptop is connected (external keyboard)

    Portégé R700-184
    Part number: PT311E-02Y01JEN

    Hello

Can someone tell me how to turn on/off wireless switch using an external keyboard for docking station is the R700 while it is on it?

We only seem to be able to turn on/off wireless by using the key on the keyboard (Fn + F8) construction.

Also, is there anyway that wireless can be turned off by default at startup upward? Is this something that can be done through the BIOS, or perhaps by twisting a registry key?

    Grateful for any help.

    :-)

I have a better idea: as you know you can use Flash cards to move the pointer on the top and in two mouse clicks, you can turn off WLAN.
So you n t need special option for external keyboard or anything else.

Open flashcards settings and activate the option allow the mouse to bring up maps, click on map of F8 and choose the option you want.

    It is very easy.

    Hello

I'm not quite sure that all this, but my hypothesis is code KBC m is missing in the BIOS.
Satellite/Portege Z830 keyboard does not support keypad so maybe that's the reason why the numeric keypad on the keyboard can not be activated.

When to use a docking station and the keyboard of the UBS, the function key ("Fn + F2") on my tecra M5 as will not work. The USB keyboard has a Fn key, but when you press on with F2 nothing happens. Can I lock the screen another way?

    Hello

Have you checked the locale and language?
As far as I know there is little difference between the United States and the United Kingdom English English keyboard settings. In my opinion, you should check if you have the language settings on the right for a right keyboard layout.

  • NB100: keyboard problem internal after changing the language on the external keyboard

    Hello

    I bought a brand new Toshiba NB100.
Due to the size of the keybord th (and the odd choice of colored letters grey on the keyboard), I bought an external keyboard as well.
My settings of language is Norwegian, but the external keyboard is US.
So I did it in Norwegian.

The problem is that now, whenever I'm not using the external keyboard, the integrated keyboard is foreign to any language and has 'invented' his own which means I have to press the Fn key in order to access the normal letters and the number zero.

I tried to remove the keyboard drivers and retart in the hope to return to the original values, but anything will do.

    Hope someone can help me.

I'm not sure, but have you tried turning on FN + F11 / turn off?

Or maybe Control Panel > regional and language options > tab regional options or languages?

    Try different settings.

  • Portege R700 - FN keys emulate external keyboard

My R700 is connected to a port replicator Port speed Hi and external USB keyboard. I would like to access the function keys of Toshiba on the external keyboard, which means I need to emulate the key FN from Toshiba.

I've seen references to other models of laptop Toshiba HW Setup and solutions including a BIOS setting, but none of these options appear to exist on my R700.

No doubt there's a simple answer...!

    Hey,.

Unfortunately, I think that's not possible. There is no external keyboards on the market where you can emulate the notebook FN keys. In addition the laptop must support this feature and that s that I don't not known.

I put t know why it is so important for you but I think that you should always use the internal keyboard FN keys.

  • How to disable WiFi for Portege R830 + Port Replicator & external keyboard

Stupid question I know, but it's driving me crazy.

I have an external keyboard Port duplicator and the attached monitor. The Port Replicator has a wired Ethernet connection to my local network. When I anchor my R830 in Port Replicator, ideally I would like to turn off the wireless adapter, but at least I certainly want the default use of the wired LAN connection not WiFi.

Currently, it seems just randomly decide to use wired or wireless connection when I anchor.

    So, two part question:

    1. How can I pay the R830 automatically default to an Ethernet cable when I anchor?
    2. How can I turn off Wi - Fi when I am connected and using an external keyboard (the toggle F8 to activate wireless switch on the keyboard of the laptop does not work on external keyboards)

Thank you very much in advance for your advice.

    > How can I set the R830 automatically default to a wired Ethernet connection when I anchor?
If the port replicator is connected to the local network and then the laptop would use the LAN connection automatically if you connect the R830.

    > How can I turn off Wi - Fi when I am connected and using an external keyboard (the toggle F8 to activate wireless switch on the keyboard of the laptop does not work on external keyboards)
Well, in this case, you can use the internal keyboard to turn off the WiFi using Fn + F8
